This hotel is renovated close to perfection. Check in and absorb the Great Gatsby look and feel. Breakfast typical to Scandic with perfect scrambled eggs. Stylish rooms with quality finishes. Lots of spots for taking that perfect insta-ready photo.

The room was excellent, the staff was friendly and in overall the hotel seemed nice. Only drawback we faced is staying 30 min in a line to check-in.. The breakfast selection is okay, especially we liked options for beverages.

This is a very fancy hotel, right next to the central railway station and in the middle of city centre. You can choose to stay in the "old" or the "new" side of the hotel. We choose a room from the new side and were unwillingly woken up at 6 a.m. as the works started at the construction site right below our window... It would have been nice to know about the site when we made the reservation. Otherwise the room was clean and nice, and the king-size bed was comfortable. For the price it is not (yet?) a recommended choice, however. Maybe they get things rolling in the future.

Response from Grand Central Helsinki Reception, Guest Services / Front Office at Scandic Grand Central Helsinki
Responded 2 days ago
Dear WilliamvR3711IW, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review, it does mean a lot! I am so sorry to hear you have been woken up by the construction sites noise. There are a few different construction sites near the hotel, and usually the contractors let us know where and at which times they will be operating, but unfortunately, that is not always the case. Whenever we know there will be possible construction noise, we do avoid giving guests rooms near the sites. It is nice to hear you have enjoyed the beds in the room, and that the room experience overall has been positive. I do hope you will give us another chance to impress you, and you will come and stay with us again in the future! Kind regards, Monika K. Front Office

I really enjoyed my stay! Room 4025 was in the old part of the hotel. The view was of the railroad tracks but I wasn't expecting a sewview. The room was on the small side but well appointed. It was on the longest hotel corridor (in Finland? Europe?) which was over 150 meters. Even the corridors were beautiful, not to mention the restroom on the second floor. And the reception and breakfast area. I wish there was a kettle in the room, that would be the icing on the cake. I had booked an early check in on the Scandic website (€0). On checking in they wanted to charge me the €15. It turned out ok in the end but it wasn't nice to have to explain. Moreover, the person checking me in told me that there was a direct access from the railroad tracks/the station. However, the next day I was told that it wasn't true (there is a door but not in use). Breakfast was yummy and catered for all tastes, I'm sure. Sauna area was beautufil and nice and calm. The lockers were a bit tricky. I had initial problems and so did the lady who came in later.

Easy to reach hotel in city center. As they advertise themselves as 'high-end' hotel, I was really dissapointed. The pics tell you why. General manager replied my feedback professinally, hopefully they will impove under her leadership.
