Hoel Rivoli was a fantastic place to stay for my 8 day vacation in Helsinki ! The location truly could not have been better and to be so close to Helsinki's main attractions was great. All sorts of public transportation: train, tram, Metro and bus were in easy walking distance. Restaurants, a live theatre up the block, a well equipped supermarket across the street - and the Esplanade right there ! I found the hotel to be well appointed and furnished nicely for my tastes. And the SAUNA in the hotels basement for a private experience was clean and so restful and refreshing. The 10 Euro fee was well worth it. The Hotel's staff was exemplery. Most helpful in suggesting a nearby non-touristy restaurant, I am praticularly grateful to two staff members who recommended this place. Breakfast was worth waking up for (except the scrambled eggs and bacon, sorry!) I particularly liked their make your own waffles station and the grav lox and herring set the tone for my days! And the chocolates at the Front Desk were always available and of very nice quality ! I could not recommend more highly this boutique hotel ! Should I ever have the opportunity of visiting Helsinki, I will stay at the Hotel Rivoli Jardin.

Not fancy, but is in a very good location for your weekend getaway. Rooms are small and show their age, especially the bathroom. Breakfast was very good with an abundance of choices. Now that the night club next door is closed (Covid) it was very silent - I wonder how bad it can get on a "post covid" Thursday which is the night for the nightclub in question.

We stayed three nights at the Rivoli Jardin in October. The hotel is well located, although I would say that the estimate of being 400m from the central station is optimistic, particularly for anyone managing luggage over the varying pavement surfaces. Set back from the road and accessed through a courtyard, the hotel has a small footprint with rooms located over 5 floors. We had a superior room on the 4th floor, directly next to the lift, but the insulation was good and we were not disturbed by noise. Rooms are compact by UK standards, but comfortable; Finnish beds come as doubles but with two single duvets, rooms are warm. We had an easy chair, a desk with chair, space for our luggage and a good sized in-room fridge, handy for storing purchases from the good supermarket less than 100m (just across the road) from the hotel. There was a small amount of storage space, possibly because of the wardrobe being next to the lift shaft, but we were only there for a few nights. The bathroom could have done with a bit of updating, particularly the shower; but there was plenty of hot water - even at 1.00am when we arrived - and towels were of a good size. Staff were friendly and helpful and clearly proud of their hotel. Breakfasts were very good with a selection of hot items - porridge, bacon, sausage and scrambled egg - an excellent waffle maker, cereals, fruit, cold meats and salad, pastries and yogurt, fresh juices and coffee/tea, either from cona jugs or a coffe machine. Breakfast was served in a dining area behind Reception and flowed through to a conservatory. There was hand sanitiser available in Reception and bottles on each table at breakfast. There were not so many Covid-19 restrictions here as at home, only serving to show how used we have become to them. It is about a 5 minute walk to the Old Market Hall, the markt square and the marina in one direction and to the main shopping area in the other. Helsinki is an eminently walkable city. Finland is a country which is quite hard on the budget and the Rivoli Jardin represents good value and comfortable accommodation and the breakfasts will set you up for the day to explore the city.

Very good location in Helsinki city center and very close to a huge supermarket. Breakfast is good. Rooms are clean, nice and silent (but the air conditioning can not be switched off and our room was cold).
