First off, the location of this hotel is perfect. For many travelers, that is the most important thing. If you are only coming for a single night, like my wife and I did, than this place isn't that bad.

However, if you are looking to make a week of it, invest a few more euros and stay someplace better. The rooms are absolutely tiny. The floor was warped, the moldings were coming off the side of the wall, the shower was rife with mildew and the TV never worked, even though the woman at the front desk tried to fix it (by saying she tried to fix it, she ran the Channel scanner again and walked out).

Even getting into the hotel was a crappy experience. You have to use an old fashioned elevator that has no grating that slides across and protects you from the floor doors. This kind of elevator would be banned anywhere in North America for being unsafe, but not here I guess.

Also, no free breakfast. The overwhelming majority of hotels in Europe offer a free breakfast. This place wanted another 7 euro. No thanks. Helsinki is my favorite place in all of Europe, don;t let this crap hole ruin the experience for you.

You can't get to sleep with the noise from the street below. 5 nights and I a,M going home exhausted with noise from bars and traffic regardless of low cost and location just not worth losing the sleep over

Right in the heart of the action, with access to great restaurants, shopping, and the transportation hubs Hotel Finn was perfect for us…
We easily strolled to the Church in the Rock, the ferry terminal, and all of the best shopping places… Very clean and charming too.. love the decor!

This isn't five star, and you shouldn't be expecting that at these prices. But this is a great little place if you're looking for a no frills but still spotlessly clean and friendly stay, at a good price, right in the centre of Helsinki. Great service too, I even used the washing machine and dryer for free!

The Finn is well located only a few hundred metres from the Helsinki railway station, and from all the downtown shops/attractions. It is a budget hotel, which we booked for a one day stay at the very last moment (the day before) due to a flight mix up. In that regard it suited us perfectly. The young woman at the reception desk was friendly and helpful on our arrival and when we returned to take our luggage from storage (itself a great facility the way it's been set up). Given the type of hotel it is, it was hard to fault. Our bathroom was a bit smelly, but this did not detract from our sleep.

The Hotel is perfect to base yourself in wonderful Helsinki. Everything very clean and the bed comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. My room was very small, however I was travelling solo (with hand luggage only) so didn't matter, would have been very cramped for 2, I would however stay here again in a heartbeat.

The best part about this hotel is location (which you will see in other reviews too). However this is where it ends if you are looking for other facilities in a hotel (e.g. breakfast, lobby to chill out, views etc.).
The rooms are clean (though look a bit outdated with scratches on walls etc.) and a decent bathroom. We stayed here for just a night. The staff at reception were quite helpful.
I would recommend staying here if you want to spend most of the time outdoors and come back to sleep at night (nothing more).

The location of the hotel is very good and it exceeded my expectations for a 2 star hotel.
Self check in service is great for late arrivals Breakfast was not included in the room rate, but you can get a very good breakfast at a discount price right across the street.
Rooms and bathrooms are very very clean and everything is right at hand.
If you are looking for a budget hotel for a couple of nights in Helsiki, then this is one of the best choices for you!

Hotel Finn is conveniently located within 10mins walk from the main station. Some tram lines too nearby. Easily walkable.
Small lift is available to get to the 6th floor
Good value over money, considering Helsinki is one of the most expensive cities on planet Earth.

Hi Glembidor! Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to write this review. Glad to hear you liked our central location - we are located just next to the central railway station, and all the tram lines of Helsinki are within 5 minutes walk from the hotel. We are always trying to keep ourselves on the budget-end of hotels in Helsinki, so we are happy to hear you found good value for the money with us. Hope to see you again, have a great spring! Kind regards Paula, Hotel Finn

Although the reception and main entrance don´t create a great first impression and the walls are so far from being soundproof that it is easy to hear what´s happening in other rooms, the room we stayed in was very good for a 2/2.5 star hotel due to the following reasons:

1) The room was clean and had plenty of space
2) Our room (doesn´t apply to all) had a view to the pedestrian street
3) The bathroom floor-heater makes it very comfortable to walk in there and the bathroom fan is always on to compensate for the lack of windows in that room.
4) We had to go through two locked doors before reaching our room, which makes things safer considering that the building is shared with other businesses.

Also, the hotel is well located as it is close to the train station, some of Helsinki´s most important landmarks and it is also surrounded by shopping malls and restaurants.

Dear Odon S, thank you for your detailed review. We are happy to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. We can agree that our entrance and reception aren't the fanciest ones, but we think that the inside matters most, and we're happy to find that you seem to agree with us. Thank you for your feedback regarding the positive issues: location, cleanliness, space, heated floor and security, but also for the less positive one: soundproofing. We've recently changed all of our rooms' doors and windows into new ones with improved soundproofing, but we can agree that there is still room for improvement what comes to soundproofing between the rooms. We sincerely hope, that this didn't cause you too much inconvenience and this will be the next thing to be improved. Thank you very much for staying with us and warmly welcome again! Have a nice November! Yours, Lauri / Hotel Finn
