Clarion Hotel Mestari garners praise for its prime location, which guests find convenient for exploring nearby attractions and accessing transport. The modern and clean ambiance receives accolades, especially the comfortable bedding and contemporary décor. While many guests are delighted with the exceptional service and excellent breakfast that adds to the hotel's value, some feel the rooms are on the smaller side and have noted occasional maintenance and housekeeping oversights. Despite these concerns, the overall cleanliness and amenities contribute to a positive experience for travelers.

I stayed at Hotel Mestari for three nights in March. The hotel is very new, clean and stylish. I stayed solo in a "Builder King" room on the 4th floor (I visited Helsinki with a friend who stayed in one of the bigger rooms with a balcony on the 6th floor). Everything was smart and comfortable. Staff were all pleasant and efficient.

The room had everything I needed, including a small fridge for juice etc. (the mini bar items stored in the fridge were very pricy, but that's not unusual in my experience - pop down the road to one of the local K Marts or to Lidl instead for snacks). There was sufficient storage for clothes, a giant telly that I didn't use, a big window letting in plenty of light, and a very nice bathroom. There were reusable takeaway coffee cups that could be filled downstairs at the bar for free with filter coffee, and there was instant coffee and a kettle in the room too. I requested an iron and ironing board via email beforehand and it was waiting for me in the room when I arrived.

Two minor points about the room; the room doors were the heaviest I've ever encountered; I assume this is for fire safety, but I can imagine some people struggling to open them without assistance. The bed was extremely comfortable, but incredibly hot. I woke every night absolutely boiling, as did my friend. This might just be that we aren't used to down bedding, but we were both looking for an "off switch" as though the bed was heated! So you may not need your pyjamas if you're staying here.

Location-wise, it was perfect. Helsinki is a very walkable city if you're physically able, and I'm told public transport is excellent if not. (The train drivers were on strike when we were there but we caught the 600 bus from the airport to the train station instead.)

Overall, I'd recommend staying here, and would consider staying again.

Having arrived in Helsinki Ona business trip I find the hotels location to be just right , it’s warm clean abs very friendly , the staff welcomes me 4 hours early then check in time and offered me a room to leave my luggage , allowing me to see the city , staff helped me with interesting scene to see around the city and also handed me a map pin pointing out , after a few more hours I return to the hotel being able to check in 90 minutes before 3pm , the room was very clean and quiet as I needed a good nights sleep due to 14 days if travelling non business .
Breakfast had everything you could think off the only criticism is the Price nearly €20 for breakfast and as I was travelling alone. I didn’t get any shuffle into my room so I paid for a standard overall then hotel is mint , 10/10 from me

The hotel is nice enough and the rooms are comfortable and provide all the amenities including a safe. There is breakfast in the lobby area and you can have coffee/tea 24/7.
They will store your luggage waiting for rooms - check in at 3 - and hold it waiting for flights.
The interior area is nice enough, the staff provide service but are not overly friendly or helpful unless asked specifically for something.
The location is good not far from the train station or city centre and there are restaurants and supermarkets and malls/stores and museums all nearby.

My wife and I stayed at H. Mestari for 3 nights in March, as part of our journey to Finland and Lapland. Everything was beyond any expectations. The room, the lounge, the location, the breakfast, the staff...
The location of H. Mestari is definitely great. Everything one might need was in walking distance. E.g. the central railway station (5min away on foot even with snow), the Kamppi Mall just one block away, with shops, supermarkets and tram/bus/metro stations, even the port (market square 10 min).
The building and the industrial deco-style of the hotel was marvelous. Our warm and spacious room (Architect balcony king room no 612) was a combination of tastefull deco, comfort, amenities and technology. A massive and comfortable bed, an amazing shower and bathroom, plenty of light through the large window and a nice city view from the balcony, free coffee/tea available 24/7 etc.
The breakfast was just... amazing! Perfectly served in a cozy and tastefull lounge, without queues.
The staff was full of kindness and always available to help you with anything you might need.
Last but not least, I really enjoyed the self check-in using the app a few days prior to my arrival, where I could even choose my room!
To sum up, my overall experience was far beyond my expectations. I will definitely visit this hotel again. Congratulations to H. Mestari and many many thanks. Paljon onnea ja kiitos!!!

Originally we had booked the best category room Fairytale Corner at the new AX Hotel in Jätkäsaari. One day before, we were informed that this Fairytale Corner room is not ready yet and we could be moved to a suite in Mestari Hotel which is also a new hotel in Helsinki. Both hotels belong to the same Finnish hotel chain Primehotels.

This Master Builder Suite is not a proper suite. It is actually two connecting rooms. There are three doors with locks to be opened with key cards. We noticed soon that it is too complicated for us to live in that kind of room.

We thought that it is better to have a balcony than an extra bedroom. We were changed to an Architect Balcony King. Master Builder Penthouse (a suite with a balcony) was not ready yet although it could have been reserved for our night.

However, the balcony room was not much better. It had only one chair inside. The spacious balcony was unfurnished. It is an absolute no-no to have only one chair in a double room. The other person has to stand or lie in the bed.

The bathroom was small but practical. Also, the room was well equipped. There was a soda stream machine, a clothes steamer, and a little bit strange way to make coffee in a hotel room with a coffee press machine.

The breakfast was excellent. The hotel was probably quite empty and the breakfast was pleasantly calm. The food selection was wide.

Dear Mikael, thank you for this review. We appreciate all feedback as this way we can improve our services. Im sorry to hear that you were not completely happy with the layout of our Master Builder Suite. Unfortunately the outdoor furniture was still missing from the Architect Balcony King rooms when you stayed in Hotel Mestari. However Im glad to tell you that now they are in place and our guests can relax and enjoy even more the beautiful summer nights at the balcony. Im happy to hear that you really liked our breakfast. Have a nice summer and welcome back again. Kind regards, Päivi, Hotel Mestari

The hotel is central which helped us explore the city and reach easily shops and restaurants. The rooms are spacious, very well cleaned and the bathroom is spot-on. The staff is friendly and helpful and this is a plus as it felt like being home. We had to take the overnight train and they’re so organised to have luggage room where we could drop our suite cases and allow us to visit the city a bit more before embarking to our trip to Rovaniemi. We recommend this hotel and we’ll be back once in Helsinki.

Best part of the hotel is its location. Walking distance to a lot of places in downtown Helsinki.

It's a 3-star hotel. Tiny lobby, no help with luggage, and sparse rooms. Heavy door wouldn't close all the way, so more than once I left with the door ajar. But wifi was good.

Rooms don't have a closet but have a safe and blackout curtain. Mattresses are very thin. Bathroom has a combo shower gel/shampoo squirt bottle. Not luxurious as they say in the description, more of a sparse, heavy aesthetic.

Breakfast was ok. Large variety of items. The bread they made there was great. But the hot items were ok. In particular, the scrambled eggs were vile, though on one day they were not bad. The breakfast area is very cramped, and you often see people standing around with plates waiting for tables to clear. Often running out of plates and tables not getting cleared - but this is probably because they are new and getting into the swing of things.

From the airport, it was an easy train ride to the central station, then a 8 euro taxi ride to the hotel.

What an amazing stay! The hotel provides an incredible breakfast, with the most comfortable bed and pillow I've ever slept on at a hotel -- to the point where I actually stripped the sheets and pillow cases back to take photos of the brands so I could buy them for home.

The location is within perfect walking distance to all Helsinki sights, with lots of great coffee shops and restaurants around the area.
We were celebrating our anniversary and the hotel gave us a drink voucher which was a nice treat. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, I couldn't fault this property at all, other than to say, I wish the aircon was more adjustable.

We also booked a private sauna which was so relaxing. We booked it for the morning, but in retrospect, would book in the evening next time. A sauna before bed is the perfect way to end your day, especially after lots of exploring.

Rather basic new hotel in Helsinki.
Location is good with a walking distance to the shops. For example to Kamppi it's about 5 minutes and about a 15min walk to the railway station.

I live in Finland and I'm very sad that almost every time I come to Helsinki the customer service is rather poor in many restaurants and hotels. This hotel was no different .The hotel is under the "Prime hotel" consept which means every guest should be treated like a the best guest. You can check the text from the Prime hotels website.

When we arrived at the hotel the service manager was average at the front desk: she didn't introduce the hotel or the breakfast services neather our room. We had some difficulties with our room when we got in. It seemed that knowone had used it before us. Our phone in the room didn't work and there was no remote control for the tv. I had booked a room with the possibility to watch a movie from the rooms balcony but there was no system to watch a movie from. I went to the front desk and the service manager offered a new remote control asking if I can call with my own phone to the front desk if I have something. I'm to "posh" to do so , so I wanted a new room with the possibility to watch the movie from the balcony as promised and as I had paid and booked. The hotel manager joined the conversation and told me that the rooms got ready last week (I booked the room in August) so that's why there are problems with them. She also said that she as well as the other staff members got manuals by email on how to use the rooms movie system but she hasn't had time to look those up or even visit these new rooms.

So I took the manuals and went into our new room. I took my husband and our son from the first room, removed the luggages and our sons crib with my husband and started to figure out how the new room works. It took us five minutes to learn how to use the eguipment. The chromecast works smoothly if you have that for example in your phone. Overall the new room was great.

Breakfast was ok. It had a lot of vibes from the spanish culture. They didn't have proper high chairs for small children though.
When It was time to go I told the same service manager which had been on the front desk yesterday about our stay and the room. She applied "thank you".

Overall I think this hotel is still finding it's place with the rooms and the customer service etc.. I gave two stars just because of the lack of proper customer service and I wouldn't rate this hotel under "prime hotel". No refunds were given from the inconvenience of switching the rooms.
