Returning to Oulu for the first time in 3 years for the Irish Festival, I decided to treat myself to a week at this hotel. It is in such a great location, and the room was very comfortable and well kitted out. I was particularly impressed with the way the lights worked: generally, everywhere you go in the world, on retiring to bed you end up turning all the lights in the room off and on and off again before you get it right! Even better was the sensor in the bathroom (once you reach a certain age, night-time trips are de rigeur) which turned on low level lighting, which stayed on long enough to prevent stubbed toes on the way back to bed! The breakfast selection was great, and in a lovely bright breakfast room (it got very busy at times): I loved the puuro, and the quirky selection of mugs to choose from was nice. I thoroughly enjoyed my two trips to the sauna, and now really want to try an authentic smoke sauna, as recommended by a lady I met in there! I also approve of the absence of automatic cleaning service every day: you just need to remember to ask in time the night before! The bed was super-comfy and the pillows also very good. The only downside for me was that I could hear clothes hangers being rattled on the rails in the room next door, as the sound-proofing between rooms wasn't that great. Likewise, they'd have heard mine.…
Lovely, modern, clean hotel! Perfect location, comfy beds and quiet rooms. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Really pleasant stay in all aspects. Nice theme throughout the hotel and attention to detail in the hallway carpets, little notes left here and there, excellent service!
The renovation of this centrally located legendary Oulu hotel is almost complete. The rooms have been refurbished in the ambiance of bright summer nights, the scent of tar, and the wild salmon. On the top 7th floor are two suites with saunas and large balconies overlooking the Rotuaari pedestrian street. In August 2018, we stayed in the same suite #709. Now only the balcony was the same. The interior has been completely revamped. The suite felt more spacious and had a very stylish decor. The other suite #710 has a bigger living room with a dining table for six. The suite was very well equipped. There was everything you could imagine to need starting from the sauna scent. Also, we have never seen such a modern Nespresso machine. In 2018, we paid exactly the same price 214 euros. It was a prepaid Summer Deal then. Now it was a Black Friday sale with flexible rates because of the COVID. My only complaint is the breakfast that was very average. It is served on the 3rd floor in a separate space. All egg dishes (boiled and scrambled) were finished. On departure, we noticed that they were replenished but that was too late for us.…
Very warm and friendly reception. Special treat to our doc. Also breakfast eas very good. These were the reasons for our second visit to this hotel. We parked our car in the street as the height of parking hall was only 2 meters. The only thing that bothered us was the noisy air conditioning in the room.
Had a wonderful staycation. Hardly anything negative to say: the check-in was quick and we were given few room options to choose from (which was very nice), rooms were given a beautiful face-lift, the staff was friendly, and the room was quiet so we got to sleep peacefully. The breakfast was quite basic but tasted good. There could have been some high quality teas available for instance.
Loving the new room! And it was very easy and fast to check in with phone app & mobile key. Comfortable bed & I really like the local Toripolliisi statue in the room. It would be nice to spend more time here, now I’m only on a short work trip. Can’t wait for breakfast. It has always been great.
Check-in to Hotel was easy and quick. Sokos Hotel Arina location is also good because it’s in Center and quite near railwaystation. There is also shopping Center in same building with several restaurants and Sokos Department store. Rooms were clean and quite new. Breakfast was ok, quite standard Sokos Hotel breakfast and There was all ingredients to have good Scandinavian breakfast. I also got Late checkout but It costed 10€ extra. When I was checking out, reseption gave me very detailed instructions how to find nearest bus stop and bus line to Oulu airport (200m from Hotel). Good Stay overall.
Lovely hotel at The middle of The City. We had a wonderful mini vaccation with our family. Very friendly staff and clean Rooms. 5 years old daughter of ours loved The onni Orava playroom which IS by The way very Big! The all new gym IS spot on. Nice high tech equipment. Buffet breakfast was very tasty and fresh. We ate at The inner court. IT's a nice addition especially For The people who likes to eat outside. Homemade pancakes and Apple jam was one of The best things at The breakfast. If you like a clean friendly hotel at The center of The City you are gonna love Arina hotel For sure!!
Pleasant hotel with good location, really clean and fresh new rooms and most friendly customer service. Lovely atmosphere and details at breakfast. Only negative thing was parking witch was a bit hard to find and little narrow to drive at.
We enjoyed our stay in Sokos hotel Arina. We stayed in a room which had already been renovated and it was really comfortable. The ongoing renovation didn’t disturb us. Only downside was that due to the renovation there were three straircases to get to the breakfast (we were travelling with a baby and a stroller). Big plus for the microwave in the elevator lobby as we could warm up the baby food. Breakfast good/basic hotel breakfast, nothing too fancy or special. Excellent location. We would stay again :)
