Noormarkun ruukki on enemmän kuin majoituskohde. Se on upeasti hoidettu entisajan ruukkimiljöö, jossa on edelleen tavallista elämää. Olimme varanneet majoituksen yhdelle yölle, mutta täällä olisi viihtynyt pidempäänkin. Majoitustiloja alueella on useita. Noormarkku Works is more than an accommodation destination. It is a very well-kept works milieu where people still live and work. We had booked accommodation for one night, but could have easily stay here longer. Our accommodation was in Sahala on the 2nd floor, where in addition to the room there were comfortable common areas: sofas, TV and kitchen. Sahala is the former office of Noormarkku sawmill, and right next to the sawmill museum and rapids. I think that the location was very nice. There was no air conditioning in the room, but it was enough for us to open the window (it had a mosquito net). In the heat, of course, this room can be uncomfortable. We also went on both guided tours: a saw mill tour and a garden tour. Villa Mairea tour was not available - those tours are booked till the end of summer already. Our guide was friendly and nice, but since she is the guide of Villa Mairea, the information we received from her was quite general. This time, the garden tour should have been called Noormarkku Works' general tour. We weren’t bothered at all, but if someone was waiting for guidance on the wonders of the garden, he might be disappointed. During our visit delicious food was served at the Noormarkku club. We had dinner and breakfast, which was included in the price of the room, as well as lunch between guided tours. About the dinner and lunch, I will make own review under the Noormarkku club. Breakfast was very good buffet breakfast.

Place should have four stars instead of three. Beautiful and romantic area, nice spacious rooms. Everything was clean and dandy. Good breakfast. Free gym and sauna. Unfortunately on Saturday the restaurant was closed, so we had to go elsewhere.

We enjoyed very much our one night at Noormarkun Ruukki. The historical area is definitely worth exploring on your own. We borrowed bikes from the reception and had a lovely time biking around before dinner. Highly recommended to do this, borrowing bikes was free of charge. Our room in the old Sahala building was very clean and spacious and decorated to suit the surroundings. The only slightly negative part was that the room got a bit hot during the night. The restaurant was nice and we enjoyed having a glass of wine at the sunny patio, overlooking the fields.

+ A charming, well maintained old industry area + Free bike rental for hotel guests was a great possibility, easier to get around a rather large area + Dinner was delicious and there are some local specialities available. Goat cheese salad was probably the best I've ever eaten, burger portion BIG. - Hotel room was nice, but some details could be better: e.g. bathroom was quite small and floor was all wet after taking a shower - Breakfast had a limited tea selection - Hotel rooms are rather pricy (at least during summer season) considering the location in countryside and the fact that rooms are not exceptionally luxurious

This is a longtime developed family business in rural countryside close to Pori city 10 mins by car).  Rooms are located in old countryhouses from late 18th century and well maintained and carefully restored. Facilities are fully modern (WIFI seems to work outside areas too!) except no A/C in the rooms. Area is beautiful respecting the life of the past in form of iron founfry and saw mill and other buildings and sites.  Breakfast was excellent with good variety. Dinner presented local flavors of elk/moose meat, fish and local produces. Just fab!  Everything is clean, service is warm and happy.  If you for once want to enjoy ex-city accomodation this should be your choice!
