There are not many hotels in Lahti. So the prices are higher than in Helsinki. We made an extempore trip to Lahti as the opening of one Helsinki hotel was delayed. There was a new museum Malva opened in Lahti the previous week. When I looked at the prices of this hotel, the cheapest room was nearly 200 euros, even with the green S-bonus card. Then I found out that Sokos Hotels have also a senior rate with the code 'SENIOR' when booking directly from them. For a Supreme King room in the new Loft House wing, the price was just 135 euros. The normal price would have been 282 euros and the S-card price was 211 euros. This Loft House opened one year ago and is located across the street in the Sokos building. The 3rd floor of the department store was converted into a stylish hotel wing with 50 new rooms. These Supreme rooms have an oval-shaped window but otherwise, they are quite small. Our room #232 was probably the worst because it had a connecting door to the neighboring room making it even smaller. However, with some moving of the furniture, we could make the room more practical and were able to watch the television while sitting. I wonder why there is a connecting door because this Loft House has many other rooms more suitable for families. Before breakfast, I had already decided that I will give only four stars because of the crampiness of our room. However, the breakfast was so excellent that I will now give the hotel five stars. Also, our price had a good value.

I was traveling solo. Customer service was excellent, they listened my wishes about the room. The room was clean and good, bed was excellent. Breakfest also excellent. Loved the hole stay there. I will go again.

Incredible small room (room number 505), no proper bathroom but a tiny shower corner from where the water ends up on your corridor...(bathroom door cannot be fully closed due to the stupid construction of the list/ frame. Frankly speaking, Viking or Silja Line provides better ferry cabins than this room is. Check-in took 30 minutes even though there were only 2 guests in the queue. Unfortunately this is not a family/ baby friendly hotel. Huge disappointment

This legendary hotel is centrally located. The hotel rooms have hosted many famous guests, from Marshal of Finland C.G.E. Mannerheim to Swedish royalty. We stayed here for two nights. First in the old wing's Suite Karoliina which is a very spacious room on the 6th floor. It has a jacuzzi in the bathroom and nice views of the city from the big balcony. For the second night, we had booked a Loft Ultimate Garden room from the new Loft House opposite the street. Part of the Sokos department store was transformed into a stylish new wing. This Loft House was opened last April. One of the four (?) Loft Ultimate Garden rooms was already under repair and we were upgraded to a two-story Solo Loft room which is the most expensive room type in the hotel. Solo Loft is a little more expensive than Suite Karoliina, around 500 euros per night. We paid for the first night a summer sale price (-40 %) of 225 euros and 210 euros for the second night. There are 15 Solo Loft rooms with 7-meter high ceilings. All of them have a large design bathtub made of composite wood, a separate rain shower but no sauna. All Loft Ultimate Garden rooms have a sauna and two of them have also a bathtub. These rooms have terraces with a view of the lovely indoor garden. The breakfast is served on the 2nd floor of the old wing. Loft House residents must cross the street to get there. The breakfast has a wide selection of food. The coffee is brought to the table. On Monday morning, it was pleasantly calm. On Tuesday morning, there were more guests. From the Loft House, you have direct lift access to the Sokos department store and S-market grocery store.

Newly renovated (or built?), clean rooms, liked the decor in the bathroom and loved the huge towels and the awesome bed with truly clean linens! Didn't even feel like I needed slippers, as the floor was spotless. Vast selection the breakfast including many vegan choices. Far better breakfast than e.g. at Kämp in Helsinki! Superb service at the front desk as well as at the breakfast. Had zero expectations and ended up staying at one of the best hotels I have been to (out of the hundreds of 5 star hotels around the world).
