The hotel is around a 30-minute walk to the city centre, but there are buses that can drop you off near the hotel (only a 5-minute walk to the nearest bus stop). It's in a slightly unusual location on a kind of industrial estate, but it's quiet and feels safe as you walk around. The keycode system is a little odd - we didn't know if the code for our room would also work to get in to the main building; sometimes it seemed to work, and other times it didn't. This can be quite stressful as the reception desk isn't manned 24 hours a day, so when it didn't work for us late one evening, we panicked a bit. There's no lift, so this isn't a great place for the less mobile or those with heavy bags. I would also have preferred to have a kettle in the room, so you could make hot drinks whenever you wanted without having to walk downstairs. The rooms also aren't very soundproof. The room itself was fairly basic, but the bed was comfortable, though only had one pillow per person. Overall, it's fine for a short stay, especially if you're just looking for a place to rest your head while visiting Tampere for an event. To me, it seemed more like a 2* hotel than 3*.

We visited Tampere for a couple of weeks, our accommodation was calm and the hotel is not bad. But the price much exceeded the service level. You need to walk 1.5 KM to reach the city center. Personally, I felt I was in prison bcz of the safety system they used.

Clean and good hotel for the price. It's a 30 minute walk from the city center, so take that into consideration when booking. You get a digital code to enter the building and your room which we found convenient. The breakfast didn't have that many options and there was only a coffee machine.

I stayed in the Mango Hotel in Tampere for 2 or 3 nights, and I have to say that I don't have many complaints about the hotel at all. The rooms were very cute and though a little small, they were very comfortable. The decor is darling, and antique-esque. You have your own private bathroom that is spotless (the room is too by the way), and hutches and such to store your clothing.

The thing to know about this hotel is that there is no front desk/reception process at all. As far as I know, all bookings are made online, and in your confirmation email, you get your room number, along with a keycode that will grant you access to the building and your room -- so don't lose them!!
The good thing to this system is that you don't have to check-in, sign, etc. So if you come in on a late flight, just catch a cab (around 20-25 euro from the airport to the hotel), use your code to get in and go right to your room.
The downside is that during the night, there is no hotel staff in the building, should you need anything. So basically it's like a home-away-from-home kind of thing. They are there all day, though, and prepare a free Scandinavian buffet-style breakfast, free of charge.

Another thing to know is that it is not in the center of town. I was car-less and wasn't staying long enough to get to know the Tampere bus routes, so we did have to walk to the centre, but don't worry, it's barely anything. A mere 10 minutes walk, once you know the way.

At 55 euro a night, it's quite good for a private room in Finland. I'd stay there again.

We made a booking for this hotel for one night. Unfortunately we could not check in due to an accident. I had made the booking through Booking.com and I was very much aware of the cancellation policy i.e free cancellation prior 48 hours. Less than that - full payment.

Mr. Sataya from Mango Hotel phoned me around 10 p.m. and apologized for the late call. He asked if we are going to check in later at that day/night. When I told him that we are not coming but I shall however pay for the no show, he made me an unexperienced proposal.

I was offered a free night in the future because we could not stay now. He also confirmed it by e-mail.
Ten days later we visited Tampere and we used this remarkable opportunity. I have never heard of this kind of generousity.

The hotel is situated abt. 2 kilometers from the city center. The area is quiet, lots of parking area and everything is in good order. Hotel has no reception but they will send a code number which is the key for all necessary doors. Very practical and simple. If you do not have a car, many busses seem to pass by a bigger street some 150 meters away. This is also on the "right" side of the city if you are coming to the airport.

The room was big enough for two people, the bed was comfortable and the shower excellent. Outside it was silent the whole night, no night clubs or bars disturbing your sleep. If you are looking for a clean and safe accomodation - here you have it. City prices are all over 100 euros here you have value for money.

Breakfast was not like in Hilton, Marriott or Meriden but more than enough. Food quality was good and variation more than sufficient.

We visited Tampere for three days & so was looking for somewhere to stay that still left us some spending money, so this fitted the bill. It is, as other reviews have said, a self service hotel. The first thing to master is, how to open the security doors whilst holding two hot drinks. There are no coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms, so you need to go to the self service breakfast room (from our room, that's two coded doors to go through). At night there is no milk, so you have to settle for what is on offer from the, very efficient machine. The rooms are comfortable & furnished in Indian style, after all, it is an Indian owned hotel. There is also a coded door at front of hotel. The hotel is a 20 minute walk from town, but that saves forking out 6 Euros each way for a couple. It is situated on an industrial area, but it is quiet at night. My only concern would be in event of fire, because of the numerous security doors, but I'm sure this issue is considered by fire service during inspections. I'm undecided as to whether we'd stay here again. But if you're on a budget, it's fine.

This was a very nice and clean hotel sadly let down by lack of reception staff and very poor breakfast. On our first day there was no butter when asking for some I was told abruptly it's all gone. Coffee machine broke down on our 3rd day and there was no one there to ask this time.

I stayed in this hotel for two nights in May 2013.

Positives:

- it's cheap
- the booking and arrival were very easy. The door code system worked well.
- the neighbourhood was very quiet.

Negatives:

- despite having to enter the key code four times to get to my room, it didn't feel secure. There was no additional bolt or lock that I could secure from the inside as in other hotel rooms. I was constantly wondering who else might have the code.
- I had a single room that shared a bathroom with one other room. The bathroom was not cleaned during my two-night stay. There was no soap in the bathroom (or the room).
- Although my bed was made, the towels were not changed.
- There were no amenities in the room.
- it took about 30 minutes to walk to central Tampere.
- breakfast was not good. Every item (yogurt, bread, juice, meats) was clearly of the lowest quality.

Small, cheap hotel with small dose of royal atmosphere. "Sleep like a royal" was maybe too much to say but the room was way more personal than most of the dull hotel rooms we have been. Breakfast was pretty good for the price.
