Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

For me this hotel was good. It is 20 metres from the bus station, and that is the way I was travelling. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The staff were very helpful in advising me about bus times, and a map with a suggested route for me to go for a run. Breakfast was good and plentiful. My room was clean, and bed comfortable. It's not a smart place like the Sokos or Skandi, but for the requirements of a clean and comfortable bed, with a good shower - it was all fine. WIFI was good. Even though it is next to the main road the sound proofing is very good.

Already slightly worn hotel. Already slightly worn hotel. Moderate Buffet & Room. Chose hotel because during "Kotka Maritime Days" other hotels did not free have room. Karhula is located quite close to Kotka. Ask for an evening out when leaving to go back. There is no night staff, and you can not get your own key in the door. Sea Festival during the return had to be 03 before;) I recommend, to avoid the late night karaoke bar downstairs, it's a fairly colorful place.
