Feeling of 90s retro hotel with mold smell on entrance would have made me turn away in case all hotels in center wouldn't have been fully booked. Breakfast with plastic bacon did not convince and salad portion from the restaurant looked and tasted old (left uneaten) and spoiled the evening - according waitress it was as it should be. With over 200€/night I would have expected more.
I didn;'t stay but had a marvelous dinner here; conveniently located right near the train station. I had a good meal after a day walking all over Tampere. The price was right and the food very good. You can;'t beat it.
Scandic Tampere Station is located just by the railway station. It is a friendly hotel to overnight just in the downtown. The room was clean. A friendly staff. A wide Nordic breakfast table. The signing in and out can be done by the app (this was very nice in a full hotel).
I booked hotel to stay there with my 5 year old. From the hotel it was easy and short distance to go almost to every interesting corner of Tampere by walking (museums and shopping mall). My 5-year old was more than excited about the bath in the tub where he was able to go in the evening - took some will to get him out from there ;) Breakfast in slots was great as the hotel was fully booked; there was all the time space for everyone and didn't feel too crowded. Also there was no need to wait for something from kitchen. New servings came on regular bases and staff was all the time following situation. Only one thing that would make it even more superior stay: it would be great to have real tea on breakfast - not tea bags!
The hotel was perfect for one night: near the railway station and Nokia Arena, in the city center. Very nice breakfast and easygoing feeling. (Except for one lady in reception) Overnight parking expensive but there is free street parking from 4pm ->.
I stayed with a toddler for a one-night layover on a domestic trip. The hotel is very centrally located, like the name implies. Note that the accessible (no-step) route from the station is via the *southern* concourse, not the central one which is closest to the main station hall. The room was clean and elegant, and air-conditioned with manual thermostat (ie. you cannot set the desired temperature directly). No blinds, though - the curtain was not that thick, and if you need a well darkened room to sleep properly, pay attention in the summer. The sun shone directly into our room until about 10 pm. The buffet breakfast had a nice selection of foods, including the Tampere specialty "mustamakkara" (blood sausage) - do try it!
Very nice hotel in Tampere center close to university and everything in city center, railway station and restaurants, museums, clean and modern rooms, moderate prices, I can recommend for any business travelers or tourists .
Very modern Hotel with a good location just next to the railway station. Good breakfast and nice room though I desperately needed a body lotion which wasn’t available. We also arranged the meeting there and everything went smoothly. Good conference hotel
Parking is a big issue for the hotel. They have only 50 car parks in their own building and those can not be reserved Once you drive out, there is no certainty you will have a spot when you return. If their park is full, you need to drive to the reception which is surpricinly long and confusing route due a reconstruction next to the hotel, you will be given a map to a "collaboration park". This park is not the next to the hotel but a driving distance with poor markings and very difficult to navigate as there are no guide signs even for exit. Imagine this when you arrive after a long day at the work and then next morning when you are in a hurry to begin with as the breakfast starts so late you dont practically have commuting time to begin with. You have to haul heavy luggage through snow and lush, try to locate the car and how to get to the right floor. I dont understand why the hotel doesnt contract with the nearest park house which is next to the hotel. If I could choose again, I would go straight to that parking house and not even bother their own. Stating this the reception is just "sorry to hear". …
Very good location, nearby city and station. Breakfast was actually great! Very clean hotel. Friendly personnel. The bed was very comfortable. In the rooms there should be coffee or tea available as there is in some other Scandics.
