The hotel is in two different buildings. Breakfast is served in the old building, where you have to go outside if your room happens to be on the new side. You can use the parking lot of the neighboring S-group hotel (€10/night) for parking. The staff is friendly.

Scandic -chain establishment in Vaasa. Little bit disappointment comparing to other experiences on Scandic-hotels. Check-in time 3 pm, we arrived 1.55 pm and the lobby was full of people, coming and going. Only 1 person on duty in the reception and one group of 3 in the desk was jamming the hole system. Our room wasn't ready so we asked about the parking and the instructions were a little bit confusing and we made the wrong decision but have to say that should have more focused and also open our own eyes when in the parking lot. Breakfast was great from quantity and quality point of view. If you have room in 5th floor behind a two separate elevator, mind your head. Roof beams are little low in the room, at least that was the case in our room, and they not marked properly. I once hit and twice I was near to hit my head to those beams. Otherwise the room was spacious, clean and equipped with all the necessary machines.

It was somewhat difficult to find a reasonably priced hotel in Vaasa, and in this regard Scandic Vaasa is a good choice. The hotel has a good location near the city centre, offers a large parking area, decent rooms and an excellent breakfast. The most negative aspect of our stay was the lack of sitting arrangements . The only sitting option except the bed was one hard, wooden chair, which did not facilitate a comfortable lounge in the room.

We stayed in a ”Superior Sauna” room which was very nice with high overall standard, more than you normally see in this price range. Huge bathroom with both sauna and bubble bath tub. Room/hall way is a little ”worn around the edges” not critical but needs to be renovated in a few years.

Room 430 4 etc. Walking distance from reception was through several buildings, two lifts and several doors. Felt like walking through a labyrinth. Long way to the exit.
The room felt dark, sad and worn, with brown walls, ceiling and interior. The hotel describes that the rooms are soundproofed, but the hotel room door had an opening towards the floor. Due to the lack of ventilation, the window had to be open. A lot of noise from construction activities in the area was bothersome in the early morning.
Toilet room separate from shower room. Very small room. Contains small sink, mirror and toilet. The toilet room appeared dirty. dirty floor, dirty toilet, vent in ceiling full of dust. Sewage smell from drain. No ventilation in the toilet and shower room.
Shower/jazzui room/sauna room: the room was perceived as dark. Dark ceiling, walls and floor. Little light. No mirror in the shower room. Hair residue in drain.
The jacuzzi tub was dirty, unwashed and therefore not used.
Main room: dirty floor, food remains under the bed. Dirty mattress. Worn interior.
On top of a cupboard in the hall were papers from previous guests.

Booked a ”superior sauna” room because in the details it is stated that some rooms have an air-conditioner. None of the rooms have an aircon. There is a heat pump in the room but it can be on for only 15 minutes at a time and only produces warm air. The room was a Superior Sauna indeed! During the stay I drank a 0,5l bottle of water from the warm minibar. It was 5,80€!!!! The most expensive water I have ever had. Parking was also very confusing. Watch out for the parking trolls. They are lurking behind the corner to give you a ticket while you unload your luggage. I recommend Sokos Hotel instead.

We booked a penthouse, no air conditioning and the window could not be opened. The room was really hot and naturally only circulated warm air with the floor fan. Many feedbacks criticized the air conditioning, some rooms do have it, but for the most part it doesn't, so only floor fans are used. The hotel's restaurant is closed on Sundays. The level of cleaning needs improvement. Waiting for breakfast, of which better expectations. Respa friendly.

We booked a room with air conditioning, yet we received a hot room with a fan that barely worked. We told the reception about it but they just gave us ice to put in the fan. Didn't help. The window was small and so high up you could not look outside.
