Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed in appartaments which situated on Aleksanterinkatu 20 B, in the very centre. Location makes everything best. Situated in living house. Plenty of space when you live alone like me, when there are 4 people how it is supposed to be - I am not sure. Kitchen area is tiny. No wardrobes. Kind of difficult to find where to plug computer in to have an opportunity to work on the table.
Reception situated in living house. Entrace from backyard and iron gates make the perfect illusion that place is closed. Actually gates are open - just push/pull harder.
Staff may speak English poorly, but still friendly.

Stayed in Aug 2004. Its good value for money and was quiet. Good for train station and centre. Long term residents were a bit strange, but ok. Reception closed at night so make arrangements to get key.

Firstly, the business badly needs a sign that is visible from the street. It took me half an hour to find the "hotel" once I had found the street and I had to ask several people (it's in a back court through a metal grill door). Secondly there is no notice on how to contact reception when it is unmanned (in fairness, I arrived 30+ minutes late). I walked back to the railway station to find a public phone, but there was none. I thought of sleeping in the station or lobby, but eventually managed to contact the owner through an English/Finnish-speaking taxi driver. In the end, I was shown to a nice flat above the standard I had paid for in another street and everything was fine from then on. Without a central reception and single location, it is not really a hotel, but an apartment rental business. As a business, it has some good assets and the owner was helpful once I contacted him, but the guest arrival procedure needs to be rethought.

Booked this as a budget hotel in Tampere but I really got more than expected. A very spacious room with a little refrigerator, TV and bathroom en-suire together with a nice view of the street. The residence was very quiet. Some of the longterm residents were a bit strange but we never felt unsafe.

Beware that reception is usually closed at night and on Sunday, however they have devised a method how to let you have the room key if you arrive on a Sunday. The room rate (which was very cheap given that this is Finland) includes a weekly visit to the sauna.

I would definitely recommend this one.

We booked this hotel at a fare price at Tampere center. It's all about the location, but nothing else. I would say it's a cheap hotel for one night stay but I didn't quite feel it was a "hotel", more like a hostel. Beds were uncomfortable and the springs were broken in one of our beds. Pillows were flat. Bed sheets were dirty. Rooms were very ascetic. There is a kitchen, fridge and a tv in lobby if you want to use them.
The price was very reasonable so you can't argue about that.
