The Scandic Helsinki Hub stands out for its stylish and modern design, with guests frequently commending the hotel's cleanliness and the comfort of its rooms. The central location is a highlight, offering tranquility and easy access to local attractions and transport. While the service is often noted as professional and accommodating, some travelers mention a lack of expected amenities such as slippers and in-room coffee. Opinions on value are mixed; the inclusive breakfast and gym are positives, but additional costs can be a downside.

The Scandic Helsinki Hub was my home for my second Helsinki trip in September for two nights. The location of the hotel is central but very quiet, from the main train station it is about 10 minutes walk. My check-in took some time as only two ladies were present at the reception, but it then went very fast and friendly. My room was on the fourth floor to the courtyard and was absolutely quiet. It was pleasantly large, bright and thoughtfully decorated. The safe was nice and large, the fridge of the minibar clean and quiet and the bathroom functionally designed. The storage space in the bathroom was very limited, at the sink was very little space. The water pressure in the shower was very good, but for me the water could have been a few degrees warmer and that on sunny warm September days, in winter the shower would have been too cold for me. Due to the two courtyards, the paths to the room are sometimes very winding and not only once I took a wrong turn during the stay. As usual with Scandic, breakfast was included and good, but it could not keep up with Scandics already visited in Sweden. Fish was only available as pickled herring, no salmon or smoked mackerel and no caviar cream. As usual in Scandinavia, there was no cappuccino or espresso for ‘normal’ coffee, which was also rather watery. I really liked the modern and tidy design of the hotel, but the bright patterned carpet in the hallways already has some unsightly spots. The price-performance ratio of my stay was very good due to various discounts when Booking Referral through a third-party provider, the official prices are a bit too high for the service offered.

Scandic Hotels are all pretty good in my experience and this is no exception. Calm, quiet and peaceful hotel. Great breakfast. Decor great. Really clean. Very welcoming and was a nice treat to find some chocolate and a note in my room too to thank me for being a Scandic Friends members. The location is great - very close to all the shopping. Impressive!

Dear thomprobert, Thank you for your stay and for putting your valuable time to give us such a versatile feedback. I'm delighted to hear you had enjoyable time with us. The location is definitely one of the best in Helsinki - you can find all the shopping, museums, theater and the main attractions few steps away from the hotel. Maybe you could try our cold water bucket shower in the sauna next time! I wish you a sunny spring and welcome back soon! Kind regards, Kind regards, Marjo Front Office Duty Manager

Modern hotel in the center, 4 full stars. First time in a scandic group and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are a bit small and in three you are actually sacrificed especially if you have a lot of luggage and you are unable to open them for lack of supports. In the rooms there is the essential: hangers that can be moved at will, expensive minibar (water 5,70 €) safe TV. There is no complimentary toiletries nor telephone in the room, which however is comfortable and soundproof. Great breakfast in a nice environment, friendly staff, excellent raw materials, local and intercontinental preparations a little 'revisited.
In the lobby a small automatic bar with hot drinks dispensing machine and very small snaks shopping. I appreciated at the entrance the rental of umbrellas at € 3 for 48 h that given the very high costs of the city, it seems very little

My 1st time at Scandic. I did not like the lighting system in the room, not really user friendly. I also did like the fact that you can not open the window in the room, non stop air condition and no possibility to get some fresh air. I also did not like the fact that the housekeeping makes only a light cleaning and you have to ask at the reception that house keeping makes a proper job. There are no english news channells in the tv in the room! I also dont understand how in the 4 star hotel there is no possibility to drink or to eat something on Sunday?! Everything is closed in the hotel so you have to go outside if you want to drink or to eat something. Nevertheless, I have to say that the hotel and the room is spotless clean, the bed in the room is very comfortable, I like the room design and the breakfast is really good, just amazing! I also like the location of the hotel. From the Helsinki main station you walk max 15 minutes.

I absolutely loved the hotel and truly enjoyed my 1-week stay there! There’s really nothing negative to mention. Everything – from the hotel’s location to the little room amenities – was perfect!
The hotel is located very close to the heart of Helsinki, across from a park. I found its location quiet and away from the city craziness, yet surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and shops.
The hotel is recently remodeled and renovated, and I must mention that it was impeccably clean every time. My check-in was super fast and smooth. Every single front desk worker was nice, helpful, and professional. I got a room on a high floor with a nice city view, just as I had requested a couple of days before arrival.
My room (#611) was spacious, stylish, modern, and smartly designed, plus it was spotlessly clean. All the furniture was in great condition. I absolutely loved the large windows covering the entire wall, which let in plenty of natural light. I could also open them to get fresh air into the room. Everything worked perfectly in my room. I enjoyed having a big, modern TV. The King-size bed was super comfortable! I loved how the designers found a smart solution by replacing the traditional closet with shelves and hooks on the wall to hang and store belongings. There was plenty of storage space all around the room, like little shelves by the bed, a long bench in front of the bed for more storage, and another small bench that also had space inside. There were 2 pairs of slippers and 2 robes provided in the room. The bathroom was large and had a very deep bathtub that fit me perfectly (I’m 6’ tall). The bathroom design in grey tones was very nice. I loved the high-quality bathroom amenities. The Wi-Fi was super fast throughout my entire stay.
I also want to mention that the hotel has a sauna, which was free to use. Unfortunately, it closes kind of early, at 9 p.m. if I remember correctly. I wish it stayed open until 11 p.m. or midnight. That would be my only request for the hotel.
The breakfast was great – the food was delicious every single day.
I paid €132 per night for my stay, and I find that price reasonable for such a high-quality hotel. If I come back to Helsinki, without any doubt I will stay only at this hotel. And I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It is truly Scandic Brand perfection!

Short weekend trip to Helsinki - the hotel is super centrally located, less than 10min to the main train station, the water, various sights. Infinitely many restaurants, bars in the immediate vicinity, as well as Shopping malls, pedestrian zone with various unique shops. The hotel is beautifully decorated, rooms clean, nothing is missing. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired, you sit very comfortably, everything is generously designed. Quality furnishings, friendly, very attentive staff both at reception and breakfast service.
I am really delighted and can recommend the hotel without hesitation, I did not miss anything.

I honestly don’t know where to begin with this hotel- everything was perfect!
When we arrived the lady at reception was very friendly and accommodating. By mother is severely claustrophobic and doesn’t like elevators but the receptionist managed to change her room to the first floor which was one flight of stairs up. The reception area is airy and spacious with comfortable seating and a ‘snack’ corner. Beware the snacks, coffee and water aren’t free.
The rooms themselves are lovely and clean. The décor is modern and very Scandinavian, with high ceilings and earthy colours. They have large comfy beds with feather pillows and clothes rack which you can move around on the wall to your desired height. They also have an iron, hairdryer and safe in the room and with sensored mood lighting, you can change it accordingly, depending on the hour of the day. The bathroom was superb, a walk in shower with a huge mirror and underfloor heating throughout.
The breakfast was plentiful- something to satisfy everybody, no matter how educated your palette is. On the weekend it was very busy, but we still managed to find a seat, as the waiters made sure the tables were cleared almost instantly when somebody left. The food ranges from hot food to cereals to fruit to cold meats. They also had a good selection of tea, coffee, juices and milks. If you’re coeliac or gluten intolerant they have a large section dedicated to you.
My only negative, is that there is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Where I would’ve expected this in a four star hotel..
Overall, the location is excellent, right in the heart of the city centre, very comfortable beds and a fabulous breakfast. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

The rooms Do NOT have : phone (no way to reach anyone, family or reception in case of need or emergency), no tea/coffee.
You're supposed to scan a QR code and call them with your mobile phone (paying service) but they don't even answer.
The rooms do have many many small bottles of alcohol at hand! Politic of the hotel seems to pudh for alcohol consomption but if you want tea you have to pay for a 'superior room' they say!
Electricity and heating are digital so not straight forward to turn on and off, and regulate intensity.

Very very disappointed again by the Scandic company in Finland because if you have booked for a superior room you will not even be entitled to a simple kettle! I find this policy absolutely deplorable. Otherwise the place is huge and looks a bit like a factory (this is also the theme of the decoration with the concrete in the rooms). Lots of people at breakfast, the team does what they can but is forced to take your plate away quite quickly for the shift, this nevertheless creates a rather unpleasant impression. The reception staff themselves seem quite rushed, which is rare in Finland. The sauna was crowded when we went but beautiful (although dirty). The hotel is relatively close to the train station. We will not return to this hotel.

One night solo staycation. I chose this newish hotel because of the excellent price and excellent gym (according to pictures). Everything was lovely. The atmosphere in the hotel, smootheness of check in, friendliness of the front desk, the design and furnishings.. The room was nice and well planned details, the lighting was excellent and the bed and pillows provided good sleep. I didn’t hear much sounds from the corridor or neighbours so I guess it was well soundproofed or just quiet time. I had high expectations for the gym and sauna and I must say that those were among the best I have seen in the hundreds of hotels I have stayed. It’s also amazing that it is included in the price unlike in many other countries. Breakfast was also wonderful, not just the usual Scandic quality but much more. (Think about Scandic Camper in Stockholm) Even gluten-free and vegan options were excellent and the chia pudding was the best I have ever had. The allergy/special diet table was well separated and labelled from the other foods.
I will be back next time! Kiitos!
