It immediately upon walking in the room, it had a stale smell. No airflow. No air conditioning. A small fan that would not oscillate. Bare mattress showing, Did not give a clean feeling. Shower was OK and seemed clean. Location was close to train station which was a plus, but not very close to many of the amenities in town. The people at the desk were friendly. The breakfast was not too bad. I would not stay there again.
The rooms are comfortable. The Crew is absolutely polite and helpful. It's reasonable and close to the railway from where you can go many other places. Walking distance to city centre.the only lacking thing I can say is it does not have enough Tv channels in English. You have a free tea&coffee service all day! Don't miss it! Thanks to all of them.
We stayed 4 nights in this hotel. When we checked in they wanted the payment right away, wich we thought was odd because we hadn't even seen the room. After check in, we saw the room, tiwich was freezing cold the whole time we stayed there. We put the radiator max and asked reception if there is anyway to heat more but they only gave more blankets to us. TV didn't work and we asked if someone could come check it out. The reception worker came to check, he told it doesn't work and left the room and that's it. Room wasn't cleaned everyday. Only things we liked about the hotel was OK breakfast and location.
Was there for a couple of days due to work. The personnel were friendly and would help you in any problems that we had. Good for sightseeing the town as everthing was close. The only negative is the cleaniness. They do not do it on a daily basis
I had a discount for this hotel through my union, so the room with a queen-size bed ended up costing 92€ with breakfast for two. Apparently this building had been a Scandic Hotel before, and it definitely shows - the room and hotel in general seemed much more expensive than it was. Breakfast was a bit limited, but on the other hand it had everything you'd need (except bacon). We arrived in Lahti at 10am since my wife was going to a seminar, so I asked whether I could get to the room earlier than 2pm which is the normal check-in time. They have me the room straight away at 10am free of charge, which was a great extra.
As everything in Finland this hotel has all you need for a very reasonable price in a short stay. 5 min walk from rail station, room is ok, bathroom is big. Breakfast is very good. Everything is clean and personnel is very friendly. Internet is free, cable tv with main Euro Channels.
Quite basic, but everything we needed; reasonable price, clean room, good location, good breakfast (was not included to room price, but 8 euros per person, not too bad). Parking in front of the hotel is not free, 6 euros per 24 hours. I would gladly stay at Greenstar again.
Firstly it’s a bit confusing that this is not a Scandic anymore, but named the Green Star Hotel and the swimming pool and sauna are no longer available too guests. Rooms are pretty good, if not a little warm inside, no way of opening windows too get air flow , only a small table fan too move and cool the air. Some fixtures are a looking a bit tired , but it is a 3 star hotel after all , so need too lower your standards if your expecting more, haven’t tried the restaurant yet , but I am sure it looks ok. Parking is no longer free for guests, but however 6€ a day.
This three star hotel is just fine. The rooms are well appointed with a big walk-in shower. The front desk staff is especially friendly and helpful. There is a good restaurant, two bars and they serve good breakfast. The location is convenient, across the street from the railway station and a short walk to several restaurants. Our only complaint is the maid service. They did a bare-bones job, leaving the bathroom floor dirty, not bothering to tuck in the sheets when making the beds, and one day not coming at all when we didn't leave the room til 9:30.
Nice location and good breakfest. Enjoyed. Kinda warm in room even though it wasn't hot outside. Swimming pool and gym included, saunas also on every day. Salad and meal receivable 24/7 from lobby. Good food in restaurant. Nice prices.
