The rooms are comfortable. The Crew is absolutely polite and helpful. It's reasonable and close to the railway from where you can go many other places. Walking distance to city centre.the only lacking thing I can say is it does not have enough Tv channels in English.
You have a free tea&coffee service all day! Don't miss it! Thanks to all of them.

As everything in Finland this hotel has all you need for a very reasonable price in a short stay.

5 min walk from rail station, room is ok, bathroom is big.
Breakfast is very good.
Everything is clean and personnel is very friendly.
Internet is free, cable tv with main Euro Channels.

Location close to the railway station is excellent if you arrive by train or bus, and yet the hotel is only a short walk away from the downtown. The first impression didn't really reach the Scandic level - entrance is a bit unwelcoming and the lady at the reception was quite careless and not service oriented at all. The rest of the staff - also at the reception desk - was very friendly thou.
The room was a bit outdated, looked more like a motel room but yet the bed was comfortable as well as the size of the room. Bathroom was clean and basic; we really liked the fact that the shower area was bigger than in most hotel rooms. Our room had a minibar and ironing board, iron and a hair dryer in the bathroom. We stayed at the top floor (6) and found the room quiet and were not disturbed by any noise.
The breakfast buffet was excellent, definitely the Scandic level - a lot to choose from, cold and hot dishes, salty and sweet, fresh fruit, tasty coffee, a good variety of bread and a lot of choices for people who need gluten free food as well.
Would recommend the hotel for anyone who looks for a very basic but clean room and wants to enjoy a great breakfast.

Hello RoadCalls, Thank you for your feedback. Nice to hear that you liked during your stay here in Scandic Lahti, though the first impression was not so good. I want to apology if the front desk did not give a friendly impression. We will take this very seriously and we are going through this case together. Hopefully we will see again! Best regards, Pirkko L, Front Office Duty manager

I had a discount for this hotel through my union, so the room with a queen-size bed ended up costing 92€ with breakfast for two. Apparently this building had been a Scandic Hotel before, and it definitely shows - the room and hotel in general seemed much more expensive than it was.
Breakfast was a bit limited, but on the other hand it had everything you'd need (except bacon).

We arrived in Lahti at 10am since my wife was going to a seminar, so I asked whether I could get to the room earlier than 2pm which is the normal check-in time. They have me the room straight away at 10am free of charge, which was a great extra.

We stayed 4 nights in this hotel. When we checked in they wanted the payment right away, wich we thought was odd because we hadn't even seen the room. After check in, we saw the room, tiwich was freezing cold the whole time we stayed there. We put the radiator max and asked reception if there is anyway to heat more but they only gave more blankets to us. TV didn't work and we asked if someone could come check it out. The reception worker came to check, he told it doesn't work and left the room and that's it. Room wasn't cleaned everyday. Only things we liked about the hotel was OK breakfast and location.

It immediately upon walking in the room, it had a stale smell. No airflow. No air conditioning. A small fan that would not oscillate. Bare mattress showing, Did not give a clean feeling. Shower was OK and seemed clean. Location was close to train station which was a plus, but not very close to many of the amenities in town. The people at the desk were friendly. The breakfast was not too bad. I would not stay there again.

First, I got a room that was not cleaned at all. The staff apologized. I just got a new room.
I am somewhat allergic to dust. Because my eyes and my throat was reacted in some way during my stay, In the morning I checked the bathroom air exchange valve, it had accumulated dust on the surface as well as the channel. When they have been cleaned?

Thankfully I spent only one night in this "hotel". I would have changed the hotel but I was too tired in the middle of the night to do so. I arrived late to the hotel and checked out as early as I could. The hotel was very outdated, poorly preserved and not up to Scandic standards in any way.

I checked in and went to my room. It was dirty in a way I have hardly seen traveling quite a bit in my life. There were stains on the doors and walls, the bathroom had someone´s hairs on the surfaces etc. On top of that a lampshade and controller of blinds were broken. The view was over the parking lot, the room was very tiny without proper sound isolation to the corridor.

I went back down and asked for a clean room. I was upgrated to a better room. Unfortunately hygienic or any other standards were not met here either. The second room was even dirtier than the first one. I was so furious that I took pictures of dirty mirrors, doors, class counters, walls, bathroom sink, bed, bathroom and shower area, you name it, and sent them with my complaints to the hotel manager. He answered back within two weeks, apologized on the behalf of the hotel and gave me coupons for another stay in Scandic hotels and cleaning service SOL (they obviously use this firm for cleaning). Case closed.

I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. Please, avoid it.

I got a renovated room, which was clean and had a good bed. Simple modern furniture. There as a new flat screen TV and a minibar with only limited non-alcoholic items to choose from. The bathroom was ok, the shower was good and spacious.

The hotel had a slightly industrial feeling, steel framed door and echoing plain staircase. The lifts worked but the movement was not always smooth.

There usually is a good breakfast at Scandic. The breakfast at this hotel had a typical Scandic appearance but maybe there was a slightly less to choose from compared to the bigger Scandics. Anyway, you will get a real and great breakfast.

A big minus is that the restaurant is closed on weekends and there are only very basic fast food places or pizzerias nearby. You will need to walk to the city center. It is not far, but on Sundays the city center is nearly dead, there is nothing else to do.

If you are coming by car this hotel is one of the best options in Lahti because parking is very easy. All in all a safe and typical Scandic.

Location: next to train station, which is good, but a bit further from city center. Rooms are big enough, bathroom is very big. But: much too warm and no possibilities to cool or open window. Breakfast is OK. You can use 2 bicycles for free. Service and hospitality are good.
Swimming pool is small but sufficient.
