I spent one night in the Comfort room on a concert trip and was pleased by how quiet the hotel was despite the nearby construction site. The decor was stylish but not to the point of being too posh, and overall I enjoyed the atmosphere of a small, comfy hotel. The friendly male receptionish also deserves a mention. The beds were very comfortable, and I enjoyed the breakfast, especially the artesan breads and the loose leaf tea. One thing that perhaps surprised me a little was that the room had no kettle or instant coffee/tea available, but it didn't bother me much: I came here to relax, after all. All in all, I can recommend Fabian to anyone looking for a nice place to stay for a small Helsinki getaway, whether alone or in company. I had a good time and could see myself coming again.

Hotel's Favourite
I stayed in hotel Fabian July 2022, and it was a lovely experience. The location of the hotel was great, however there currently is large scale construction opposite the hotel. I was generally up and away by the time the construction started so it didn’t bother me in the morning, and the soundproofing of the building was adequate. The breakfast included in the room was lovely, with fresh fruit, smoothies and juices. It felt like a healthy breakfast with a good variety to choose from. I used the mini fridge during my stay, which is on the pricey side, as are all establishments in Helsinki city centre (All prices are clearly stated in the room, though) - if you want to buy cheaper alcohol there is a Alko shop next to Hotel Fabian. There is also a grocery story just next to the hotel, on the side of Kasarmitori. The hotel is also very close to all the sights one would want to visit, such as Esplandinpuisto, Kauppatori - where boats leave to Korkeasaari (Zoo) and Soumenlinna (military fortress island). Senaatin Tori is also close, where you can see the famous Tuomionkirkko church. Electric scooters are readily available and you can also quickly get to sites like the famous Oodi Library. On my final day I was very hungover and the staff kindly arranged for late check-out, and the service was friendly - with everyone being able to accommodate me speaking English. Apologies to the two young girls in the morning for having to deal with my very hungover checkout, haha! Thanks for the stay, I will probably stay here again next time I visit Helsinki :) I forgot to take photos of the room, but this is one showing the nice design in the entrance and large mirrors, and a good amount of storage in the cupboards - the room also had a desk and mirror in front of it which was useful for doing one’s hair, the bathroom also had a plug for hair styling equipment and had a hair dryer available.

This is a really bad place. There is a major construction site across the street starting their work at 7am. You will have absolutely no chance to sleep, They did not offer any alternative rooms. They did not warn us during the booking process..

Dear Robertz910, I am sorry to read that you where not able to get a good night sleep here with us. On your day of arrival the house was sold out as a small hotel we were not able to change your room in the afternoon. I was able to talk about the situation yesterday during your check out and we agreed on the compensations. Please accept this compensation as my apology, for I am truly sorry for the inconvenience the work being done in the area has caused you. Regards

An exceptionally good boutique hotel. One block from the see, a couple of blocks from the lively and famous market square and the cathedral (Suurkirkko). The room what a lot of space for one person but would very well work also for two. Elegant decoration. Everything a frequent traveller could ask: adjustable air condition, window could be opened (with the assistance of the staff who had the key),when AC was switched off, it really was quiet, no baseline humming. A closet with space for small things and underwear, well equipped bathroom with amenities, space for toiletries, a magnifying mirror, well working shower separated by a glass door from the rest of the bathroom, hooks for towels. Goes without saying that the room was quiet, the bed was very good and everything was impeccably clean. Friendly and very helpfull staff. A nice, even innovative breakfast; no usual scrambled-eggs-and-bacon, but several smoothies and vegetables, but also oatmeal, boiled eggs, good bread, cutlery, cheese.... I have not one word of criticism. No restaurant in the hotel, but several different good restaurants in a few blocks. Hope to come back!

What a lovely place to stay. Hotel Fabian was our base to explore Helsinki for 3 days and we could not have wished for a better place to be. The team at the hotel are really welcoming and so helpful. They have loads of suggestions for places to eat during an public holiday when we struggled to find places open. They helped us to find shops to replace items that the airline lost when they lost our luggage and were generally just brilliant. The hotel itself is in the middle of everything so we were able to walk most places and even took on our first scooter experience to head further out. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and really comfortable. We would definitely stop again when we return to Helsinki.

I stayed for three nights over the Easter weekend. Check in was very smooth, and the receptionist was extremely helpful. The room was compact but very clean and comfortable, with a good sized safe which came with a built-in socket for charging devices. The courtyard - facing room was extremely quiet and well - insulated, and allowed in a lot of light even on an early spring day. Buffet breakfast was excellent, with a good spread of continental breakfast items as well as Finnish specialities such as Karelian pasties. The hotel was an excellent base for exploring Helsinki on foot, due to its central location. It certainly deserves another visit!

We had a Lux room and it was beautiful! Just perfect for us, there was a lot of room. The bed was HUGE! And we had our own Nespresso at the room. The breakfast was excellent and the staff was friendly. The only thing what could have been better was the shower. To have that luxurious room but still only a shower head with poor water pressure was a shame. I was longing for a rain shower that would have been perfect!

My wife and I stayed at the Fabian (March 2022) for a long weekend. The hotel staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The room was spotless and cleaned thoroughly every day. Beds comfortable and a good breakfast with a wide selection of food and drinks. It was our first visit since the Covid pandemic. The hotel is well situated for easy pedestrian access to the city and shops. So much so we could return during the day to drop our shopping off in our room. Highly recommended.

This 58-room boutique hotel with stylish decor is centrally located near Market Square. This was our third stay at this hotel. Now we booked the least expensive Comfort room from the Black Friday sale for 100 euros. The rate was flexible until one week before arrival and included breakfast. I am a Nordic Choice Platinum member and this hotel belongs to that hotel chain as part of Kämp Collection Hotels. Until one week before our arrival, we had got a two-category upgrade to the best Lux room but on the arrival week, we were downgraded to the Style category which is the middle category between Comfort and Lux. During check-in, I asked why the downgrade was made. The friendly receptionist told us that the Style room we have been assigned is better and bigger than the available Lux rooms. Style rooms are 22-39 sqm and Lux rooms 22-45 sqm. The biggest difference in Lux rooms is the kitchenette that Styles rooms don't have. Now we got room #606 which was much better than the Style room #604 that we had last time. The biggest problem in these top-floor rooms is the vaulted ceiling. My partner had only one hit to his head while rising up from the chair. On our first stay, we probably got the best Lux room #412. This Style room was quite far from that. This time I am giving 5 stars because our stay had excellent value for money. The normal price for the Style room would have been 209 euros. I also got a 13-euros Platinum voucher that could be used for the minibar except for alcohol.

Dear Mikael, Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to write this review. I am delighted to read that you were able to make the most of our Black Friday offer. I Feel that honesty is the best option and during the situation during your stay we felt that accommodating you in one of our nicer style rooms is the better choice than the one Lux room available at that time. I am happy that you tell us that we made the right choice even though the vaulted ceiling would not be your preferred choice. You are probably right that the 412 you stayed in on your previous stay is one of our nicest rooms in the establishment. Once a again thank you for your feedback and warmly welcome back again, Regards Mats Lindfors Hotel Fabian
