Very nice and clean hotel! I was travelling with two kids and we enjoyed so much. Food was delicious even though they didn't have any menu for children. Breakfast was so good and versatile. I highly recommend this place to everyone!
My stay in the hotel was actually quite enjoyable. Nothing to complain about actually. Restaurant service was lovely, very talkative and friendly staff, Took a beef burger, nicely done, tasted good and snails in oil. Nice eat. Breakfast was not that special, rather dull, just like in most of the hotels though. Hotel itself looks clean and tidy, but somewhat old and dated, not in bad way but it feels like it was built ages ago. However, in a bizarre way, this moss covered concrete block kind of blends in the environment. It doesn't stand out and for me, that is a bonus. Lavish hotel should not overwhelm the beauty of the nature. Bed was comfortable, shower was clean and worked well. Didn't go for a swim in the swimming pool but the lake water was great. Very warm and clear water. Also good to get in from granite banks. I really had trouble when evaluating with three or four stars, but stayed on four because of the balance of the experience. All and all, nice, would visit again, when in the area. Btw Serena water park is basically next door...…
I was tempted to give the hotel four points, but then again the hotel itself is just a good three. It is clean, the service is good and the rooms comfortable. The building itself is very "seventies" - large concrete block. However, this as such rather ugly "concrete block" could not sit in a more beatiful spot in the middle of a forest and next to a small lake with rock shores. The view from everywhere (our room, the spa, restaurant and terrace bar) was simply magnificent. What actually finally made me deside to give three points was the restaurant: our dinner was a disappointment and the breakfast was not that great either : E.g the sausages were awful - one could see that they had been warmed at some point (I hope that that had not been the day before), but now they were cold.
The natural beauty surrounding the hotel provides a great atmosphere for finding a bit of peace, and not far from the airport. It sadly did not meet our party’s needs, though, for an all-around positive stay. Twin beds in the room were just fine, and the cleaning staff had the place sparkling. No kettle, no fridge in the simple room, but a big window encouraging you to get outside. Wifi works great. The pool, sauna and pond for cooling off were great amenities, and the views can’t be beat. Surrounded by forest with a small pond. Wonderful location. But unfortunately the pool and sauna areas were quite full of guests who did not abide the rules: from keeping safe pandemic distances to monitoring children in the water, it was challenging to find a time to get some peace. The jacuzzi is not kept hot, so lower your expectations to match with the moderate temperature. Local sports facilities were run down or overgrown (beach volleyball and tennis courts), adding to a feeling of neglect to some potentially great facilities for business groups, e.g., the smoke sauna and other small wooden buildings for retreats were wearing at the seams. And sadly the pandemic took its toll on restaurant service, mostly closed. The “great big breakfast” was meaty and cheesy, so only cereal, bread and jam for this plant-eater. They did have oat milk, but no source of protein or variety. Staff also did not have food solutions when we called in advance to make arrangements before our arrival, so luckily we packed in food for nutritious options. Great short walks around the pond, a solid distraction from being inside. Staff offered friendly maps, but admittedly hadn’t gone around the trails themselves. Lots of room for improvements, so proceed with caution.…
It was an Euro trip last year November, 2020. Went to Finland after Italy and Estonia. Journey through Tallinn to Helsinki was amazing. My friend fixed the hotel just on the day we were on the cruise. Didn't realize it was too far from airport, but had an amazing experience reaching there amidst of forest and lake view. Service was excellent. Ladies at the front office were very helpful. Room was really good. Breakfast was good as well. Would be better if dinner was available. I enjoyed most was the swimming pool and the lake view was simply outstanding. Hope to visit there once in Finland again for Northern lights.
We stayed here overnight at the beginning of February. The room was lovely and comfortable ( although my husband opened the window ) with a view of the lake and forest outside. The breakfast was tasty, varied and fulfilling with lovely views from the spacious dining room.We were lucky enough to have snow overnight so we had a lovely walk around the frozen lake before we left with ample time to take photos of the snowy scenery. The staff were polite and helpful and I was especially impressed by the fact that I left my cardigan in the dining room by mistake, called them about it when I realised a couple of days later, and they posted it back to me, free of charge. That really is good customer service!! :)
I stayed here for 1 night. The room was cold, asked at reception for another room but that one was even colder. I had to put some towels on the heating so it would stop blowing cold air in the room. This is definitely something that should be fixed. Overall the people were friendly but the room was not clean. There was mold in the showers. Good location but would not stay here again.
Location = in the forest (15 miles from downtown - 12 miles from the Airport HEL) Parking = Outside free of charge Staff = courteous. Style = modern. Room = good. Cleanliness = good. Bathroom = good Cleanliness = good Restaurant = good restaurant Breakfast = very good. Facilities = gym, sauna and pool. PRICE = regular (four stars) REMARKS = the hotel in the forest close to a small lake. The gym and pool are very nice. When I am in the area I always stay here.
The Korpilampi is north of Espoo in the Finnish countryside next to a small lake, it is a 30 minute drive from the airport and with a SatNav pretty easy to find. It is near a waterpark, so expect families and children there during the summer months and seems popular destination for coach loads of Chinese tourists. The hotel has a definite late 1970's feel to it, the reception staff are friendly and efficient. The rooms are functional, I found it quiet and comfortable with a TV in the room and very good broadband (Free), but no mini bar or room service available and the room air conditioning was pretty feeble, so the room was warmer than I would have liked. There is a restaurant, but I only had breakfast which covered the basics for a good breakfast - There is a small coffee, snack bar next to reception which was useful to get a decent coffee and light sandwiches. The swimming pool was a good size and about 6 foot deep in the middle section, there are also Saunas and a very large, well equiped gym. Some nice walks around the lake available and easy car parking available. Overall a pleasant hotel, not on par with a Hilton hotel (Like the Strand in Helsinki) but for 89 Euro's a night including breakfast it was good value.…
Everything was great but restaurant food experience must be highlighted. The best dinner was organised by host and, besides the very fine chosen dishes, excellent wines were served. I also like the sauna with pool and small lake - only small remark: I missed a drinking water
