Stayed for two nights with family. Old hotel that needs renovation. When going to sleep noticed that bed had linens with obvious blood stains and loads of dust and hair under the mattress. Unusual to run into these kind of things in a hotel that is part of a large chain.

Hotel's Favourite
Great location in center of Tampere, rooms facing the river have very nice view. Breakfast was standard. There is a playroom, sauna and swimming pool in the basement free to use. Next to the hotel is a great playground. Most things in Tampere are within walking distance. Moving around the hotel with a baby stroller was easy, and the hotel provided us with a potty and a crib for the baby.

Was dreading going to this hotel after reading the reviews. Had booked a twin and was given a double, this was sorted out quickly. Yes the hotel is older but it was clean, the beds were comfortable and the twin room was spacious and so was the bathroom, not all twin rooms and bathrooms are the same size as some are smaller. This room did have a safe which was locked on arrival and was sorted really quickly. Not all rooms have safes. There was an iron and ironing board in the room. The fridge did not work and was not fixed during our stay but they let us use the fridge at reception. The rooms don't have kettles but you can request one if they are available which we got. No air conditioning but the room was cool. No view from the room but that didn't bother us. Did not try the pool and sauna so cannot comment on. Breakfast was amazing, loads to choose from and was always replenished really quickly. Tables were cleared quickly and all the staff were friendly, hard working and helpful. The hotel location is spot on with loads of restaurants and shops nearby. Transport around Tampere is first class. We only had breakfast in the hotel which was of high quality but cannot comment regarding dinner as we ate out. The Faasai Thai restaurant round the corner from the hotel was amazing. …

Nightmare location Avoid this hotel if you intend to drive here as the roads all round are blocked off by road works, the basement car park is closed and best of all the hotel cannot be bothered to warn you. Even worse they did not seem concerned when we complained. We wasted an hour driving in circles. Stay somewhere else.

Worst customer service ever, please avoid with kids!! :( We had group of 8 this evening, included twins 15 years old, others were adults. We spent few hours at the Moe's terrace, twins had few ice cream portions etc. Suddenly VERY RUDE waitress with negative attitude informed infront of people that twins are not welcomed and they should leave now, because they are not adults. Any negative feedback to underage kids infront of everyone is absolutely no-go for me as a mother. We have visited Scandic Koskipuisto many times, never again. Doorman Matti was nice and friendly to everyone, 10 points for trying to keep up the spirit.

Sometimes multiple things go wrong. This time the bathroom was lacking toilet paper, paper tissues and washing liquid. The breakfast room was in a chaos. The tables were full of dirty dishes and the waitresses worked like zombies. The food was OK, but the surroundings were terrible. And there was no AC in the room. However the price was high, so I cannot recommend this hotel unless you like to throw your money away and feel miserable while doing it!

Scandic usually comes with a standard level of comfort and rooms. This hotel does the same but it is a very dated Scandic hotel in dire need of a facelift. Old rooms lacking todays standards with comfy beds and small things like usb chargers in the wall, casting possibilities to the TV which a more modern Scandic usually have. Pillows and blankets was a bit smelly and the showers could need to be sanitized better, with black spots and other suspicious marks in them. Wi-fi and Internet coverage, and even mobile coverage was spotty to say the least. The good things with the hotel is its location and the huge parking garage (1000 spots apparently) under it. Breakfast is decent and just standard for Finland. Staff was friendly! Would not return before this place has a total renovation.…

Unfortunately, Scandic Tampere Koskipuisto as a hotel experience was very bad for me, who travels a lot and has seen different hotels in different parts of Finland, Europe and the world. The interior style of the hotel room was from the 1980s; very variegated and restless in terms of color and decor, dark and the furniture uneven and old. The hotel rooms were decorated in a very unprofessional manner, and they did not correspond to the harmonious, timeless interior design styles of 21st century hotels. The entrance hall of the hotel, with dark color scheme, darkness and low-level interior design, also represented the hotel standard left over from the 1980s, as well as the restaurant. In the 2020 century, hotels with such low-quality, old-fashioned and very unstylish interiors should no longer exist. This was a shame to see and experience, because the location of the hotel is in an excellent location! Unfortunately, I can't recommend this hotel to customers who appreciate the modern, aesthetically timeless, harmonious, stylish decoration level and the hotel's customer service, which shows a constant ability to renew itself in this time. Location and service are absolutely excellent. Breakfast was also excellent, multiple styles of bacon, mushrooms, beans and scrambled eggs . Extra thanks for gluten free portion on it. Too bad the interior is little bit outdated.
