M/S Bore, a combination of museum and hotel ship, is an experience not to be missed if you love old forms of transport. She was the last ocean-going ship in the Nordic countries still to be powered by steam when owned by Aura Lines in 1984. Sadly it was later converted and used with diesel You will be very disappointed...

Sleeping on board an retired ferry, is an oportunity and an experience could not miss while in Turku. A beat cold inside my cabin for a good overnight sleep (18 degrees in mid april, while outside where just 4), with no possibility to adjust. You need to make your own bed, and no cleanning in your room throught your stay....

It's a boat! A lot of charm. The breakfast is nice. There is a free sauna available on the morning. Really good services for this price. It's a bit far from the city center but close to the castle. Nice staff

Really quiet and clean hostel. Excellent location only approx 2km from centrum of turku. Sauna is open from 06:00 morning and breakfast was nice. Excellent choice when visiting town or waiting for a boat.

Sleeping in Hostel which is situated in the boat is such a great experience. Especially with such low price and high quality of services. Room/cabin was clean and cosy. It was a pleasure and definitely not the last time there!

They cant make up their minds if Borea is a hostel or a hotel but never mind. It used to be a cruise ship untill a few years ago and before that it was for decades a passanger ship between Sweden and Finland. For 6 euros they let you see the command bridge and some cabins in original condition. There...

The service was very friendly. The breakfast, included in the low price, was a nice surprise. Free parking close to the ship. There was also a nice "lobby" with newspapers and books. One used to say that you get what you pay for, but I Think I got more than I payed for

Don't be surprised your room is so small, it's a real ship. But still you have your own tiny bathroom. There is also a common room where you can sit and make some tea. The town is about a 45 minutes walk along the river. It's very convenient when you want to take the ferry to Sweden, just 10 minutes...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Spend the night in the maritime atmosphere on board. On board the boat hostel there are 120 comfortable cabins, most of them equipped with shower and WC. The price includes bed linen, towels and breakfast, served in the ship's buffet restaurant. Free morning sauna is heated up in the crew's former quarters. Guests are also provided with wireless internet access (in common areas), luggage storage and self-service laundry facilities. M/S Bore was built in 1960 in Oskarshamn in Sweden. The museum ship has found its rightful place on the River Aura, right next to the Maritime Centre Forum Marinum. The location is ideal: the port of Turku is within easy walking distance, and the No. 1 bus will bring guests from the airport and bus station directly to the hostel. If arriving with your own car there is plenty of free parking. You are also in the perfect spot to start your own walking tour of the River Aura. The reception is open 24/7. Check in time between 3 pm and 9 pm. Welcome! ... more   less
