Helsinki is an amazing city and having a good base of operations in a city like this is essential. Hotel Finn is right in the centre is very affordable and follows traditional Nordic minimalist style. Clean with friendly staff and quiet despite the central location. Would have had 5 stars apart from the lack of on site breakfast and air con in the rooms but amazing value for money
The best part about this hotel is location (which you will see in other reviews too). However this is where it ends if you are looking for other facilities in a hotel (e.g. breakfast, lobby to chill out, views etc.). The rooms are clean (though look a bit outdated with scratches on walls etc.) and a decent bathroom. We stayed here for just a night. The staff at reception were quite helpful. I would recommend staying here if you want to spend most of the time outdoors and come back to sleep at night (nothing more).
This is a small but very nice hotel. The location is superior for not so much money. No breakfast or restaurant, but there are plenty of cafes and eateries around. The toilet is narrow... if you are tall, using the toilet is kind of hilarious. The street noise can be a bit much at night as well as the smokers at the bars downstairs :-(
My husband and I stayed here in May 2019 over the weekend he was running the Helsinki marathon. The hotel is very easy to find from the train station, just a few minutes walk. We arrived around midnight and were a bit concerned as we approached the hotel and realised it is in a busy street filled with bars and there was a lot of people around. However, we were lucky to find we had been given a room facing the back of the building and we honestly did not hear a sound so if you are worried about the noise, request a room there. When you walk through the corridors, it definitely feels a bit more like a hostel than a hotel but we were pleasantly surprised by the room. The room was a decent size for 2 people, beds were fairly comfy and the shower was great! The hotel is very…
The hotel was good for the price paid. The location was perfect, since it was very close to Helsinki railway station. The room was clean and the staff healpful, but I would have liked some recommendations from the staff of places to see and so on. The only problem for me was the shower, since the bathroom was rather small and there was no separation between the toilet and the shower itself. So, every time I showered I made the entire bathroom wet. Overall, I'd recommend the place!
