Our cosy holiday place is situated in true country on beautiful lake shore, in Luukonniemi, in village of Raanujarvi, in Ylitornio (45 min from the town of Rovaniemi).
Forests invite you to pick berries, hunt and fish. Wintry landscape tempts you to ski, sledge or otherwise take outdoor exercises.
For your accommodation You can
choose either 2-4 person's Rantamokki,
10-person Luukonpirtti or one of the
8 person-chalets Naava, Pihka or Reiki.
All of the cabins are in the lake shore and equipped up to date. Cabins are clean and well maintained, as we take care of the final cleaning by ourself.
There are electricity, electricity heating,
cold and warm drinkable water in all of
the cabins. Each cabin has a possibility
for finnish sauna warmed by fire wood. Wi-fi Access!
Prices include bed linen, towels, fire wood and final cleaning. Also you
have rowing boat with life jackets and fishing equipment in your use.
In the winter you will find snow shoes and kick sleds from the storage
and there is a barbeque place to make a fire outdoors, throughout the year.

NJ is a working farm/family home, with some cottages in the complex. When we first drove up we were confused and thought we were staying in a barn! But Kaisa, the lady of the house, welcomed us and got us settled. We'd also had excellent directions and info from Pauline who handled our booking and payment. We stayed in the one-bed cottage with sauna. It was beautiful, very rustic wooden cabin but clean and tidy with modern amenities. Little kitchenette was handy as this is about 45 minutes out of Rovaniemi and we had most evening meals at the cottage. The lake was almost literally on the front doorstep, and the sauna was divine (although it has the bathroom attached, but we were not at all bothered). We were so relaxed when we left out cottage and had a great stay! If I'm ever back in Lapland this is where I'll be staying. One tip (which Pauline also gave us ahead of time) - take insect repellent in summer, as you're right on the lake.

Pese a estar un poco retirado de Rovaniemi, el lugar merece la pena. Estábamos en una cabaña para 8, a escasos metros del lago. La cabaña tenía de todo lo que podíamos necesitar y muy nuevo todo. La sauna también muy bien y el tener juguetes para que los pequeños pudieran jugar en la nieve fue todo un acierto.
Por supuesto, también utilizamos la cabañita para hacernos una barbacoa...
Ya para acabar, es una gozada asomarte a la ventana y ver renos comiendo a escasos metros de la casa... y salir por la noche y ver un cielo estrellado difícil de ver en otros lugares.

Après avoir vu l'excellente note sur booking, nous avons contacté le gite directement et nous avons réservé pour 4 nuits. Avant d'arriver l'échange a été très facile avec les deux gérantes, nous leur avons dit ce que nous souhaitions faire comme activités et elles nous ont tout programmé.
A notre arrivée, Anne nous attendait et nous a tout expliqué pour le programme de la semaine (avec une carte indiquant chaque lieu d'activité) et aussi pour le chalet. Les chalets sont tops et sont faits pour 8 personnes . Une grande entrée, 2 chambres en bas, 1 salle de bain, une salle d'eau, une mezzanine dortoir, un sauna d'intérieur, un grand salon, une grande cuisine, une hutte pour faire un barbecue l'hiver et un accès direct au lac.
Nous avons également pu aller nourrir les rennes de la propriétaire 2 fois dans la semaine et ce fut un moment très agréable car ils sont libres ils viennent vous voir que s'ils en ont envie.
Si vous recherchez le calme et la tranquillité en pleine nature c'est là qu'il faut aller.
Encore un grand merci à nos deux hôtes qui ont été à notre écoute durant tout notre séjour.

We spent one night in this cottage and we had very good time. We were two adults and a small daughter and our daughter slept in a sofa bed in the living room while we had our own room. We ordered food cooked by the owner and it was really good. During the night we realized there was an animal in the room, we could not see if it was a mouse or a squirrel but we saw traces of his passage. The rest of the night was not that nice as we always thought about this animal. Fot the rest the place is amazing and the owners nice.

MARAVILLOSA. Así definiría nuestra estancia en la cabaña Reiki. Una casa espectacular en un lugar único donde no hay nada más alrededor y solo reina la paz. Tiene todo tipo de comodidades y está súper limpia.Y el personal inmejorable, dispuestas a ayudar en todo momento en todo lo que necesites. Nosotros tuvimos un percance con el coche y se molestaron en darnos toda la ayuda posible. Sin dudar repetiríamos, y aunque de Rovaniemi pilla un poco lejos, merece la pena alquilar un coche y alojarse aquí porque es una experiencia irrepetible.

The night here was one of the best in more than 3000k km through Scandinavia! The place is just perfect, feels like a luxury accommodation with a very accessible price, unfortunately we didn't enjoy it for long but we are sure we will come back! Staff was great, easy communication and willing to go above and find solutions for our excursion! Thank you very much and see you soon!

Decidimos coger este alojamiento porque no había mucho disponible para nuestro viaje a Laponia, y la verdad es que no nos hemos arrepentido. Está a unos 50 kms de Rovaniemi, pero la casa está chulisima! Todo muy nuevo, súper limpio, acogedor y con todo lo necesario. Las casas están a orillas del lago, que estaba congelado y pudimos andar sobre él. Ideal para hacer excursiones. Las excursiones no están muy lejos, motos de nieve (11 kms), renos (13 kms), y Huskys un poco más lejos. El personal es muy agradable. En definitiva, una puntuación de un 10!

Found during a solo road trip around Scandinavia and norther Europe in 2013 was only going to stop for 1 night but stayed for 5, the owners and staff were lovely and helpful and I've vowed to go back!

Hi, we had transfers from the owner. Other options are car hire, a taxi or bus (could be pretty tricky on those dates). For the cost and reliability, we found the owner the best option! The rest is in my review :D

We try to give a best picture of Finland people, Lapland and the Torneo River Valley on the west coast.
I would advice you to check flights to Rovaniemi Airport as it is only 68 km (1 hour) from us. It would take 2,5 hours to come with taxi from Kittilä and I don't even want to tell how much it would be in euros. :D
We have a grocery store at 5 minutes distance by car. We are located in between of Rovaniemi and the border of Sweden with it's smaller Villages Pello and Aavasaksa.
Well of course mosquitos might bother you a bit, but all the chalets are on a quite open place offering a little wind to relief the anger with these insects. :))
I could offer our two bedroom chalet for you which sets on a private yard, in the very lake shore, 2 km from the main yard and reception. There is nothing else than just three chalets of ours. :)
For example the dates in July and August would be 120 EUR/night and 100 EUR/night when staying for 7 nights.
Price includes bed linen, towels, internet-connection, fire wood and final cleaning.
Also there is a barbeque hut and rowing boat with life jackets and fishing rods in free use. And there is a private sandy beach 100 m from the chalet.
