Really liked this hotel a lot. It might be showing it’s age a bit but staff couldn’t be friendlier, the breakfast was great and we appreciated borrowing bikes for free. Then it’s a very short ride into town. Also nice to take a sauna and then a dip into the lake. Parking is free.

Hi MikaelTrivandrum, Thank you for your review and staying with us. It's great to hear that you your stay and the free bikes too. The hotel was built at 1989 and the extencion was made 2007. But of course we do renovation all the time to keep our premices tidy and nice as possible. I'm so happy you got to swimming too - our pier is exactly for our customer use and the Jyväsjärvi water is very refreshing.... oh and if someone did not know yet - you can visit also by boat too... From our first booking conversations with Tommi Sievinen to the warm welcome upon arrival, quality of rooms, dinner and breakfast, we had a very positive experience staying at Hotel Alba. The place is very nice and quiet, with a nearby park where to walk before or after dinner and Jysväkylä lake for a swim. We recommend Hotel Alba.

I was driving a long way and needed to find a place to stay over night - and this was perfect for it. It is not far from the center of Jyväskylä, but far enough to have ample parking spaces (free), easy access as you do not have to drive to the very center as well as quiet and peaceful surroundings for a good sleep. I was travelling alone and my room was small, but it was comfortable and contained everything that I needed (plus a lake scenery as a bonus). Having slept well it was nice to start the next (driving) day with a good breakfast.

This hotel is expensive and filthy. The single room is dirty , the bed was literally falling apart. There are noises coming from everywhere during the night. I literally slept 2 hours and woke up with a headache. The receptionists are not kind and they treat you very bad, almost like you annoy them with your presence. Especially the elderly receptionist .I mean I would have never put my foot in that hotel if I have known how it ready is . Avoid !!!

While not expecting much, judging by the reviews here, I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are very small, but sufficient and clean. The staff was super frindly, yet a bit slow (in the restaurant). The breakfast was plenty, delicious and very varied. We had one dinner in the restaurant, the menu is intriguing, it was fine cuisine, though pricy, and it's beautiful to sit and eat with the view of the lake, though frozen when I stayed here.

One night stay with dog and we were happy. Good value for money and great breakfast with nice lake view :) There was small "working desk" for remote worker and served well. Clean room and enough parking space. Really good location close city centrum

The hotel is located on the shore of beautiful Lake Jyväsjärvi, in line of sight of one of University of Jyväskylä's campuses. The city center is a 20-minute walk away. If you plan to spend a lot of time in the room, this may not be a great choice for you as the rooms are small and fairly modestly outfitted. If, however, you plan to sleep there, have breakfast and be away for the day, this is an excellent choice at a reasonable price. The rooms are clean and pleasant, with well outfitted bathrooms and good hot water pressure. Access to high speed internet is unproblematic. Breakfast is included and provides an excellent selection; if you want to fully enjoy it I'd suggest planning to skip lunch. You'll get excellent service at the restaurant, bar and reception. There are two or three beers on tap but you're better off with bottles - this sees to be a more general recommendation in Finland, even in there are many good Finnish beers. The path around the lake is perfectly suited for a jog or a bike ride and the hotel provides bikes at no extra charge. Unfortunately, there is no gym. My only complaint is that smoking is allowed on the beautiful patio and one may get the occasional whiff of cigarette smoke in the rooms situated immediately above. I may be biased because I was there on university business (see campus across the lake in the attached picture) but am definitely looking forward to my next visit.…

Menu is boring and It looks like a fastfood menu and in this place people are discriminated against for their health condition. Restaurant staff discussing behind customers' backs. I do not advise if you want to have a good service.

And a great choice to book JrSuite room, we have just renewed the desk, nightstands and the coffee table in all of the JrSuites so we think they look nice. We try to maintain the breakfast and limit the ingredients to what we always have available, that limits the variety a little - Oh. Very pleased with this hotel. Room clean with comfortable beds, excellent breakfast served until 11/noon, friendly staff, free parking. Because of the warm weather we took a dip in the lake as well. Only negative was maybe that there was no phone in the room.

Yes - for this summer we have extended the breakfast hours mon-fri until 11.00 and sat-sun until 12:00. Summer has been super busy and extended hours helps during the epidemic our customers to fit in during breakfast more safely and comfortable too. Free parking is not often found in Jyväskylä so it's well greeted by our customers. . Oh and new feature : for electric/hybrid cars we have two charging spots too. You can book the spot and charging is payable at the reception when checking in to hotel. During the room renovation, we gave land line phones in the room some years ago, there were multiple service numbers so to make it easy - all inquiries and requests can be done by cell phone to our one number +35814636311 Thank you again for your views - we hope to see you again soon here at Alba
