You sleep well in the dark “classic” rooms. Overlooking an inner courtyard you won’t ever see the sky. And can’t tell what the weather is like. Rooms are cleaned very superficially, if they remember it. We found leftovers from previous guests, the tables and bathroom were dirty.

Stayed two nights over the weekend with my wife. Requested a room upgrade upon arrival as Radisson gold member (also did so in the booking made on the hotel's website). Got to the room just to discover it was a standard room. Checked their website to find out that all room categories indeed were available. Called down to the reception to ask, and was then appointed a business class room. On the second day I asked about the missing water bottles for members and the gold welcome gift. They had to check, and came back telling my that they had stopped delivering the member perks due to the corona situation. The amenities could easily have been put in the room prior to our arrival. What a joke! Finally I received two tiny 35 grams chocolate bars - what an insult! This is my fourth Radisson visit in a row in the Nordic countries this year where I received none of my member benefits. I can only conclude that Radisson cares zero about their loyalty program and their loyal customers. The business class room was nothing to write home about - very mediocre. Noisy air condition, mediocre bed quality. Breakfast was O.K. Location is prime next to the railway station. All in all it was a disappointing hotel experience, and I will make sure to put my business elsewhere on future visits to Helsinki.

Fantastic location, 15min walking from all main attractions. Ask to stay in the modern rooms, with TV in the bathrooms and light schemes (some of them need some updates, but are still ok). The breakfast is also great, don’t forget to try the chef’s omelette and waffle.

This hotel is centrally located next to the Rautatientori Railway Square. The historic building dates to 1917, when Finland gained its independence. We booked a Business Class Room from a sale 'two nights for the price of one' for 179 euros for two nights. At that point, there was still mentioned the access to Plaza Lounge but during the summer that was removed from the hotel webpages but at Booking.com there still reads access to an Executive Lounge. The Plaza Lounge has been the absolute highlight of this hotel. No COVID restrictions in Finland do not prevent it from being open. It is probably more a cost-cutting action. One week before our arrival, I got an automated email for upgrades. I made an upgrade to an Executive Suite for 135 euros per night extra. On the next page read that the hotel will soon confirm the upgrade. The confirmation never came. One day before our arrival, I sent an email to the hotel to an address that I found on the hotel webpage. I got never an answer. On arrival at the hotel, I asked about the upgrade. The receptionist told me there are no suites available. Luckily we have Booking.com that told every four suites are vacant for our two-night stay. We got the upgrade. We have stayed many times in the Executive Suites. The four suites are located at the corner of the building. The best Plaza Suite is a two-story suite located on the top floors. The corner location gives you the best views if the windows wouldn't have been very dirty. The room plan is the same in every Executive Suite. The living room is spacious. The bedroom and bathroom are very small. Body lotion had been removed from the toiletries offered. This time I wanted the lowest suite on the second floor. The living room has two stunning half-round windows. I was a little anxious if the noises from the traffic will disturb us because the street has heavy bus traffic. That was not a problem but noises from the neighboring room were. There was a connecting door for a two-bedroom suite. Through the door, we could hear clearly what was spoken and I am sure that they heard what we talked about. So privacy was a huge problem. The first morning, we had breakfast at the restaurant. It was quite good despite the not-so-fresh bread. This time, the coffee was not brought to the table. On Saturday morning, we ordered the breakfast to our suite because it was included in the room rate and the restaurant would probably have been busier. The powder-made scrambled egg was not good. It was very dry. We hate these powder-made scrambled eggs that are so common at Finnish hotels. So usually we eat boiled eggs but that was not an option in the room-service breakfast ordering form.
