Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel with historical past. There were also lots of art pieces. Really good beds. Staff was super friendly and nice. Rooms were clean and there were little bottles of shampoo, conditioner, mouthwater, cleanser and soap. Breakfast was really good.

Lunch was disapointed. Hamburger buffee 12,90€ for each, was not home made indeed. We havent eaten as bad restaurant food ever. Cold, white bread with industrial maded beef. Unbelievable! And chief of the restaurant only said sorry, thats all.

I stayed in this hotel for one night, room 209. The hotel is made in the model of an old hospital and the hotel room was designed to remind about a hospital room, including the bathroom reminding of a bathroom in a hospital. It was a kind of interesting solution, perhaps not to everybody’s liking but an interesting experience. The decoration was simple and the room represented a kind of “minimal” style: there were only a limited amount of things and thus the room did not feel like too full of stuff. I liked that feature of the room. When entering the building where the room was, I noticed quite stuffy air in the corridors. The air was also somewhat stuffy in the room at first. I opened the window and this helped significantly. The window had two parts on top of each other and I kept the other part of the window open throughout the night and that turned out to be a very good solution: the air remained very good for me. There was no air conditioning. Still, I would not recommend at least the rooms in the old part of the building for those who usually suffer much from stuffy indoor air. The hotel room was very clean. There was enough space in the room for clothes and much space in the bathroom as well. The view was to the park nearby, with a view to the water as well, which was overall really nice. The sound insulation was very good. The room temperature was good, neither too hot nor too cold. The breakfast was excellent and diverse: bread, yoghurts, different types of pastry, juices, cheeses, ham, fruits, vegetables… The service was excellent and the receptionists were helpful. The location is somewhat of a walk from the city center and there were not that many restaurants close by. However, the center is about one kilometer away and there are a lot of restaurants. I can recommend the walk in the park towards the city center: the park is quite nice at least during summer. If going to Oulu next time, maybe I would choose a hotel closer to center. I was attending an event in Lasaretti when visiting it, and thus in this situation, this was an excellent place in terms of location.

Unique location, quiet, clean and cozy. I’d stay there again. I was grateful for the electric water kettle that enabled me to enjoy my morning coffee alone in the comfort of my room, just how I like it. I checked in late, after 11pm and after reception was closed but the friendly security guard made my arrival easy, and she helped me to find my room which would have been a bit confusing were it not for her. Thanks for everything.

Loved to stay there. It's hard to reach your room when you're with heavy luggage though as you need to use 2 different elevators (the second one is at the very end of the long floor) but once you made it and enter the room all the burden is forgotten. The rooms are really very nice. Mattress was awful though - very soft and building a curve to the middle. Felt quite unhappy falling asleep but have to admit once I was asleep, I slept unexpectedly well. The view from the 3rd floor was very nice. Could capture a terrific sunset. Restaurant was good, too.

Nice hotel with clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. Breakfast with plenty of choices, quite good quality. The location of the hotel was excellent during warm summertime, next to the river and beautiful parks - and not far away from the city centre. Only downside during our stay was most of the staff did not use face masks even there is a recommendation to use them because of the Covid. It felt like they were not interested in customer safety.

We booked this hotel in advance for a visit to Oulu and arrived late at night. As we were told previously the place served as a main hospital and was converted into a hotel rather recently. Reception and breakfast area are in a separate building, while accommodation block is in the building next to it. One can reached it either by internal bridge or from outside. Initially i had a problem to locate my room but on a day 2 i got used to the buildings and even found a separate entrance to the living unit. Rooms are rather modern and bathrooms are also excellent. Bedding is of super quality. Breakfast was also good, with variety of food and bit crowded. Location also merits attention, as you can enjoy a walk in the park and river just next to the hotel. In 10 minutes walk you can reach the center of the city and taxi is also parked next to the hotel. Overall great experience and can be considered as a place for stay when in Oulu.

The reception was friendly and helpful. The room were in a separate building that was a bit awkward. The room was average. The restaurant was very basic and the menu limited. Breakfast was edible but not great.

We stayed for one night on our road trip from Finland to Norway (Oulu was a perfect stop between Helsinki and Norway). We chose this hotel based on other trip adviser reviews. The room was clean and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. We got to choose a view of the river or a view of the hotel yard, we chose the river view (chose the view of the river if you get a chance). They had the customer's safeness in mind; hand sanitizers everywhere and in breakfast every other table was off limit (or it was told to the guests to keep this in mind). There where rubber gloves to use of taking coffee and beverages, but unfortunatelly i didn't see anyone using them (only me and my boyfriend...even if there was signes and instructions but nobody cared except for us and the staff). I think the signs with instructions should be clearer or with a bigger font. The staff was friendy and wishes us a good morning. We had a room including breakfast. All in all, a good hotel near Oulu center with a pretty park to walk through to get to the center.

This hotel is an attraction as it is a remodeled hospital. The staff is extremely nice and speak excellent English (among other languages). The surroundings are very beautiful and one can take a bike and pedal to a huge natural park and zip to the city center. The rooms are a bit hard to access since they are located in a different building from the lobby. There is an excellent restaurant for buffet style breakfast and lunch. One can also get coffee, pastries or drinks with extended hours.
