We thought this might be a noisy one, as there is no reception, but we were wrong. So quiet room. The room was clean but worn, especially toilet. No breakfast, but there was a nice cafeteria nearby. Reservating was easy and we got an entrance code.
To my understanding, this is now Hotelli Uninen with no personnel nor other services. There was no air conditioning in the room provided and the temperature in this initial room was more than 30 degrees Celsius. When calling the customer service number we were given a room with a small table fan. The door code would be identical to both rooms for a limited time during the change. Which was not the case, leaving us having our luggage in the original room without access to it. Another call to the customer service with a promise to send a new code via SMS. No code after waiting 30 mins but the old code suddenly worked giving us access to our luggage. The room was hot and a small ventilation window was all we coud open including turning on the table fan, so we could hear a noise from a restaurat/hotel opposing our hotel…
The hotel in itself is showing it's age slightly, and the rooms could do with a renovation, but the rooms are kept nice and clean, and the staff is really friendly and helpful. The breakfast is quite extensive and tasted great. There's free parking in the back yard of the hotel, with quite a lot of spots (20+).
Location is good the rest is so so, perhaps for one night stay if you cannot find any better. Furniture pretty worn, bathroom dimly lit, the mattress transfered all my wife's body movements to my my side of the bed, very peculiar experience.
When we were looking fo a hotel for one night in Loviisa, I was very reluctant to choose this one. Just looking at the picture of this building did not go well together with my liking of small, individual, family run hotels and my expectations of accomodation in a small, lovely summer town of Loviisa. One should not judge a book by its cover though: the hotel was nice, clean and comfortable - with friendly service. The hotel is centrally located and easy to access by car (or bicycle like us) and has plenty of parking spaces. The rooms were rather standard, but recently refurbished and comfortable. I would like to mention the bathroom which was stylilsh and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was ok. What I would change there is either to serve fresh fruit or no fruit at all - but definately not canned...…
According to my recent experience and compared to the Finnish standard, this is a modest hotel at all. I didn't like it. The room was clean but not stylish of comfortable. The bed had to be a double bed, but not. Two separate beds put together. That is not okay for couples. The beds are old. If there are no other hotel choices, then leave this town to another.
We just arrived this hotel around 8 PM and there is no person in lobby for giving keys or having dinner. You must get a mail before regarding to take keys from closed box. It is just normal small hotel at Loviisa. Even small hotel price is not cheap.
Loviisa is a small town and this hotel is in the middle of it. Rooms were average 3-star hotel rooms; clean and comfortable enough. Hooks for the towels and a towel to dry the floor after the shower were missing in the bathroom. There is free parking, free wi-fi and on Sunday free breakfast was served from 8 to 11. It was good, but I had to ask for information about food allergens.
If you just need a place to stay overnight, this hotel can be recommended. The rooms are a bit worn out. The fitted carpet has seen its best days already some time ago, Our bathroom was just ok. The beds were ok. No proper air conditioning. But the location in the city center against a small park is good and quiet.
Loviisa´s Hotel, Quiet and cheerful, Breakfast is not the best but adequate, Rooms are clean and windows do not open and can get a little stuffy in the bedroom. Free internet in Hotel. Nice place to eat is HessBurger, only 2 minutes walk, there you will always get fresh cooked food and fresh made salads. Close to the Hotel is a Nepalese Restaurant where the food is delicious. If you want to go to Helsinki it´s easier to take the bus, cost 9 Euro each way. Bus takes only 1 hour 30 minutes and you see the wonderful country side.
