Every part of customer service was extremely friendly: booking, checking in and checking out. The hotel is located in an ideal place especially for those who enjoy jogging, walking, running... or have a dog with them. Clean and comfortable rooms and tasty breakfast. Only disappointment worth mentioning was a pretty loud noise from a/c that bothered before falling asleep. When booking, ask for a lakeside view: it is stunning.

You are quite right about the location - outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy easy strolls by the Jyväsjärvi lake and especially if travelling with pets. I'm sorry to hear about the noise from the restaurant. We are very popular company and private party venue because of the summer terrace location. Sometimes the music is too loud. I was driving a long way and needed to find a place to stay over night - and this was perfect for it. It is not far from the center of Jyväskylä, but far enough to have ample parking spaces (free), easy access as you do not have to drive to the very center as well as quiet and peaceful surroundings for a good sleep.
I was travelling alone and my room was small, but it was comfortable and contained everything that I needed (plus a lake scenery as a bonus).
Having slept well it was nice to start the next (driving) day with a good breakfast.

The best part of this hotel is the beautiful location by Jyväsjärvi lake. There is a nice 20-minute walk along the shore to Jyväskylä city center. It is advisable to book a room with lake views. The hotel building is very near the lake and it feels like staying onboard a ship.
We booked the best room category that is Junior Suite. The hotel has 10 of them. Five on the 1st floor and five on the 2nd floor. We got the 2nd-floor corner suite at the end of the building.
For a suite, the room was not so spacious but it was quite practical. The absolute highlight was an own sauna with lake views. The furniture was quite outdated with wear and tear to be seen. Especially the beds should be replaced. They were too soft.
The suite television was small considering the nowadays standards and it was placed too high to be watched from the sofa. The Eurovision Semifinals were on our stay and the television was more important for us than usual.
The breakfast is served at Alba Restaurant with beautiful lake views. It was pleasantly calm on Friday morning. The food selection was quite extensive.
The staff was very friendly.

Hi Mikael F, thank you for the review. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay. JrSuites ( 1 room 28m2 including sauna ) have been the most inquired room type during this summer. The summer was very hot but the individual AC worked great . The furniture - good news. Last week, the desk, coffee table and the night stand has been replaced with new ones to all 10 rooms. They had wear and tear and for the reasons known, we were finally able to get new ones this summer. The televisions will be replaced too in the near future, but soon I hope. The hotel is located on the shore of beautiful Lake Jyväsjärvi, in line of sight of one of University of Jyväskylä's campuses. The city center is a 20-minute walk away. If you plan to spend a lot of time in the room, this may not be a great choice for you as the rooms are small and fairly modestly outfitted. If, however, you plan to sleep there, have breakfast and be away for the day, this is an excellent choice at a reasonable price. The rooms are clean and pleasant, with well outfitted bathrooms and good hot water pressure. Access to high speed internet is unproblematic. Breakfast is included and provides an excellent selection; if you want to fully enjoy it I'd suggest planning to skip lunch. You'll get excellent service at the restaurant, bar and reception. There are two or three beers on tap but you're better off with bottles - this sees to be a more general recommendation in Finland, even in there are many good Finnish beers. The path around the lake is perfectly suited for a jog or a bike ride and the hotel provides bikes at no extra charge. Unfortunately, there is no gym. My only complaint is that smoking is allowed on the beautiful patio and one may get the occasional whiff of cigarette smoke in the rooms situated immediately above. I may be biased because I was there on university business (see campus across the lake in the attached picture) but am definitely looking forward to my next visit.

Wonderful view of Jyväskylä University and lake from the room thats all got those 2 points. Room was clean and had sauna in the room bathroom. No complaints about room. Things started to go downwards when went to restaurant for dinner. Either the waitress had a bad day or dont know her work. Took the food order in a rush but didn't even ask for drinks. Had to ask for a wine / drinks list then waited around 20 min if someone come to ask about my drinks. At the end had to call to ask for water and drinks. Wine list was just basic. Food didn't look like a food from 3 star hotel restaurant. I had a burger and goat cheese salad. It was a dry burger and fortunately Salad didn't need cooking. Breakfast was another let down. Again dry bread and not enough items. Orange juice was water with orange color. Overall splendid room but food and service let it down, hence 2 stars.

While not expecting much, judging by the reviews here, I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are very small, but sufficient and clean. The staff was super frindly, yet a bit slow (in the restaurant). The breakfast was plenty, delicious and very varied. We had one dinner in the restaurant, the menu is intriguing, it was fine cuisine, though pricy, and it's beautiful to sit and eat with the view of the lake, though frozen when I stayed here.

From our first booking conversations with Tommi Sievinen to the warm welcome upon arrival, quality of rooms, dinner and breakfast, we had a very positive experience staying at Hotel Alba. The place is very nice and quiet, with a nearby park where to walk before or after dinner and Jysväkylä lake for a swim. We recommend Hotel Alba.

This hotel is expensive and filthy. The single room is dirty , the bed was literally falling apart. There are noises coming from everywhere during the night. I literally slept 2 hours and woke up with a headache. The receptionists are not kind and they treat you very bad, almost like you annoy them with your presence. Especially the elderly receptionist .I mean I would have never put my foot in that hotel if I have known how it ready is . Avoid !!!

One night stay with dog and we were happy. Good value for money and great breakfast with nice lake view :) There was small "working desk" for remote worker and served well. Clean room and enough parking space. Really good location close city centrum

I was here again after two years. Unfretunately, the overall state of the building and rooms is in need of update.
Minuses: cold room (the heater did not help much) and the low-quality toilet paper.
Pluses: Free parking, friendly service. I have to mention again that the breakfast was indeed very good. They have even improved the food selection since the last time I was here.
