The rooms are defenitely not as portraited in the website. Rooms are old, badly in the need of an update. Some old water damage markings on the walls. The colour of the curtains were so bright green, that my epileptic daughter asked me if it is going to cause her a seizure. The room was clean and breakfast was good. Easy parking.
I stayed here for one night to work at an event. Staff was friendly but the front desk was understaffed and long lines occurrd at the check-in. Breaksfast was organised in shifts. My room was in the annex, so I had to walk downstairs and througj a tunnel. My room was ice cold and the AC heating refused the remote control. The room was clean but the walls were thin. The curtains are not lightproof, bring a sleeping mask, for the streetlamps are on all night. The bathroom was very basic, rather Holiday Inn or Ibis Budget style, far from the regular Scandic standards. The shower was moody...and not very warm. Breaksfast was oustanding wven for Scandic standards. With plenty of vegan and gluten-free choices, even cake was provdided. The station is in walking distance, so is the City Center and bars and clubs. All in all it was ok, but next time I'll try to get better value at a different hotel, for I prefer a waem room, if it's -15*C outside.…
We had a Superior Plus room with Sauna. The room was spacious, the furniture in the living room relatively old. Though, we felt comfortable. Sauna und showers were new and surprisingly big. The hotel is located well. Close to the inner city, the railway station and the lake. Service personal was very friendly. Breakfast was delicious and offered many alternatives. The restaurant has a nice charm, waitress was very kind, food was delicious.
Booked Scandic Jyväskylä City for an overnight stay, having travelled from Hämeenlinna. What more can I say, the hotel was excellent, great reception, comfortable and well equipped rooms, had a perfect nights sleep, for a nightcap the bar was great with a wide selection of drinks, breakfast was amazing, with something for everyone! As a city hotel parking is a small problem, but we paid the Euro 12,00 for parking, which was OK, but space is limited, although there is the parking house for a little more cost. Overall a great experience, the hotel is a credit to the Scandic group.
Reception and other services: very good and friendly. Room would benefit from renewal, as would some of the public areas, too. Sleep quality proved to be bad, as a/c or some other system made noise thru the night. Breakfast was standard Scandic style, but I found ants in the buffet table disgusting. No free parking was disappointing. The best part is the central location.
Really good breakfast and location. Breakfast could be until 11am. Now only until 10am. We were on holiday, so it would be nice to sleep longer. Room nice, but the floor needs to be upgraded. Staff very friendly and helpful. We didn’t want to pay for the parking, so we took our car to Yrjönkatu, there was 4h free parking :)
This hotel is a former Cumulus Hotel in two buildings on both sides of the street. There is a tunnel connecting the buildings. Before a two-night stay here, we stayed one night in the nearby Scandic Station. The public spaces at this Scandic City are much better. The reception, the gym, and the Moe's Bar are located in one building. The other building has the pool with saunas, the breakfast room, and the Bord restaurant. The rooms are a little bit outdated, although they have the newer Cumulus decor with light green curtains and no blue walls. We booked the only Superior Sauna room which is the best room category at this hotel. It is a very spacious room. Actually, it could be called a suite because it has separate living and bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one with a big dressing room. The sauna is spacious, for 5-6 persons. The only thing which we didn't like was the sofa. It was uncomfortable, worn and should be replaced. The breakfast was pleasantly calm because of the coronavirus pandemic. The food selection was good. Our stay had excellent value for 124 euros per night.…
Friendly reception staff and nice room in 5th floor. I could go again anytime. Standard Scandic breakfast selection, kitchen little bit delayed to fill bowls. Table cleaning need more focus during rush times.
Stayed there for one night. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms looked nothing like you book online and we were disappointed in that. Breakfast was included but was mediocre at best. Good location to center of town.
Stayed here two nights on a weekend break. Very good location in city center, close to the main bus and railway stations. The hotel has their own parking area which is easily accessible but unfortunately not very spacious, at least not if you own a big car. Both check-in and check-out were very efficient and friendly and we received all necessary information about the hotel. Our room was standard, cozy, well-kept and clean with good quality amenities but not very modern. The bed was large and comfortable. Most importantly, the room was quiet. Breakfast was standard Scandic quality, with a large selection and ample choice of produce. We also dined at the on-site restaurant and found the food very tasty and very reasonably priced and the service friendly and efficient. The hotel is somewhat in need of renovation, there are signs of wear and tear here and there but overall impression was O.K.…
