We spend our weekend here in one of the renovated rooms. It was clean and good enough to spend few nights. Bathroom isn't renovated though. Still worth the money. Goal of our holiday was to have some good time in Tropiclandia with our 6 year old. Tropiclandia is very kid-friendly place. Clean, but outdated. But still great place to give you children some good memories in warm waterpark atmosphere.

Needed something close to the ferry terminal. This is a five minute drive. Room was good,hot shower. All the staff were friendly. Free WiFi. Free parking.Ate dinner in restaurant which was nice. Would stay again.

A peaceful hotel with all amenities in wonderful sea views near the center of Vaasa. Comfortable rooms and free parking, we didn't need more. Beside the hotel is the Tropiclandia spa, which can be very important for the families with children.

Just good enough to get the Scandic experience. I stayed in room 356, it was very very simple, painted walls and no cozy environment, yes, you have TV, a good bed and a table but for example the toilet brush was missing. Food was good and the view from the restaurant as well.

Very happy with my stay at Scandic Waskia, especially after having had bad hotel experiences inland. So the rooms are a bit old - who Cards; they are nice and clean. Amazing sea view, friendly staff and the unbeatable Scandic breakfast. Would definitely stay again! If you’re planning to visit Tropiclandia, there is a discount for hotel guests.

Good location by the sea. A lot of free parking places. Room with view to the sea. Nice with fridge in the room. The sofa bed is a bit small for two children aged 12 and 13. The shower had a good size. Friendly staff in the reception and the bar. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant but the service could be better (information about menu, taking empty plates, asking if the food is OK, glass was dirty).

Hotel introduction was short and efficient. Service at the reception was not really warm and left me thinking were we really welcome to stay. Room was just fine. Not much to say about room view because i could only see a parking lot. We decided to eat well in the hotel restaurant since it was our last night before we end our holiday trip. Very first thing i noticed when we step down in the restaurant was the mildew smell. But we were not that picky to turn around and drive to town to seek another place to eat (plus we had a hungry children with us) so we gave it a chance. Was a bit strange that we got service only in english and i'm native finnish. Food was good but dishes were really small compared to price we had to pay for it. My children ate about 8 euro salmon dish from children's menu and i decided to go also with salmon, but ordered it from the adults menu. Price was over 30 euros and i literaly was left hungry after 5 minutes it take for me to eat it. It taste good but not at all worth of the price. No one asked us how was the food and were we satisfied for our experience. Well, now i'm giving a feedback which never was asked.…

The hotel was finishing up on its renovation so the time of this review is not corresponding to a normal service level. Saying that, the room was excellent, bed comfortable, sauna was enough hot and the breakfast very good. And all this by the seaside, next to Vaasa center from 1.5km away? The parking was free, which is an excellent and maybe too rare of a treat at Vaasa. Waskia is situated next to Tropiclandia Spa & Waterpark. We have previously stayed here with the family, as it is so easy to pop in / out and in again when visiting other venues or even PowerPark amusement park. The gym is not big but has enough free weights, a multitask excercise machine and three different cardio machines, so it is worth a visit. And then to sauna, if not going to the Tropiclandia Spa. I don't what else to wish for what would not be available??…

It was probably a great hotel in the 80s. Not much has changed since. Rooms are tired and the bathrooms are filthy. Breakfastmenu hasn’t changed either. Apparently not so hot among taxis either, we almost missed our train waiting for one to arrive >30min.

Our one-night stay exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our requests. Our room was a bit dated, but clean. There was free parking space close to the entrance. I would have personally preferred a bit more firm bed. The breakfast buffet was a pleasant surprise with many good options. Surroundings of the hotel are very pleasant. I can recommend the hotel for overnight stays. We did not try the dinner service or sauna.
