We booked this hotel for Midsummer Eve to spend most of our time in the Vallila allotment garden at our friends' cottage. This hotel with good tram connections has the authentic and rugged spirit of the bohemian Kallio district. We booked the best room category that is a Junior Suite. The previous time we stayed at this hotel, this room was called a Superior Family Four room. We got our room from the top 8th floor with great views. The noises of the heavy tram traffic didn't disturb us. The suite has a small living room. Somebody had probably broken the living room television because it had been removed. The bathroom with a shower is very small but you can find a separate toilet next to the living room. The bed was good. The breakfast is the most modest Scandic breakfast you can find in Helsinki. Luckily, the hotel was quite empty because the breakfast room is small. Our stay had a quite good value for 109 euros. My partner got his Scandic TOP level welcome gift and a 15 euros voucher for the lobby shop or the room's minibar.…
Nice, place i can recommend ! Easy access with buses and car. I can for sure recommend this for other people, room was quite small but ok for a shorter stay Breakfast was nice and I enjoyed it very much . Our room was close to the elevator and some noise was present , nothing much thou
This was already the fourth time I stayed at this hotel, but this was most probably the last one. The room offered was really undersized with hardly anywhere to hang your clothes, the tablet serving as a phone serving as the only connection to the reception was broken, the TV set was stuck and there were no instructions how to turn down the temperature in the overheated room. Only after presenting myself personally at the reception things were slowly sorted out. Still the noise from the shooting range located in the same building is something you have to be prepared to stand while staying at this hotel. However, the shooting seems to stop around 21:00.
Having stayed last week at an amazing Scandic in Copenhagen, this was really a disappointment, the single rooms are really really small and they feel a bit old. Not even a bed side table next to the bed fitted. The bar was nice and the hotel staff was very nice.
We tried Scandic Kallio for it's nice location. Location is good. You can get around very easy mainly because there are lots of tram lines crossing near this Hotel. There are some negative feedback about the breakfast here. It is true that breakfast hall is on the smaller side and can get crowded during the busy hours of the morning. Breakfast itself is what you can expect from big brand like Scandic: Lot's of stuff and I think it was delicioius. Nothing special but it get the job done very well. One top tip: ask second floor room and from the inner side of building. There are double glasses in the windows and no street noise at all..
