Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very, very poor customer service. They don’t bother getting in touch with you after a complaint. You get a standard email saying they will get in touch with you within 7!! days but they don’t bother. Was promised to be phoned back 4 times and that also never happened.

Pros: sauna, bbq, 2 bicycles, cold lake, green, silence, views, golf frisbee, tennis courts, swimming/SpA, wonderful midnight sunset, peaceful walks, staff kindness, reindeers at easy reach. Cons.: 1 toilette only in a 4/6 privacy place.

Basic busy hotel. Stayed for three nights. My room was small with no desk and nowhere to put a suitcase. Was not particularly nice. The room was not serviced during the stay. Wi-Fi i is good. Had three dinners, one a set serving menu was basic and just edible. The next two were buffets which were just about ok. In contrast the breakfast buffet was excellent. I bought a beer in the store and had not finished drinking it in the lobby area and carried it up to the restaurant and a waitperson came over and told me that i could not drink it in the restaurant and they would have to take it away. They were quite sharp and gave no explanation for this rule.

The spa is most likely the coldest in Finland (we have visited many). The energy crises is not a relevant excuse any more. The facilities are old and need renovation. Not much to do there either. We spent an hour there, mostly in sauna. Don’t spend your money here.

Visited spa to warm up body and relax sore muscles to end winter holiday in Ruka. This was too high expectation and total waste of money. Might be the worst spa experience ever with those expectations. Water temperature was set too low, most likely due to high energy price 22-23, so it is quite understandable, but even hot tubs and kids play pool were set too cold. Also, energy price has alredy come down from worst times, so I kind of disagree with energy price excuse. Low water temp just does not work in a spa. Anyway, me and rest of the family were disappoited and would not go again. Also it was common feeling I got among people, I heard many were annoyed about too cold water.

Our holiday to Lapland was everything you want and more! The hotel was lovely, we stayed in a spacious apartment with our own sauna overlooking a beautiful frozen lake 5 minutes walk away from the main hotel. We was on bed and breakfast basis, the breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice. We ate in the O'Neill's bar in the evening and the food was lovely, my wife is gluten free although they don't mark intolerances on the menu they were able to cater for my wife. The hotel is set on beautiful grounds with frozen lakes, they had plenty of sledges you could go sledging around the hotel which was great fun, The TUI elves (reps) were brilliant and did everything to make our Lapland trip magical, playing games on the bus to entertain the children. The taster day was brilliant, we didn't do extra tours as they were very expensive but to be honest the taster day / Santa visit filled the time as there is plenty to do at the hotel (Sledging / Swimming). Two things the hotel is not near any town (just surrounded by trees) and the nearest supermarket is a long walk, there is a small shop on site. The Angry Birds park is not included in the package and you have to pay extra, but to be honest we didn't have time as plenty do to.

The hotel is located well, has good sledging directly at the hotel, caters for families really well and staff were very friendly. The Angry Birds centre was a good extra touch, the bar was decent and I found breakfast good. Probably could do with a few more options at dinner and the pool (whilst great) was a little colder than it promised to be

We arrived here the 22nd of December on arrival the hotel looks lovely the surroundings where beautiful unfortunately the breakfast and dinner was awful we hardly ate the 4 days we where here the swimming Pool was beautiful very relaxing we had an apartment with sauna we payed extra £280 for this on arrival the accommodation was fine packed with all the essentials you need including washing powder no tea or coffee was provided we looked over the. Frozen lake which was agai beautiful cannot fault the surroundings atall the angry birds play park for the kids had to be paid for which I think is not good when you have just paid a hell of a lot of money for this holiday there wasn’t a kids club as such and it was vey disappointing the entertainment for the children seeing as it was Christmas there wasn’t a lot of magic in the air at this hotel apart from the snow We booked with tui and will definitely be re thinking for our next holiday as the gala meal we had was awful aswell pick up 6:20 not to eat till 7:30 with children all crying and being packed into a small cabin with other people wasn’t great atall the food wasn’t much better and we didn’t even get a drink with our meal !! Had to be paid for the husky ride we had with tui was also a let down 60seconds round a frozen lake which looked like it was about to crack very distressing this was we had to re book another husky ride off our own backs we went to somewhere called latimuna? It was wonderful and very good for the money not like what tui wanted for doung ir

Visited here on a tui package over Christmas , arrived and was taken to welcome meeting, collected our snow suites - they have a great eye and matched us all with the correct sizes!!, we stayed in a bungalow about a 3 min walk from the main hotel. If you have a small family I would say stay in main hotel as you have all the facilities on hand but we found the bungalows perfect as we are a family of five and it gave a lot of room for us, they have everything you need, sauna, fire burner and an enclosed seating area right on the snow! Hotel was perfect, clean, tidy, friendly, swimming pool, bar, huge indoor play park (€10 all day). We went half board and the food was lovely but my only gripe is that it was very limited choice- used to going A/I so might be me but some nights had to buy kids meal from the bar- no drama really. People say it’s expensive but to be honest I did not find it that bad, any sky resort you go to you will pay more and this is Lapland ! €10 kids meals €20-€30 adults meals €9 a beer (16:00-18:00 happy hour 😉) Lots of places to sledge 🛷 around the lake. Tui had everything slick and organised to the letter, we did Santa’s day in the cottage, sledging, marshmallow roasting and hot berry juice. Sang Christmas carols and seen Santa 🎅 Taster day was brilliant and all that was needed for a 4 day trip (would struggle to fit more in and the longer excursions are expensive but depends on you. We were more than happy, a husky sledge around the frozen lake, snowmobile sledge through the forest, feed the reindeer, snowmobile ride around a set lap, gingerbread making, soup and bread, then back to the hotel singing more carols Christmas gala dinner was great, picked up and taken to what only looks like something out of Harry Potter, dinner, songs, games and a fire works display to finish it. Hotel is a little out of the way but we did not have a reason to leave! Bud can take you to town (not very reliable I’m told) taxi is around €60 each way. The hotel has a centre parks vibe to it, tui have activities through the day, kid’s entertainment after dinner and a pantomime 1 night. I would go back tomorrow!!
