This modern hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the train station, though I took a taxi and paid €25 to get there. I traveled from Helsinki on the Intercity Direct train, which was a comfortable journey with few stops. The trip from Helsinki to Tampere takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes, making it quite convenient to visit multiple cities while staying in Helsinki.

The hotel has a stylish reception area and a welcoming restaurant/bar section. Unfortunately, I arrived late in the evening and didn’t get a chance to enjoy the facilities, but I’d recommend setting aside time to do so.

The room was a comfortable size with good lighting, best suited for leisure stays. However, as a business traveler, I found it lacking a proper desk—only a small coffee table was provided. In the future, I would check this detail before booking.

The bed had a futon-like texture, and the pillows were neither goose feather or Tempur. (I may have too high expectations because I often stay at 5 star hotels because of the beds and pillows). While the service was good and the overall atmosphere was excellent, I feel the quality of the bed, pillows, and duvet could be improved. Some other four-star hotels in a similar price range offer better bedding. That said, I enjoyed my stay and may return in the future.

Beautiful hotel with a very nice reception with "fireplace". Breakfast is very complete and very quality. The rooms are very good and spacious. It is located next to the train station and has parking (which costs 12 euros if you are a member of the hotel chain).

The Lapland Hotel in Tampere is a very nice hotel that is relatively centrally located.
The rooms are small but modern and attractively decorated.
The breakfast was delicious. You can have fresh fried eggs (unfortunately, the scrambled eggs are not so delicious).
There were very delicious salmon and other fish dishes for breakfast.
We also used the sauna, unfortunately we lacked the relaxation room.
In the evenings in the bar we drank very delicious cocktails and mocktails with local ingredients.

We stayed here for one night because of Robbie Williams concert in the nearby Nokia Arena. This was the first time we visited the hotel and because of the good reviews expectations were high.

Our room was room 730 on the 7th floor ( Mystique Deluxe with sauna) and the price was 330e/night. The room was very clean but much smaller than what the pictures suggested, the view from the window was that of the wall and roof of the adjacent building. There were no closets for storage of clothes or shoes and no place were to put the suitcases.

The sauna was tiny but with rather steep steps and nothing to hold on to upon access. Otherwise the sauna was very nice giving just the right heat for an enjoyable sauna experience.

The room was very quiet and the bed was excellent. There was however something wrong with the curtains that left light pouring into the room despite the curtains beeing closed.

The interior access to the nearby concert venue is fantastic and parking in the Aimo park Arena works very well indeed. The breakfast is fabulous!!

I overnighted here once when it was Holiday Inn and now in refurbished Lapland Hotel. Difference was like day and night.
Upon arrival staff welcomed us warmly. Health issues were explained and allergens were asked. Hotel offers masks and hand sanitisers all over the place at reception. Then I saw people running around without masks even that they are required, so it is partly just "health wash."
Our room was small standard room, with full carpet and dark coloured decorations, making room bit heavy. Bed was firm and felt excellent. There was a TV, a kettle and an ironing board, which had so much dust on it, that it had never been used most likely.
Bathroom had sliding frozen glass door, so when bathroom had lights on, it also shared some light to the room. Amenities were in big spenders, which is environmentally good option, offering soap, shampoo and conditioner. I was missing (hand) lotion.
Hotel has a sauna at top floor, offering nice view over the city. Due health reasons, only one person can use it at the time, but you can't reserve it. There was no queue, so it worked without a problem, though I would prefer reservation.
Breakfast was now prepacked due health reasons and you needed to pick it up from breakfast room. Of course against a fee, you can have room service. As a tip, ask real knife from the kitchen, spreading a butter on the bread is easier then. Of course this a temporary due corona restrictions.

Dear Guest, Thank you for the review. We take health issues very seriously and as you noticed we offer masks and sanitasers all over the hotel's public areas. Unfortunately, if a guest has a medical reason not to wear a mask, we can not force them to do so. I am glad to hear that you liked our beds, amenities and saunas. And I am really sorry about the problems with the cleaning. I have forwarded this to our housekeeping. Hopefully we will see you here again some time. Have a lovely spring time! Best Regards, Henna, reception, Lapland Hotels Tampere

I give it the highest score although some aspects could be better. However, the hotel is truly very functional, comfortable and with a high level of service. Large rooms equipped with every comfort, starting with bathrobes and slippers for the sauna (on the top floor, not large but very nice and with a view of the city) and ending with a coffee machine with pods. Be careful though, some products on the counter in the rooms are actually paid for. There is no wardrobe. Large and comfortable bed. Bathroom, in our room, overlooked the bed, and this can create problems if you are not alone. Sami decor, with reindeer skins and antlers on all the walls. Breakfast room on the ground floor very scenic, but a little crowded given the size of the hotel. Mainly savory breakfast, few sweets and not much. Very attentive and professional staff. Convenient location behind the station but in a quiet area: it is the street that leads to the university. Expensive price, considering the Finnish prices and the quality of the service it's okay. Advised.

The hotel has a great fire and ice theme. And if you've ever watched the TV show Game of Thrones, the piped in music in the halls reminded me of the show.

The decor is mostly black and grey, and the hotel is part of an arena that hosts music, sports and other events. Lots of wooden reindeer, candles, antlers and unique lights resembling icicles.

The food was so unique – and good – and the décor presentation whether it is birch wood, stone, paper/burlap bag for food, etc. in the hotel restaurant was very original from what I've ever seen before. For example, the bread was served on a wood slice, which is not that unusual, but the butter was on a piece of rock.

My only concern was the size of the rooms. They were very small and cramped, but since my husband and I were only there one night it didn't make that much of a difference. But if I was to stay for a few days, not having a desk in the room would have been an issue.

This was my second visit in Lapland Hotel Tampere - and surely not the last one!

Hotel staff is kind and the check-in was really quick. Our room had nice views to the street, the room was clean, well decorated and we did not hear any noises during the night. Bed was good too.

Breakfast of this hotel is REALLY good! Multiple healthy options, wonderful flavors from both Lapland and Tampere.

Lapland Hotel Tampere's own parking is easy to use and the location of the hotel is great!

A little mess up with the reservation, when I made the reservation, they didn't ask me which of two Lapland hotels I'd like to stay the night at. Of course we drove to wrong one. The receptionist didn't suggest if we wanted to stay there instead of driving forward and pay 2 euros for parking for 5 minutes stay, obviously the wrong one didn't have vacancy?
Anyhow the receptionist at the right hotel was very friendly and was sorry for the situation, made our day by updating the room to the better one.
The rest of the visit went well. The room was very clean and although I'm not a friend of Lapland, I found the atmosphere still exotic. Also beds and pillows were so firm that no pain in the neck this time.
But the breakfast! So friendly and polite staff there, wished us good mornings many times and the coffee was brought to the table. So many delicious items, smoothies, omelette bar with also a vegan version. Everything so nice and delicious that I absolutely ate way too much.
So try this, it's something different from the hotels you are used to stay at.

The best was the super delicious breakfast and the lounge is also nice. Corona safety was taken seriously like keeping attention to two meter distances and wearing face masks in shared spaces like in the breakfast area and the lounge. Though they should pay more attention to small details in rooms like proper blackout curtains and electric outlets. The location is not perfect, but okay close to the railway station.

Yes, on their website under kitchen and bar Dabbal. Mind you, the hotel has no full restaurant. it's more a bistro type of kitchen. The menu is small and limited. The food is well prepared though, but if you're a picky eater you'd probably better off outside the hotel for a meal.
