This hotel was in every way functional and nice. The room was large, with comfortable beds, large mirrors, various lighting options, a minibar, a large TV and a well-equipped bathroom with Lumene products. The hotel staff was nice and helpful, the breakfast quite okay but nothing extra. What was not good was that I was woken up in the middle of the night at 04.40 by a loud banging sound that I could not locate. The sound repeated regularly after that, making it impossible for me to go back to sleep. My colleagues testified to the same experience, and someone in our group claimed it came from the minibar. If you want a good night's sleep, which you want in a hotel, this was very disturbing and detracts from the score and the overall experience. This as an explanation for my choosing "loud" for noise level and "terrible" for sleep quality. Otherwise, the hotel was good.

I stayed overnight Friday-Saturday at the pre Christmas time. The hotel has a good location next to a small park. The rooms are nice size and the beds provide a relaxing sleep. The shower has enough space and the floors are warm. There are three restaurants downstairs and you can find the style you like. Other restaurants also in the close neighborhood. I enjoyed the rich breakfast and the crispy bacon that was a big plus for me. The staff is nice and professional both at the reception and restaurants. You can enjoy a good dinner. The hotel has a parking hall, but also free parking can be found some 100 meters from the door. The hotel and restaurants are wheelchair accessable all over. I suggest you book your visit here.

A really nice hotel which was everything I expected it to be. The location was good and the rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly and when we had a problem with our rooms chromecast service they fixed it quickly. Breakfast was pretty good and there were also gluten free and vegan options available.

This hotel is very centrally located next to Sibelius Park. There are two wings. The older one has been recently renovated. These rooms have been designed by interior decorator Marko Paananen from Kotka. There are three different styles: the engine room of a ship (lower floors), a beach house (middle floors), and a captain’s cabin (top floors).
The only Captain's Suite is located on the top 8th floor. This spacious room has a separate living and bedroom. There is a balcony with panoramic park and city views. The best part of the room is a very stylish sauna. We have stayed in the same suite in 2017 and it is easy to say that the room decor is so much better now.
The breakfast was pleasantly calm on both mornings. It is served at Frans & Rosalie bistro. The breakfast buffet is extensive and well planned. It was easy to find what you needed.
There are two other restaurants in the hotel: Venn and Amarillo. We had a pleasant lunch at Venn and a tasty dinner at Amarillo.

Didn’t expect anything, didn’t get anything. These Sokos hotels around Finland are so average. Same kind of rooms, same kind of restaurants, same kind if atmosphere. But in business trips they offer just what you need - clean hotel rooms, good breakfast and if you own a Red S-card, a free dinner and a newspaoer.

The standard Sokos chain service. No surprises there except some of the previous tenants chips were under the legrest uncleaned. Quite tight parking. Great location. I could visit again...as I have. Enough bandwidth to properly stream netflix in the evening (with covid restricted tenant capacity)

All in all a good value hotel in a great location. They should keep a closer look at the breakfast area though: at the time we were having breakfast there was a very messy homeless person without shoes just enjoying away the whole breakfast selection for free and none of the waitresses did anything for a long while. Then basically when he was done eating, someone finally came to ask him to leave. But during these covid times it did feel not-so-hygienic to just let homeless people in like that to enjoy a buffet breakfast in the middle of all paying guests (who by the way had been instructed to come at certain intervals for covid reasons...) Better supervision hotel! Also there was a loud party at 11.30 pm in the room just next to us. They did come to stop it at some point but sleep quality did take a small hit. Other than these issues it was a good stay. Please note however that they do charge you 15 euros for parking.

As always warmest welcome and rooms to satisfaction. Breakfast includes all what you need. Hotel has almost all the time free rooms, due to size and it is convenient to book through phone App or internet page.

The breakfast in this hotel was very nice. I enjoyed it a lot. The hotel room was quite modern and the location of the hotel was great. Also people very friendly and helpful.
However, there could have been more lights in the hotel room. I stayed in this hotel in February 2024 when it's still quite dark outside here in Finland. Otherwise my stay there was very pleasant.

The location is good beside Sibelius park. About 10 minutes walk from Kotka Satama railway station. The service is very friendly and the services were introduced carefully, f.ex. sauna and restaurants. The room was good and clean, but not a 4 stars, because the floor was in quite bad condition. The bathroom products were good (Lumene) and the bed was confortable. The breakfast buffet was good, nothing to complain. The view from the room was not pleasant, next time I'll ask if it is possible to have a room from Sibelius park side.
