In my opinion the quality of the hotel was well below Scandic average. The room was fuggy and hot, venetian blinds were broken and windows were dirty. Reception did not welcome and guide quests which is basic thing to do.
The hotel is very well situated in the city, close to the centre and to all transport links. The room was correct, beds were very comfortable, bathroom very small, basic but with a good shower. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The restaurant was spacious with very good service by many staff. While the choice was good the quality of products was average and not as good as some of the other places we have stayed.
Slow, terrible service. Rooms were not ready (at 15:45), elevators didn’t work. Could hear loud noises from neighbouring rooms. Shower curtain had a 20cm gap at the bottom, so the whole bathroom was wet after shower. Toilet seat was loose.
+Location nice, close to City center. +Price ok +Staff very helpfull and kind. +Breakfast was good, there was all you could wish for a breakfast. -Noise.. example a lot of feet stamping, have not heard such a noise in other hotels. -old, a bit worn out Rooms -Beds/pillows.. specially Kids bed(foldable couch) was pretty terrible. Both child said they couldn't sleep becouse bed was so bad.
Location is excellent. Hotel is max average quality. Air quality in hotel room was not good. There are no minibars. Reception did not reply to calls before arrival and was not very friendly. Also "forgot" to deduct my 5 euro coupon from in-hotel purchases.
The room was filthy and needed renovation. Room curtains has blood stains and holes. Wc was also filthy and floor was full of previous customers hair. wc's rack was going to drop off and the walls has stains and stickers. I've visited few times scandic hotels and everytime the room is filthy and needed renovation. i cant recomment Scandic hotels, if you like a clean room.
We stayed here for two nights as a family. We had a pleasant stay and left the place happy. The common areas at the hotel surely looks dated and needs a total makeover. However the rooms are newer and is comfortable. They are quite spacious with a street view. The tram stops right in front of the hotel. So the location is great in terms of connectivity. One can even walk to the city centre. The breakfast had a decent spread and we enjoyed it. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Scandic hotels in Helsinki show great variation in price and quality. Kaisaniemi is in the cheap-and-dirty category. Next time I will pay the extra price and choose e.g. Simonkenttä, Marski, or Meilahti.
Hotel location was good, just next to main railwaystation of Hki. What wasn't so good was noice which came out from tram. Room was to the main street. Otherwise pretty ok. Personnel was polite anf breakfast was good.
Again at Scandic Kaisaniemi. It is half way through on my regular business trip. I come late and leave early. Downtown Helsinki offers plenty of restaurants around to have dinner. Breakfast is good to kick off the day. Service is always friendly.
