Our night in Scndic Plaza was quite short, but we managed to get the breakfast just in time. And the breakfast was tasty and beefy :) There was only one thing to critizice: the bed.... The staff in the hotel was considerate and friendy. Thanks!
Excellent stay at the Scandic Plaza hotel, the room was very spacious and with an excellent view of the main pedestrian streets of Turku. The breakfast was one of the best of all the hotels we visited. We want to highlight the great kindness of everyone at the reception, especially Sami. We definitely want to go back to Turku and stop at Hotel Scandic Plaza.
We had the superior room, spacious with big windows. Clean, comfy beds, large bathroom. Air conditioning was very loud and slightly annoying. Bathroom was equipped for guests with special needs. My son accidentally pushed the alarm button while searching the light. No harm done, but might be confusing for others too.
A nice hotel right in the city center of Turku. You could see that it is not exactly new, but everything was clean and fresh. The beds were comfortable, but would have been nice with two different pillows. Now they were both the same, I would have preferred a lower one. The only thing that was bad was that it was hard to find coming by car, even though I knew where the hotel is (last time I was on foot) and we had a GPS
The gym is good, the building is nice, reception staff was willing, but lacked training. The breakfast is really great. But the rooms need renovation, the furniture and decoration are very old and worn-out - particularly the beds. We had 2 single beds put together that kept coming apart all the time. And the room floor wasn't sweeped one single time in 6 days, ended up full of dust.
We stayed in Scandic Plaza Turku for 1 night. The hotel has a perfect location but would definitely need a renovation. Corridors and rooms were worn out and didnt have the nicest smell. Interior was old and would need a change. Location and breakfast were good but the overall experience was shadowed by the looks of the hotel. Hotel would need a renovation or a strong price lowering.
The hotel is nicely situated and the friendly staff is trying, but it isn’t enough. The hotel is screaming for a total renovation. The corridors still smell of cigarette smoke, the interior is probably early ‘00s, and the cleaning is really well below par. In our room there were so much dust under the bed, around the toilet, on the hairdryer and at other places. The only thing that was fixed during the day was that the beds were made. No vacuuming, no cleaning of the bathroom, dirty dishes left in the room and so on. It is really weird to try to save money by not cleaning a room. That really must be the basics of hotel management to make sure the hotel is clean, especially in pandemic times.
Were staying in Superior Balcony room.Balcony wasn't cleaned-there were empty bottles.Shower room walls had spots of black mold. All in all-not worth the price. At check-out receptionist wasn't friendly.
Staff are so friendly and helpful, and location is handy for train station, buses and bars, restaurants etc. Room was comfortable, but minor annoyances at not having plug socket for phone charger that was near to bedside table. Good buffet breakfast, and an excellent steak dinner in onsite restaurant.
A hotel that has remained in the 1990s. The reception was slow and crowded with two customers. The location of the hotel is great, and so was the breakfast. The standard of the hotel was much better sometime 10 years ago. Now I feel like I'm stuck in the 1990s...
