The hotel was perfectly located for walking round Rauma. The room was lovely and the service good. The breakfast had less of a range compared to the other hotels we have been in during our stay in Finland but still adequate! There is a restaurant too but there were lots of nice places to eat in Rauma

We stayed one night during our short visit to Old Town Rauma. The location of the hotel is perfect and the functionalist building cute, but the room interior was dark and a bit shabby. I guess there was no air-conditioning either. The breakfast excellent, very fresh with good gluten-free bread and granola.

Lovely small hotel in the heart of Rauma. Hotel room was big and designed very well. The hotel room almost felt like a small trendy apartment. It definitely had everything you could need during your for example weekend stay. The room temperature could have been higher but otherwise I've only positive things to say about my stay in this hotel.

A hotel in Rauma that breathes the atmosphere of old times. Yes, everything was better before and that also applies to hotels in a excellent location. In a hotel room, old-time dignity in a good way. Window sills and sturdiness in furniture. The windows have good awnings and lots of windows that can be opened because there is naturally no air conditioning. All this beats modern nonsense. Then when the room still had a good shower, a good bed, a good pillow and friendly staff in the hotel, and the breakfast was also comprehensive. So what else does it really need? Nothing. Special mention to the staff for good and humane service. I also thank you for the possibility of parking a motorcycle, which was helpfully arranged. I also thank the person who has chosen respa's tasty hard traditional candies. I ate quite a few of them and put a couple more in my pocket 😚

Nice Boutique Hotel in Old Town Rauma near the old church ruin, with large good rooms and nice bathroom. The staff is friendly and the hotel serves a decent breakfast. A good choice for your stay in Rauma. They also have a private parking space for your car

Selected hotel due to location in the old cente. Very friendly reception staff who have some historic info about Rauma. Received upgraded business room. Good advice for restaurant. Most restaurants are closed on Monday. Room is clean and minibar full. Breakfast was oke. Lovely lemoncake.

Hotel is located at the edge of Raum’s charming old town (somehow when booking I got the impression that is located in one of the wood heritage buildings which is not the case). We had a superior room which was very spacious and tasteful furnished. Small, but good breakfast, free parking behind the hotel.

The hotel 'Vanha Rauma' (old Rauma) is the closest of all hotels to the old part of the town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its approximately 600 wooden houses. The hotel is not part of them. On the contrary it is a flat roofed former warehouse built with concrete in the functionalist style of the 1930's.

It faces the ruins of the Holy Trinity Church and on the street in front there is construction work going on for the time being. Parking though was no problem.

The lady at reception, who spoke excellent English, was very friendly and communicative. She also helped us with the luggage by taking us into the antique elevator, whose use is reserved to the staff only since one has to handle a lever inside to make it start. It was quite fun.

Since the hotel closes between 10 and 11pm, one gets with check-in a four-digit code, to be used for a codelock at the backdoor after these hours. On the other hand breakfast gets served already as of 6.30am, which is early for Finland.

My twin bedded room had an attractive design kept in black and white, as most of the hotel. It was also spacious enough and had all one needs. The only negative thing about my stay here was the very bad air coming out of the bathroom, when I opened its door. My suspicion was confirmed by the receptionist, who told me that due to work going on this room hadn't been used for over a month, and obviously nobody has ever opened the bathroom door in all this time. Unfortunately the bad smell of that air also enveloped the bedroom well into the night.

The only international news channel on TV was the French '24 heures' - in English. The free WiFi with a password worked well.

Breakfast was adequate. A buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, but also hard-boiled eggs, cheese, cold cuts, lettuce, red bell peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes and various breads. Available were also plain yoghurt, berry compote, fresh fruit, cornflakes and muesli.

At the hotel restaurant, called 'S.J.Nypper' there is a served lunch and dinner available and when browsing throught the menu card we saw that the choice looked good with 'Grilled Fish of the Day' and many other tasty dishes, but we had already made a reservation at another restaurant.

Although this may not be the smartest and most modern of hotels, it had such a good, welcoming feeling that we are already looking forward to a return visit. The position is ideal especially for a weekend if you want to explore the lovely old wooden town of Rauma by foot, you really get a feel of how it must have been years ago. The building itself doesn't match the surrounding wooden buildings, but don't be off put by that, as inside it's clean and cosy. I think the exterior could do with a coat of paint and new awnings would really lift it. The proprieters and their staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Really excellent breakfast, beautifully presented, fresh and regularly topped up. We ate dinner there too which was just superb. Our room was spacious, yes not luxurious, but quite comfortable. We felt it was nice as tourists to be in a hotel that didn't feel like one from an anonymous chain.
