Hotels in Scandic chain are always nice. This is no exception. Th city centre is 20 minutes ride by tram (the stop is just in the front of the hotel). Breakfast was fantastic and staff are extremely kind and helpful. Rooms are big with TV, fridge, bathroom (floor heated). Nice to have the sauna always at your disposal.
I arrived early and they let me check in which was great. Room was really clean and had everything I needed including a fridge. Bed was comfortable and a good shower too. The reception staff were always really pleasant and spoke amazing English. The breakfast was a good spread and was tasty! Would certainly stay again…
Late check-in was available. Breakfast had lots of delicious food. There was beautiful scenery around the hotel. I highly recommend the hotel. Hotel rooms were clean and spacy enough for one night trip.
Visited one night for going out to nearby festival. Nice and helpful staff. Rooms are pretty small but ok and has all basic equipment. Breakfast was good, wide enough variety to choose from. Parking in garage for extra fee.
I arrived early from Singapore but check in was 3 pm. I was too tired to go out so I rested in the lounge area. I was dozing off. The Manager, Nina, and receptionist, Jan, were very caring and helpful. Nina was concerned when she saw me and ask, "Are you ok?" When she learnt about my early arrival, she woke me up and told me my room was ready (earlier than expected). I was given a better room on the top floor. Room was small but cosy and comfortable. I also like the sauna facility. Breakfast was superb in any Skandic hotels. Thank you Nina and Jan.
Stayed 2 nights in a room without a window. Wasn’t bothered by that so much, however the room was quite run down. The floor was broken and there was a piece of metal sticking out where I cut my foot on. Couldn’t walk properly for 2 days which impacted my trip negatively. Also there was some hair on the new bathroom towel so it felt unfresh. Pluspoints for the great breakfast buffet and the quality products in the shower though!
Seen from outside the Scandic Kallio is not appealing at all. The hall is very small, but room was big, clean, well furnished and warm. Staff at the reception and in the breakfast room were really kind and helpful. Great sauna for free! Breakfast is fantastic. 50 meters from the hotel there is the stop for the tram going to the train station and the port where the boat to Stockholm are leaving. By tram is 10 minutes to the train station (and city centre) and 15-20 minutes to the port.
Really good value for the price. Quiet room in which I could both sleep and work very well. The staff is friendly and helpful. Vegan options at breakfast are far better than in most hotels I've stayed in.
We booked this hotel for Midsummer Eve to spend most of our time in the Vallila allotment garden at our friends' cottage. This hotel with good tram connections has the authentic and rugged spirit of the bohemian Kallio district. We booked the best room category that is a Junior Suite. The previous time we stayed at this hotel, this room was called a Superior Family Four room. We got our room from the top 8th floor with great views. The noises of the heavy tram traffic didn't disturb us. The suite has a small living room. Somebody had probably broken the living room television because it had been removed. The bathroom with a shower is very small but you can find a separate toilet next to the living room. The bed was good. The breakfast is the most modest Scandic breakfast you can find in Helsinki. Luckily, the hotel was quite empty because the breakfast room is small. Our stay had a quite good value for 109 euros. My partner got his Scandic TOP level welcome gift and a 15 euros voucher for the lobby shop or the room's minibar.…
Nice, place i can recommend ! Easy access with buses and car. I can for sure recommend this for other people, room was quite small but ok for a shorter stay Breakfast was nice and I enjoyed it very much . Our room was close to the elevator and some noise was present , nothing much thou
