Refreshing hotel with that extra cherry on top. Spacious room, good breakfast and a lovely way of welcoming the guest with small gestures. Art surrounded the hotel and made the location perfect for a little energising mini vacation. Great pool and sauna. Easy to reach also by subway. Free parking.
We visited for a couple of day actually quite near to us. The hotel in built as a co-operation between Finland and Sweden and was finished in 1975. It was a representation of high quality and stylish at that time. The hotel is renovated in 2016. The rooms are comfortable. The service is very good by friendly people. It has an excellent sauna and swimming pool. You can also swim in the sea but the water temperature are most of the year under 15 C ( as also today morning 9.8.) The restaurant has excellent kitchen! Both breakfast and dinner were every time highest quality. I had ( actually twice) the fish of the day, that happen to be whitefish. It is very often prepared too dry, but this grilled whitefish was really succulent. I have never has better whitefish in my life! Strong recommendation for the hotel!…
Well renovated, art-focused destination. Very peacefull small hotel, room is well equipped and fresh air. Very clean. Very friendly, Finnish personnel. The location by the sea is stunning. There is a sea view from every room. Sauna and pool excellent. And the breakfast superb, not like in the chain hotels. Will come again. And this is a genuine valuation from a customer, not paid.
Stayed one night here. Peaceful and beautiful location near water and nature. The building and decor are a stylish mix of Scandinavian seventies and modern minimalism. Interesting sculptures in the garden.
I had the pleasure of visitng Hanaholmen in June to attend a business conference. It is really an amazing place. Located on a small island you get in close contact with the sea and feel that you are far away from the stress and busy life in the city. Then again you are just minutes away from the Helsinki city centre. Good food, a nice bar and great outdoor area. Hope for nice weather and enjoy your time - if you're lucky you get a room facing the ocean and you can wake up to the magic from the waves.
We ended up here by accident when choosing a hotel. But it became clear we found something out of ordinary. The hotel is on an island close to the capital but feels like you are on distant rural landscape surrounded by the sea. Every room has a sea view. The building remind me of the 70's era and is renovated with respect. Rooms are big and light, beds are the best you can have, bathrooms modern and stylish. Sauna and specially the pool is amazing with deep blue tiles and the direct sea view where you have access from the pool by walking. Breakfast was good and generous with everything basic you need. Dinner is real cuisine with Nordic menu including Reindeer ofcourse. Staff is very helpful and friendly, and we got extra special thing when we took the second night, thanks ;-) ! If you wish something out of ordinary then this is definitely for you ! Read the history and study the architecture yourself, details will amaze you, it isn't just a hotel !…
I liked Design of the hotel, design of the room. All this little details like ginger shot in minibar or finish books. Also This big windows are awesome. I enjoyed waking up and opening curtains for that view. 70s interiors are nice. I noticed that staff at the restaurant was little bit snobish at night:) Also i think is nothing to do there more than one day. unless u are a writer and need to work in nature and silence:) yes i noticed free bikes) thats great! maybe next time ill explore them! Swimming pool is so nice, but definitely needs sun beds Breakfast was ok but worse that u expect from such places that pretend to be special:) Free parking is huge plus in Finland:)
My wife and I attended a 3-day conference and decided to arrive a couple of days before the conference in order to go around Helsinki. The hotel has a great water view and is a short 12 minute walk to the Metro station. The city center is just a ten minute ride so it was a good choice to stay in this hotel. The staff were all very helpful and the breakfast was great. Make sure to use the sauna facility.
Cane for 3 nights for a conference at Aalto. Easy check in. Lovely locally stylled room. Tea, coffee facilities. Good range on LCD TV. Good shower, range of toilettries. Enough storage for clothes. Shut out curtains for the constant daylight. Good range of hot and vold breskfast. Beautiful location on an island between Helsinki and Espoo. 10 min walk to metro and two stops to my conference. Didnt get to use any other facilities as conference provided food and drink at lunch and dinner so was too late to use the spa. Would love to visit again for leisure.
The premises were really nice, and everything seems very clean. The staff were helpful and assisted in finding the closest public transportation etc. The breakfast was really nice, a bit smaller selection than I thought but everything that was there, was a good quality of that dish / meat / etc. The nature around the hotel were stunning beautiful, especially now in summer. There weren't an evening sauna available, which is pretty much the only bad thing I can think of. And the evening wine bar rates are slightly too expensive for what you get.
