Solo Sokos Hotel Paviljonki provides fantastic facilities not only for busy business travellers but also for leisurely holidaymakers. Just a few minutes’ walk away is the Jyvaskyla Travel Centre where buses, trains and the airport bus arrive. The car park building in conjunction with the hotel has plenty of parking space too. Although we have visited Jyväskylä a couple of times, we have never stayed at this award-winning hotel before. Now our main purpose to come to Jyväskylä was to see the new Ultimate Solo Terrace Suites which were added in 2019 when the new hotel extension was completed.
Our suite was ready on arrival at 12:20. A very friendly receptionist asked what we wanted as a welcome gift and when it should be delivered. We opted for sparkling wine. When we came back from our city-center lunch, a bottle of sparkling wine with chocolate was waiting upstairs.
There are two Terrace Suites. Both are very spacious 100 sqm two-story suites on floors 8 and 9. The decor is quite simple but very modern.
Downstairs is the entrance, one bedroom, and a toilet. Upstairs is a connected bedroom and a living room, a huge spa bathroom (a sauna, two showers, a big design bathtub, and two sinks), and a separate toilet. From the bathroom and the bedroom, you have access to a large furnished balcony with panoramic views.
Rooms have very high ceilings. So the spiral staircase connecting the floors is very long. Actually, we would have been very happy to have just the upstairs. Except for the suite entrance, everything we needed was there. The downstairs acted just a large vestibule for us.
The food selection at the breakfast was extensive. Coffee was brought to the table as usual at Solo Sokos Hotels.
Our stay had good value for 337 euros.

This hotel offers the highest quality of accomodation in Jyväskylä. This time I was staying in the Supreme King Room in the old part of the hotel.
Spacious corner room with sauna on the 8th floor. Nice view. Good king-size bed with three choice of pillows. Rooms are clean and still up to date. However, I have to say that I like more conservative interior fabrics in the new part of the hotel than chartreuse in that room.
Breakfast was also good. Breakfast serving is ingeniously located on the 2nd floor, above the restaurant. Giving a choice to have last minute breakfast in peace without observer the staff preparing lunch service as usually in many other hotels.
The hotel is located within the city's harbor area. Hotel is easy to find and parking garage located below the hotel. The harbor is a nice environment for walking. Unfortunately in winter this area has no another choice to dine or take a drink than the hotel´s Italian style restaurant and bar. City heart is 5-10 minutes walk away across the railway by bridge tube.
Staff were really nice and professional.

I’ve been here earlier in 2011-2012 and was looking forward to see was this still as good as it was then. And I need to say that yes. Hotel was over expectations.
We were asking to book a suite with discounted price for two couples and unfortunately it was not available but we got room upgrade from the part of the hotel.
Room was large and has a lot of space for us to enjoy it. Decoration was following Scandinavian design guidelines and bed was full of pillows and sooooo comfortable.
Breakfast was good and coffee service to the tables is nice detail what to like.
Location is good for going to city center easily with under 1 kilometer walk. So not anything to complain about that either.
This was top notch experience in hotel, especially in middle Finland. Recommended!

Great hotel with good modern facilities and a fantastic restaurant. On my first business trip to Jyväskylä I was recommended this hotel by a colleague who is well travelled in Finland.
The gym was modern, clean and enough equipment for all levels of fitness. Very impressive.
The rooms were very large with typical scandic feel and decor which did feel a little sterile but wonderful views of the city and lakes.
The restaurant was phenomenal. Exceeded my usual expectations for a hotel restaurant by a long shot. Pinot Grigio was beautiful and the scallops for starter were beautiful and cooked perfect.
Highly recommend this hotel for business trip and evening dinner

Excellent service at reception - thorough advice and good tips. The receptionist even fetched some focaccia from the restauraunt when it turned out that the dinner booking she made for us was a bit late! Reasonably large new and modern room. Big and comfy bed. Well-equiped gym. Excelent breakfast. Brilliant location next to train station and a wlaking distance from downtown.

This hotel is located in the nice part of the Jyväskylä, Lutakko. Only A short distance from the lake and nice outdooring harbour area. Also one public beach is near by if you feel like jumping into the Finnish lake. PET friendly hotel.

Stayed one night during the holidays with my hubby. We had a supreme solo king room, 7th floor and very nice view to the city centre and the lake.
The room was spacious but needs some more furniture. There was only one recliner to relax, very small desk, no table. There is plenty of room to add some more comfortable furniture. Water pressure from the shower was quite weak, no need for the rain shower if you cannot get enough water from it.
Service was friendly and casual, however the room service walked in to the room without knocking while we were in the room.
From my point of view Hotel Paviljonki is a a normal Finnish middle-range chain hotel, where you can sleep well but don't expect nothing special.

My New Year's visit was totally worth a dime.
In the room, the ordered cold scumpa and as a surprise a plate of vegan chocolate were waiting (I'm vegan but I didn't give information about this when booking the room), the room was as requested on the top floor facing Jyväsjärvi and the room was clean, modern and well equipped. The only downside to the room was that the TV didn't have Chromecast, which apparently some of the rooms have, but that might be because my room was the cheapest room category.
At the reception, they were able to recommend dining options to me, I ended up going to the center, where it was only a few minutes' walk and there I found an excellent S group restaurant (Venn). By the way, I have been to the hotel's restaurant Trattoria Aukio for both lunch and a la carte dinner, and I especially recommend the salad buffet served at lunch to everyone.
At the hotel, I could relax in peace in the room, the bed and armchair were comfortable for lounging and watching the rockets over Lake Jyväsjärvi.
In the morning I went to the small, well-equipped gym and cozy sauna, I loved the rain showers and the baths were gentle.
The breakfast was extremely versatile, I sometimes go to a hotel for breakfast anyway, so I knew to expect the best breakfast in town.
All the employees at reception and at breakfast and even the cleaner who guided us in finding the hall were helpful and friendly.
I already praised the service during my visit and I would like to praise it again in the form of a review. The staycation was perfect and if I want to stay in a hotel in my hometown again, this will definitely be my first choice.

Great hotel. Excellent beds, nice breakfast and very central and easy to find. Parking garage located in the basement and the railway station just about 100m away makes it a great stay due to conveniency. The resturant in the hotel is also very popular since one day ahead booking is recommended. I didn't try, but both the staff and the locals told me so. Try to get a room high up for a nice view.

Friendly and pet-friendly. It is all in the details: car park doors open automatically, really appreciated when carrying all your luggage, and traveling with a dog. Treats and a towel for the dog. And for the human - special diets well informed at breakfast, with fresh and nice selection of alternatives to choose from - not just one. We also appreciated our clean and quiet room.
