Detailed Reviews
The Seurahoune hotel combines a great central location, but within walking distance from the Bus and Railway station.
The staff are great and the hotel offers good quality and value. At a small additional cost you can use the Fressi Gym.

We stayed in the recently added new Loft House section of the hotel. Good location and tasty breakfast. Spacious and modern room (Solo Loft Triple) with amazingly high ceilings. The room was excellent but the housekeeping below standards.
Capsule coffee maker had no capsules to make coffee.
The minibar did not have the room inclusive drink for all guests.
The tea selection was one flavor.
Bathrobes were folded very messy.
The gentleman at the reception was friendly and helpful in fixing the housekeeping shortages but having to deal with all this affected the stay.
If the rooms are referred to as high-standard and luxurious the details need to be spot. These are basic room items stocked in any hotel with these amenities so very disappointing.
Loft House rooms are in a different building to the reception so one needs to step outside and cross a street to access breakfast.

Once again my stay was excellent. I simply love the Loft House and just have to keep going back. The loft rooms are situated across the street from the main building but I don't mind going out for a couple of minutes to get breakfast (which is supergood), it's only refreshing to get some air after a good night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. There is also the option to have your breakfast delivered to your room for an extra fee and although the selection is a bit more limited compared to the buffet, it was excellent still. My every wish about the breakfast had been noted.
The staff have been friendly every time but during this latest visit the service even exceeded all my expectations, which were already high. Can nothing but recommend this hotel and the Loft House.

My wife and I went to the Saturday brunch after 11 o'clock, according to the hotel's wishes. The employee who seemed grumpy cashed us and at the same time humiliated those who were ahead of us in the queue and pointed to an empty table by saying that he is "the only person here who knows where is free and where is not". The hall was completely sold out. The used dishes were taken away a little at a time and very slowly. The coffee was served to the table only after a request 25 minutes after our arrival. The porridge was lukewarm. The "real" scrambled eggs were watery and looked suspiciously made of powder. The hall on the second floor does not work as full. The uproar was huge, the queues were long and the staff's behavior chaotic. The price-quality ratio was miserable. Avoid this place.

Mikha2015, thank you for your feedback. I am truly sorry that your breakfast-visit did not meet your expectations. We have a very great focus on product quality and freshness. Scrambled eggs in Seurahuone is homemade from cream and eggs. Not made of powder. We had a very busy weekend. Breakfast for our accommodated guests ends at 11:30 and this Saturday last 30 minutes was still very crowded. I feel sorry that you got impression of rude staff. Our job is to make all guests feel good in Seurahuone. Based on your feedback we need to advice our guests more- even in a very rush moments. I really wish that you will visit us again and let us show our success in service and product. WBR Mia Stenberg Hotel Manager

I am surprised that the breakfast does not include Salmon. At the best hotel in Lahti I woild expect it would be included as it is in the Helsinki Airport Hilton, for example. Limiting guests to only one piirakka each provided by an attendant also seems strange. While guests can ask for more, guests are not asked at the outset how many they would like and they are not available as part of the buffet table. The thermostat in our Loft Room does not work. I tried to turn the temperature down and nothing happened over 3 days. Same thing happened last year. I mentioned it last summer to the front desk clerk who said it would be checked but I did not bother this year. Internet connection on my mobile disappeared every time I put the phone down/let it close. I had to log in all over again each time I opened the phone again. For international guests on a foreign data plan this is seriously annoying. And I have never been in any other luxury hotel that functions this way. There was no corkscrew in the room and the bar staff said they had no extras to loan us; a front desk attendant was kind enough to retrieve one from her office. There were no voltage converters available at the front desk (our bags with converters in them did not arrive from the airline until the second night). There is also no electric shaver outlet for 110 voltage shavers unlike most luxury hotels around the world, which is inconvenient because those can also be used to recharge cellphones and hearing aid chargers without the need for an adapter/converter in a pinch even though the signage always says “for shavers only”. We have been coming to Lahti for 50 years ever since I married a Lahti girl, and we love this hotel, which is certainly the best one in Lahti, but it would be even better for international travelers in particular if management would make some simple changes in policies and facilities. And the Solo Sokos in Lahti hosts many international travelers, particularly for athletic events. I sent this message to the hotel via its app since I pay for its hotel S-Card club membership even though we do not live in Finland (I love the discounts and the restaurant; we are staying there 4 times just this summer during our annual two months Finland summer trip, sometimes with other family members as well) but the response was underwhelming. The corporate culture likely could use a bit of re-energizing in this time of post-COVID travel expansion.

There are not many hotels in Lahti. So the prices are higher than in Helsinki. We made an extempore trip to Lahti as the opening of one Helsinki hotel was delayed. There was a new museum Malva opened in Lahti the previous week.
When I looked at the prices of this hotel, the cheapest room was nearly 200 euros, even with the green S-bonus card. Then I found out that Sokos Hotels have also a senior rate with the code 'SENIOR' when booking directly from them.
For a Supreme King room in the new Loft House wing, the price was just 135 euros. The normal price would have been 282 euros and the S-card price was 211 euros.
This Loft House opened one year ago and is located across the street in the Sokos building. The 3rd floor of the department store was converted into a stylish hotel wing with 50 new rooms.
These Supreme rooms have an oval-shaped window but otherwise, they are quite small. Our room #232 was probably the worst because it had a connecting door to the neighboring room making it even smaller. However, with some moving of the furniture, we could make the room more practical and were able to watch the television while sitting.
I wonder why there is a connecting door because this Loft House has many other rooms more suitable for families.
Before breakfast, I had already decided that I will give only four stars because of the crampiness of our room. However, the breakfast was so excellent that I will now give the hotel five stars. Also, our price had a good value.

Incredible small room (room number 505), no proper bathroom but a tiny shower corner from where the water ends up on your corridor...(bathroom door cannot be fully closed due to the stupid construction of the list/ frame.
Frankly speaking, Viking or Silja Line provides better ferry cabins than this room is.
Check-in took 30 minutes even though there were only 2 guests in the queue. Unfortunately this is not a family/ baby friendly hotel.
Huge disappointment

Dear Skirover01 Thank you for your feedback. Upon check-in we inquire about guests needs for room cleaning. Some guests wish cleaning every day- some not at all. How ever housekeeping will clean up every 3rd night which we tell for our guests. There has now been an unfortunate misunderstanding by receptionist. I apologize for this. Our job is to quarantee nice visit with us. I wish you warm and wonderful Summer and also hope to have you back in Seurahuone. WBR Mia Stenberg Hotel Manager

Too expensive for that what it offers. The rooms are very clean modern and comfortable, but too expensive only for that. The breakfast is very poor not many things to choose and with low quality. We arrived on 01.00am and in reception during the checkin ask at this time if we want to make a reservation for private sauna. For the breakfast times we have to ask. They also ask us if we want the room to be cleaned the next days? For 250€ per night and ask us if tit should be cleaned, of course it should be!! Checkout was also not fast and one guy there was really rude.

If there was an award for best breakfast, this place would win. It had a very good selection of meats, fruit, bread, coffee, juice etc. it also had a fresh waffle making station!
Downstairs has a really good restaurant as well.
Location is very central
Parking is close and easy to find.
Our only complaint was the that the car park stinks with the smell of garbage. The car park is fully enclosed and not well ventilated, it smells really bad. Definitely recommend doing something about it (separate organics from trash for example).
