I never leave bad reviews, but this time I spend my time to do so, because such behaviour of a hotel manager to clients is a no- go. We were standing at reception waiting to be checked in. No problem. The manager (not sure about the name because he was hiding it after, probably Villi - working in the evening on 01.10.2021), was having a nice talk on the phone, laughing and joking for about 10 minutes without even looking in our direction. Though there was already a line of people with luggage building behind us. When my husband approached him to attract his attention and asked to call one more manager to check-in he answered literally: "What is your problem? Don't you see I am busy". Shock. No comments. Just hope his superior explains to him that this is not the way he should talk to clients, who stand in front of him at the reception. All the rest was fine. Clean stylish hotel.

The hotel is nice, but when motoring it is advicable no to use underground garage, unless you drive a minicar. With a mid-size car ( Passat), you'd better have a co-pilot to help you maneuver through the steep and narrow ramp and park betwwen the concrete pillars. Btw. rooms with twin bed do not have a fridge. Breakfast good, but no local delicatess, " black sausage" available.

Short term booking - and ended up with a room for over 200 EUR. So, there is some expectations - but hotel was quite shabby from outside, lobby was okay, 3rd floor hallway on way to the room was spotted with something, hotel room itself not really clean, very noisy, the bathroom was really out of shape - too lazy too add pictures now., the beds were quite uncomfortable with wide spot between the two mattresses (so, no real double bed). Breakfast at next morning was somehow okay - but not very exciting. For a room of 50 EUR I would not complain - but this was a really bad value for money deal. I will never ever go there again.

Dear Flintstone10, thank you for taking time to give this feedback and for visiting us here at Lapland Hotels Tampere. I want to offer my deepest apologies for not exceeding you expectations for the stay. We take pride in putting our guestst first and creating a memorable environment for a true Laplandish atmosphere. This time our effort was obviously not succesful. I want to assure you that all of your comments have been shared with the hotel team as a teachable moment. The magic is in the details and we should always take care of our hotel as well as our guests. Thank you once more for writing this honest feedback, and I truly wish to see you back in Tampere, maybe in Lapland Hotels Areena after our opening. Best regards, Mirella Reception

The location of Lapland Hotels Tampere is very good. It is situated on a side street behind the railway station. The hotel is located near Sorsapuisto Park, Moomin Museum and some good restaurants. They lend bicycles but there is only very short walking distance to the city center. We had a stylish Deluxe King Room on the fifth floor. Every floor has an own theme from Lapland. The theme of our floor was Christmas Land and a big photo of Santa Claus greeted us in the lobby. We had a big television, a safety deposit box, a water kettle, a Cupsolo coffee maker, bathrobes, slippers, an iron and an ironing board in our room. Our bathroom with a bathtub was quite spacious. The quality of bathroom cosmetics was excellent. The Arctic Pine trademark includes high quality products: hand soap, shower gel, shampoo, bubble bath, conditioner and body lotion. I especially loved the fragrance of hand soap: very pleasant pine forest. I almost addicted to it. There was a shower on the bathtub and it was easy to take a shower without watering the whole bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable. I almost gave the rating of five stars to this hotel. However, the bathroom looked a bit old and the air-conditioning system wasn't very functional. There was a self-adjustable temperature controller next to the bed in the room. We had a heatwave in Finland and the temperature of the room was quite OK. It could have been a bit colder. There was another controller in the vestibule. However, we didn't know, what it was. Was it the controller of air-conditioning, heating or the underfloor heating system of the bathroom? There could be a sign next to the controller. We could hear some noise from the street and other rooms but that didn't disturb our sleep quality. Breakfast was excellent. It wasn't very abundant but they had some very interesting specialties, e.g. black sausage made of reindeer, spruce sprout green smoothie and blueberry juice. They also had an omelette station. The cook baked fresh omelets. I chose an omelet with smoked reindeer and cheese. The breakfast room is very cozy. There are interesting details from Lapland there. Besides, they have a summer terrace. So you can enjoy your breakfast outside if the weather is good. It was also very nice that there wasn't too crowded at the breakfast. The restaurant of the hotel is named Dabbal. It is one of the most interesting restaurants in Tampere.

Dear Jari, thank you for you kind words and for taking time to write this feedback. It gives me great joy to notice that you truly enjoyed our hospitality and Lapland atmosphere. We take great pride in putting our guests first and delivering memorable experiences througout our guests' stay, and experiences like these just light up our days. I do apologize for the air-conditioning that you felt was not enough. This Summer has been like no other, and heatwaves have caused us a bit of a struggle, but I am confident we will find solutions to the changing climate soon enough. Thank you once more for staying with us and we hope to see you back here in the future. Have a lovely Summer. Best regars, Mirella / reception

I overnighted here once when it was Holiday Inn and now in refurbished Lapland Hotel. Difference was like day and night. Upon arrival staff welcomed us warmly. Health issues were explained and allergens were asked. Hotel offers masks and hand sanitisers all over the place at reception. Then I saw people running around without masks even that they are required, so it is partly just "health wash." Our room was small standard room, with full carpet and dark coloured decorations, making room bit heavy. Bed was firm and felt excellent. There was a TV, a kettle and an ironing board, which had so much dust on it, that it had never been used most likely. Bathroom had sliding frozen glass door, so when bathroom had lights on, it also shared some light to the room. Amenities were in big spenders, which is environmentally good option, offering soap, shampoo and conditioner. I was missing (hand) lotion. Hotel has a sauna at top floor, offering nice view over the city. Due health reasons, only one person can use it at the time, but you can't reserve it. There was no queue, so it worked without a problem, though I would prefer reservation. Breakfast was now prepacked due health reasons and you needed to pick it up from breakfast room. Of course against a fee, you can have room service. As a tip, ask real knife from the kitchen, spreading a butter on the bread is easier then. Of course this a temporary due corona restrictions.

Dear Guest, Thank you for the review. We take health issues very seriously and as you noticed we offer masks and sanitasers all over the hotel's public areas. Unfortunately, if a guest has a medical reason not to wear a mask, we can not force them to do so. I am glad to hear that you liked our beds, amenities and saunas. And I am really sorry about the problems with the cleaning. I have forwarded this to our housekeeping. Hopefully we will see you here again some time. Have a lovely spring time! Best Regards, Henna, reception, Lapland Hotels Tampere
