The staff was friendly and the breakfast was simple but good. Location was excellent and the room was clean. However, even though we were in the hotel side, it didn't really feel like a hotel but a hostel room with our own shower. It is a cheap option but it's also a bit underwhelming. The hotel/hostel is really near the moomin museum so if you plan to visit it then that's a good choice. They also have a great selection of board games in the common room/breakfast area! Keep in mind that the walls are rather thin and the soundproofing quite poor so either don't shout or hope you have quite neighbours.
It's one of the places with better Value in Tampere. The double rooms are quite small but clean. Breakfast is good and the staff is friendly. There's not a lot to complain about (for Hostel standard) but the thing I did not like was that there was some kind of air ventilation in the room which was quite noisy and we were unable to turn it of. I had to sleep with earplugs as I found this noise quite annoying. Other than that I can recommend this place..!
The room is clean but plain: white textiles and light wood might give off a clinical vibe. So many power outlets, I counted eight and then two more in the bathroom! Service is lovely though, nice receptionists and I overheard how the receptionist asked a couple their breakfast wishes for the next morning, since they were to be the only customers! Basic breakfast, but served its purpose. Glutenfree options were well available when requested. The hotel room itself is quiet, but not fully dark: dim lights behind the ceiling panels stayed on the whole night above the door. They didn't bother my sleep though, perhaps prevented claustrophobic feels since there wasn't a window :)
I was staying for two nights with my daughter on the hotel side. With very high expectations especially for the service - as they advertise on their website the best service on the world and they understand the needs of travelling families. Honestly, I would like to like this place more, as you can still see some hints of the idea of the founders. Unfortunately the service we got was below average - not really bad, but not good either. Certainly not what advertised! We had double room for two, and it was really small. The bed is appr 140 cm or even less, so this information I would expect to find from the room description (for hotel double bed I would expect min 160 cm). The room was also very very small, of course the other areas (kitchen, lobby etc) was compensating it a bit. Unfortunately these areas were not cleaned even once a day, so they were bit untidy. It’s nice idea that guests will vlean after themselves, but not really working in total. Also there would be room to improve the cleaning of the rooms - there were plenty of dust and sand in every place, where possible. With proper housekeeping and more thorough cleaning would give a small facelift for the hotel rooms. …
Dream hostel and hotel is the best place to stay in Tampere. It has comfortable beds, very clean bathrooms and provides you with a delicious breakfast (optional). It's been a great experience and I'm looking forward to come back. Thanks guys!
This hostel is ideal if you want to sleep in a cosy place for cheap. Rooms, toilets and bathroom are clean. The receptionist was very friendly and helped me to find my way. It was calm during the night. + : You can do the check-in after 22h, there is still somebody. /!\ if you sleep in the hostel, you have to do your bed with the bedsheets (I don't know for the hotel).
Very central location, clean rooms, good reception, nice kitchen, nothing to complain about really. We arrived for early check-in and it was possible to have the room earlier which was a nice surprise.
I was staying at dream hostel for three nights with a friend. We liked it very much, because the room was nice (maybe a little bit small for two people, but ok) and everyone there was very friendly and helpfull, if we needed help! There is free WiFi and there is also a kitchen what you can use to cook something. The breakfast is fresh and tasty! We'll come again! :D
We stayed here recently, travelling as a sports team. Was handy to have the option of hostel or hotel rooms for large mixed group. Rooms were quite compact but all you really need when you are staying for a few days. Good location, walking distance to train station and close to lots of supermarket shops if you need groceries. Good selection for breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful.
We stayed as part of a group of 17. For the first 2 nights of our stay we were in the hotel, for our last night we were in the hostel. The hotel was nice, clean and had a very nice atmosphere. The bed was very comfy, and the room was basic but did exactly what we needed it too. The reception is across the road, with the breakfast/lunch room and the sauna. Breakfast was a buffet and was very nice. The sauna was even better, its €5 with hotel discount. It's very clean, with 2 saunas, a zen room, Male and female changing rooms and a common area with showers to cool down. There is also a bell to get drinks from the bar. Hostel was ok, we only used the room we didnt use the kitchen or common areas. It was very loud as there was a school group in and they were running up and down the hallway. Would visit again, especially for the same price! It's a 10 minute walk from everything: shops, train station, cafes, shopping centres. …
