We stayed at the Park Hotel Turku for three nights and ended up selecting this since the location appeared to be very convenient for someone arriving via train, as well as appearing to have more personality than generic hotels.

During our stay the quality service from the personnel was excellent; both prompt and friendly. Our room was on the second floor and nicely decorated, with basic but functional furniture and assortment of decorative items. We did consider the room to be quite quiet, with no disturbance from street noise and only minimal levels sounds from other guests passing through the walls. The downstairs bar had an adequate selection of drinks for those couple of occasions we visited it, and the outdoors area was comfortable to spend some time to enjoy nice weather too. Both our room and the public areas were clean and generally in good condition. Besides being close to the railway station, the hotel was comfortably on the edge of the city center, so getting into a restaurants and back in the evening was effortless also by walking.

As can be guessed from the above, we considered the place to be enjoyable although there were a few caveats. The lock on our room door was a bit temperamental, requiring sometimes several tries to get it to open. The breakfast was generally decent enough, but the selection of warm foods was a bit limited (no complaints about the coffee, breads etc though!). And the amount of power sockets was a bit limited in our room considering modern needs, so we ended up having to temporarily unplug a lamp to charge phones etc.

Would we visit this hotel again? Sure, as far as we are concerned, the pros outweighed the cons by a significant margin.

We booked a suite at the Park Hotel and received an enormous room with a huge bed, a complete living and dining room with a minibar big enough to stuff some snacks in along with all the junk they had placed in it. It was tastefully decorated with paintings and sculptures and about ten lamps and three chandeliers and a model ship and a bathtub which originally was a jacuzzi but no longer worked. It was really like renting someone's apartment for a few days.

The staff were very courteous and knowledgeable an helpful. They know the town very well. Breakfast was idiosyncratic but there was enough fruit and smoked salmon and vegetables and hot food and Caprese salad (!) to make up for the lack of any pancakes.

There were only two problems - Turku was very hot while we were there and there was simply no way to cool down the room. We did have a fan, which helped, but could not cope with the heat. And we were offered breakfast in the hotel when we arrived even though our room was not ready, and when I checked out I realized I had been charged a very tidy sum for that breakfast. That was a rude surprise.

Conveniently located to the train station - when it reopens! It currently is closed but there is transit to the temporary station, and also to any other place in the city.

I'd go back in a cooler time!

The Park Hotel is very conveniently located at the central Turku, has buses passing and the main Railway Station right next to it.

The place is in a beautiful historical building, and the rooms are cozy with personality and fun flare to the interior decoration, not the cold and sterile feeling that most modern locations have. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and had seen a good effort in offering a delicious and comprehensive breakfast. It was a delight to spend a night at the Park Hotel!

We spent a night in this hotel with my partner and his 9-year old son, our experience was terrible. The hotel room was extremely humid and hot, most likely this hotel has serious humidity problems. The hotel room tv didn't work. We had a broken glass lampshade above the bed. We were not able to sleep in the room at all and decided to leave the place at 6 am in the morning without even having a breakfast. We contacted the hotel manager after our visit giving her feedback on our stay. Her communication has been very arrogant and mean, no understanding of quality customer service. I can not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I have had the most terrible experience in this hotel, first of all upon our arrival the receptionist was like
drunk, the room was so damp you couldn't breathe, the TV didn't work, my son almost cut his head with a broken glass lamp that was just above the bed.

My partner contacted the hotel manager and this lady responded to my partner in a super arrogant way that when I read the emails between the manager and my partner I was surprised by the disrespectful way that this lady Eva Dzoedzic wrote.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Imagine you are given a wonderful suite with beautiful furniture, two comfy chairs and a divan and enough storage to place two steamer trunks of luggage.

And then imagine that you cannot spend a single comfortable minute in the room.

Sadly, that was my experience in the suite in Room 401 on the top floor of the Park Hotel in Turku. The beds were placed so pillows were up against the windows, and there was NO way to close the window shades to avoid direct sunlight striking the bed. And Turku was going through a heat wave and there was no good way to place the fan provided in the room in a way that improved air circulation. Result - Greenhouse! Good for flowers but not for people. Every day, I descended from my room to the ground floor, cooling off significantly as I went down. Always cooler on the ground floor than on the top.

I slept badly every night I was there. Sweated profusely.

I can imagine someone writing a great novel in that room, during a cool spell. It is a magnificent room and the hotel is well-placed to the train station, not a long walk from the market and the river, the buffet is quirky but good (bacon was only available one day and no more was made, but the fruit bowl was always well stocked and the cheese and bread were delicious), staff were friendly.

But untenable during spring and summer.

The hotel in centrally located in Turku and has it's own parking area. Our room was small, one of us had either to sit or stay in bed for the other to move around. Breakfast was good. Service with a smile but totally impersonal.

We (two adults and two children aged 11 &12) stayed here and had a wonderful time. It was so lovely to stay at such an individual place with marvellously helpful and friendly staff.
The hotel is spotlessly clean which shows the care and attention to detail of the staff given the number of decorative items there are.
Location is fabulous for the town and the station.
Thorough recommend. Would stay again.

The Park hotel in Turku is a great experience all-to-gether. The hotel is located in a peaceful and green park area and at the centre of the city. The location allowed us to walk everywhere: to the Dome Church, to the Theatre, to the Art Galleries, to the riverside etc.
The rooms were very cosy, the hotel staff was professional and the breakfast was very good.
We will return to the Park hotel Turku.

I enjoyed staying here. The hotel appears as if nothing major has changed the past 50 years and it is like entering a time bubble. A few things (e.g., the shower cabins) would benefit from replacement, but mostly it is great atmosphere and lovely old furniture in a splendid building in a top location.
