#4 of 9 Speciality lodging in Salla
Beautiful caravan area with over a hundred electric places and twelve cabins with sauna for 2+2 persons. Sallainen Caravan and Cabins are located by lake Keselmajarvi and in the heart of Sallfell and ski resort. Spa, restaurants and other services are all less than half a kilometer away. Ski and hiking tracks burst the area and you can ski right to your cabin door from the slope. There's an idyllic fireplace by the lake and only few steps from the area a peaceful, sunny beach.

The cabins are a little walk from the main slopes in Salla and you can ski almost from slope to cabin door, especially if you ski the black slopes. They are clean and modern with everything you need (there is no oven in the kitchen so bear that in mind when doing your shop). The location is peaceful and relaxed. A short walk from reception is a large lake with a fire hut that was lovely to sit in to roast marshmallows or cook sausages on. Would recommend!

Where do I start!? Thoroughly enjoyed a week spent here before Christmas with my partner in one of the Salla Cabins. It exceeded all our expectations from the start. After the journey on the coach with the stop at the supermarket for supplies for the week we were off to salla. We stopped on the way to the cabins at the sign for the Arctic Circle for us all to take pictures which was good, just one of the hundreds of photos we would take throughout our stay! The cabin was well equipped clean tidy and cosy, even down to matches to light the fire to washing up liquid etc. We were worried we would be cold but the cabins are toasty warm with underfloor heating and once the fire is lit with wood from your own wood store outside the place is red hot! Even in -27 degrees as it dipped to

We loved our holiday in Salla, the best experience and base for discovering Lapland. The cabins were perfect. Good location (very short walk to the slopes), brand new and clean inside and very cosy when it's -27C outside (especially the sauna). The cabins are close to the lake, the best place to spot the Northern Lights. I could even see the Northern Lights outside our bedroom window on one evening! The wifi was poor as we were in the cabin furthest from reception but when you are in the 'middle of nowhere' you don't need wifi. Salla is a great resort for exploring Lapland; we went skiing, husky safari, reindeer sledging and saw the Northern Lights on several occasions. A once in a lifetime holiday experience!

Fantastic place and in the middle of nowhere. Zoe and Craig are excellent and really care about giving you a great holiday. Best place to learn to ski. Will definitely be going back. Lots of trips you can do. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights by the lake. Chalet was basic but had everything needed including a sauna and drying machine for boots and clothes when wet.

Travelled: 18th-25th January Reception: Our key was collected from the small reception area - across the road, the owner/manager was very helpful and also gave us a key for the wood shed (spent many afternoon/evenings by the fire in the warming hut with fantastic views across the lake. Cabins: The cabins were modern and clean, underfloor heating, flat screen TV, Free wifi, hob, microwave (no oven), Sauna, fresh crisp bedding, plenty of towels etc....well equipped....we could not fault the accommodation. Meals: We mainly catered for ourselves, there is no supermarket in the resort and we stopped en-route for 45mins on the transfer from the airport to the accommodation, there is a small shop linked to one of the hotels in resort offering all the essentials. We walked 10-12km
