The worst customer service ever. Made payment for a weekend stay, money taken from account, reservation confirmed. Only for reservation to be cancelled next day, money not returned, no contact from hotel after several e-mails. Scam hotel, steals your money, don't stay here.
GLO Hotel Kluuvi is an excellent choice for a weekend in Helsinki. First reason is location. 7-10 min walk from the central train station, trams right outside the door, numerous restaurants next door, 5 min walk to the cathedral and 7-10 min walk to market square. Second reason is the price. We stayed in shoulder season, and payed about $150 per night including taxes and fees, internet and breakfast. Third reason is breakfast. Hotel breakfast saves you money, but it’s even better when it’s good. Their buffet offered hot foods (eggs, bacon, sausages and veggies), cereals, cheese, meat, breads, fruit, coffee/tea, and even custom juice from a dispenser controlled by an iPad app. They also had special dietary options including gluten free and lactose free. Fourth reason is the rooms. They were comfortable and spacious with all needed amenities. Overall we are thrilled with our choice to stay at GLO and would stay again.…
Great hotel with excellent service! We spent nearly 3 weeks here for a business trip and were made to feel welcome from day 1. The friendly service and personal touches made it feel like visiting a family member rather than being in a hotel. Lovely, spacious rooms, perfectly central location and amazing breakfast A special thanks to Emmi and the reception team, the brilliant bar staff and the friendly breakfast girls - Always great to start each day with a friendly smile and good coffee! I’m sure we will be back again..
Great place in central Helsinki. Literally 5-10 min walk from the central station and surrounded by numerous stores. The location was perfect for my 18 h layover and allowed me to walk through some of the main attractions without needing to take transportation. Google maps gave me funny walking directions from the station. However - the way to get there is walk across from the station main entrance until you see the sign for Stockmanns (huge department store ). Then take a left and the hotel will come up on your right in around 2 blocks. Should be 7-8 min with a carryon at average speed. It was winter so there was some water puddles here and there but otherwise you’ll have no issue walking to this place with luggage. Check in was a pleasure - staff went above and beyond in explaining what to see and do. The room was very clean and bed comfortable. The double room I booked had two twins places together which is standard practice in this part of the world and imo the way to go. The WC and shower are separated which is also a nice touch in a regular room. Mijin was great and even gave me a wall adapter so I could charge my phone. They have a bar, sauna, and attached restaurant- none of which I tried but they were busy and looked good. Across is a huge Fazer cafe that had really good coffee and breakfast choices and a vast selection of their chocolates (Fazer being a popular chocolate brand in Finland). From hotel room to airport departures took me 45 min the next morning. Very convenient and super clean trains and in general, everything else. Would definitely stay here again if in Helsinki.…
Myself and a friend stayed for two nights in luxe twin room 514 in February 2023. Our rate included breakfast. Pros: -Pleasant, helpful and English speaking check-in staff. -Free WiFi throughout hotel (no logon required). -Small Lobby with seating area. -Three lifts to all floors. -‘The Tray’ restaurant - Breakfast (7-10am weekdays, 8-11:30am weekends) - buffet self-service: hot food (bacon, sausages, hash browns), water/juice dispenser, coffee jugs, breads, cheeses, salad, cereals, yoghurt, pastries. Toaster. Located adjacent to Lobby and the ‘Kamp Galleria’ shopping mall. Arrive in time as breakfast finishes promptly! -Room 514 luxe twin bed room. Keycard entry. Two cupboards with hangars, shelves, iron & ironing board, electronic safe (free), minibar fridge (contents chargeable), kettle, coffee & tea. Cons: -Room - minibar expensive - still water €3, small sparkling wine €12, small beer €6. -Breakfast - one tiny 2-bread toaster is not enough for number of guests. -Gym €10 per person per visit/Gym and sauna €35 per person. Located in the adjacent Hotel Kämp. Notes: -Numerous local eateries - we ate at ‘Fazer’ (cafe) and ‘Olivia Kluuvi’ (Italian restaurant) across the street, plus ‘Iguana’ and ‘McDonalds’! -Two nearby shopping malls - ‘CityCenter’ and adjacent ‘Stockmann’ - are a 6 minute walk from hotel. Turn left out of entrance, then turn either first or second left and follow road. CityCenter (opposite Helsinki Central Railway Station) has an an off-licence shop and an ‘Aldi’ supermarket and at K1 (below street) level. There is also a smaller mall (Kamp Galleria) attached to the hotel. -Esplanade Park (featuring Havis Amanda Statue) is a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Turn right out of entrance and walk straight along Kluuvikatu. Turn left at Park for Old Market Hall, Market Square harbour, SkyWheel Helsinki. -I thoroughly recommend the free, daily walking tour (English language) with Red Umbrella Tours. Leaves 11am from Havis Amanda Statue. Pre online booking required. -Always beware of ‘friendly’ strangers. I was approached 3 times (for money) at Central Station and again at Market Square harbour.…
I always do lots of research to find the best located hotel for what I am doing in a city so I chose Glo Hotel Kluuvi because it is perfectly located and close to everything. The location is great but it is outstanding in so many ways. Free fantastic breakfast. Great strong coffee on tap, lactose free milk, porridge (best I have ever tasted), little croissants, fresh fruit, cooked breakfast, pancakes, juice, all sorts of tea, vegetables, etc. Did I mention the excellent strong coffee. Our room had a double locked door...not sure why but it was so secure. I had asked for a quiet room and it was absolutely quiet but a nice view of the street. Also you have to use your room key card to access the floor. The bathroom was great - good shower that does not soak the floor, perfect towels, two shelves to put your stuff on! The beds are very comfortable with single duvets which is the best system (imo) as there is no duvet tugging in the middle of the night. Tues to Saturday you can have a drink in the cozy, lobby lit by lots of candles and surrounded by plants. Really hygge (but that is not a Finnish word). Other guests seem to be business people and other Finns. Did I mention friendly staff? Friendly, smiling staff. We loved this hotel. I recommend staying here when you visit Helsinki (lovely spot to visit). Make sure to have a sauna, have coffee at Fazer Cafe across the street and have a look at the grocery store in Stockmann. …
Glo is in the middle of the city close to a shopping and the cathedral. Rooms are spacious specially in suites, with a large dining table adjacent to a comfortable living area. The room and bathroom are ok and comfortable too. Unfortunately in December, the room temperature is too cold for some people and certainly my family and I included. This transforms your experience into a very uncomfortable and disagreeable cold one, where you have to be fully dressed with pullover to sustain the 19C degrees of the room. As a tourist who paid 1770€ for 3 nights in a suite, I feel entitled to more warm comfort no matter what regulations are!!! This hotel has a very crowded breakfast area that obviously does not fit all its guests and you have to wait few minutes until a table is ready. No concierge no bellman for the luggage, very limited room service.…
This place was adorable. Amazing interior architectural design. The bed was very comfy. Difficult to get out of bed some mornings, not counting the hangovers. The tub was incredible, massive and comfortable to lay in for both a bath and shower. plenty of desk space for some work to be done. Check-in and Check-out was very simple and quick. The hotel is located right in the heart of Helsinki. Plenty of places to go within walking distance. I would visit here again without question. 5 Stars!
GLO Hotel Helsinki Kluuvi location is somewhat excellent. Service at the front desk is quick and very welcoming. Also if you need to extend the room checkout time, it seems to be happen just like that. At least I was very pleased. Breakfast is sufficient and I was happy about it. My room (Luxe Double) was really commodious and I was very pleased with the bathtub. Bed was really nice, although too "soft" for me. There was enough pillows too. Only minor complains come from the small lavatory and noise, which can be heard from the corridor pretty easily. Otherwise this was really happy surprise for me and as said, I was happy!
Hotel staff were super nice and welcoming. First disappointment was the necessity to book a 30 minutes time slot for breakfast the day before .. it is a bit ridiculous. The room was tiny but fairly clean. The shower had a gap under the door which ended up leaking out of the shower. The bed was ….. a soft mattress with a top mattress where they folded a bed sheet on and 2 “pillows” way too flat. The top mattress didn’t even fit the size of the real mattress. We were happy we only had to spend one night here.
