Although this hotel is A little bit away from the city, this is one of my facourite hotel in Helsinki. With A tram 4 you will get there in 15min. Nice restaurant and excellent rooms and breakfast. Swimming pool and sauna and great little gym. Love this hotel.
This hotel has a beautiful seaside location in Munkkiniemi, 6 km from the city center. There is a tram stop nearby and the city center can be reached in 20 minutes by tram 4. The oldest part of the hotel is the round restaurant building from 1936. The white seaside wing from 1969 has deluxe rooms with sea views, one suite with a balcony, and the Meritorppa restaurant. The curvy shape tile building from 1975 has the reception, breakfast restaurant, standard rooms, plus rooms with a balcony, junior suites, and one presidential suite. This time we booked a King Plus room with a balcony. They are located on the 7th and 8th floors. Actually on the 2nd or 3rd floor, because floors 1-5 are in the seaside wing and floors 6-8 in the main wing, where the 6th floor is the ground floor. The plus rooms have a limited sea view because of the trees and the round restaurant building. However, the balcony is lovely if the weather is summery. Breakfast had a good selection of food but it was very busy on Sunday morning. It is sold also to non-hotel guests. It is quite contradictory that on the lobby floor are stickers to remind of the safety distances but during breakfast, it was completely impossible to keep enough distance to other guests. Because of the breakfast, the Hilton CleanStay promise was not completely fulfilled.…
We stayed in the Hilton for two nights. The room was fine, but really really hot. Outside it was 24 degrees Celsius. But inside it got up to 25 degrees. When I inquired about the aircon the reception told me that they had none! And that the temperature stayed around 21,5 all the time. We're a family of three, we all had to sleep on the blankets instead of under because it was so hot. The room itself was fine enough, and the breakfast was ok. But no dinner because the kitchen was closed. Location is beautiful though. Don't go there for the beach either. It was completely littered with geese droppings. The stairs leading to the beach was broken with nails sticking out. Not worthy of the name Hilton, the five stars nor the money. Deeply disappointed.
I stayed here during 3 weeks and liked the sea view, plus the historic feel of the various statesmen that have stayed here before. However, the property is in need of refreshment, some of the furniture is visibly used, the sofa in one of the rooms I had outright dirty (624). The gym is small and unfortunately has no view, maybe it could be shifted into one of the rooms in the Seaview wing where you then could work out with a ... sea view. The staff is extremely friendly, the breakfast great.
Stayed here for 5 nights Feb 1st to March 5th. Good class hotel. We had a guest room plus which was a good size & view of the sea. Breakfast is very good with plenty of choice for anyone & good service by the staff. Although far from the city centre is in a good area & easily accessible by public transport, tram no. 4. Would stay here again if in Helsinki
