I stayed here for one night with my family in a two-bedroom apartment. I must say I was disappointed, because the rooms were quite shabby and untidy and I couldn't sleep because of the traffic noise. Breakfast was OK but nothing special. The juice tasted really lame. The hotel is located quite far from the city centre. I wouldn't stay here again, although this wasn't the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff was friendly, though.

This is really a hostel, not a hotel. Rather run down, in desperate need of a renovation. Rooms not very clean. Some rooms were very noisy due to the karaoke night. Breakfast OK though the juice was no good. Food in the restaurant took forever to arrive and those of us who ordered today's lunch got their portions last of us all. Friendly personnel. No info about breakfast times, free wifi(?) or anything else in the room.

Stayed there for several days. The staff and the Swedish owner were friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was OK and quite substantial, compared to many "continental" breakfasts in the US that I have eaten. The hotel is a bit run-down and far away from anything so you must take a bus to get anywhere. But it is a relatively inexpensive place to stay so it depends on your needs.

Nice room, free sauna and very kind receptionist. Due to the early flight we had to leave the hotel very early in the morning without possibility to have breakfast in the hotel. But the receptionist arranged for us a package with breakfast (juice, apple and a sandwich) which we got the evening before departure.

The hotel is located in Palosaari region about 6 km from the centre of Vaasa. You can get to the center and back with bus on daytime and evenings. The closest markets are about 1 km away, but there is a restaurant in the hotel. The food is ok, but the restaurant seemed to be more of a beer pub. In the evenings there is karaoke. Parking is free and the parking lot is spacy. There is not so much to see in Palosaari so you'll need to get into the city center or to Old Vaasa in one way or another. Room was clean and ok. Tekla is a very basic 2-3 star hotel - no surprises to better or worse.

The hotel is not in the center of Vaasa, but 2-3 kilometers. The rooms are worn. Anyway the room was clean and everything worked. Breakfast had the necessities. Service was friendly. The restaurant at the hotel was great and inexpensive.

Right in Vaasa, not far from the center. The hardest part was finding the main entrance. Parking is free and in the rear. There is a pub and small restaurant which was convenient after driving most of the day. Room was basic, clean, quiet. Breakfast was the usual sliced meats and cheeses and cucumbers, etc. Wi-fi was only available in the restaurant and pub area.

Rooms are small, bare but clean and have the basics such as clean sheets and and bedding. Its more of a hostel with multi-bed rooms.
The restaurant (more of a bar) is excellent with affordable meals that are very tasty and substantial in size.

This property has a good feel about it with lots of character and quirks, but it was a little run-down. The rooms were comfortable enough, though, and breakfast had a good spread.

My main complaint is that WiFi was spotty in the room.

There are probably better places to stay in Vaasa but this place was a good location for what I needed and it was fine.

I only stayed here because it was most convenient for a friend who lives close by. I am used to 3 star hotels - kind of in the Holiday Inn Express category. Compared to HIE, this place is a real dump. However, reception desk was friendly. They did me a big favor by letting me stay in a more expensive room on the ground floor at no extra charge.
The hotel is more like a hostel. Everything is very worn down. The place could use a complete makeover.
It was off season....so I got 4 nights for 260 Euro which is quite "inexpensive" even for a run down hotel in Finland or just about anywhere else in Europe.
Breakfast was OK. Lunch and dinner menu had good variety.
The reception is in the same location as the restaurant/bar if that bothers anyone. Makes no difference to me.
The bed was comfortable enough but the surroundings and the clientele were a bit scuzzy.
Anyhow, if your looking for relatively cheap with a comfortable bed and don't care staying somewhere in desperate need of an overhaul, then this will probably be good enough for you.
I'll pay extra and stay somewhere else next time.....
