On a one night stop over, travelling on the luxuria coach with drivers Paul & Paul with Leger holidays on a 16 day Arctic Circle and the land of the midnight sun holiday, very nice hotel good location close to the town of Rovaniemi which has shops, bars etc and you can walk down to the kemijoki river and see the lumberjacks candle bridge, my room was very nice you had a panel on the wall with lights that changed colour very relaxing, you could turn these off if you wanted to, comfortable beds with everything you needed for your stay, good housekeeping, we had a lovely evening meal buffet style, a good bar area and breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice, the staff were very helpful and friendly, I really enjoyed my stay. When we left the hotel we did not have our luxuria coach or our drivers, we are with a local coach and driver, we stopped to visit Santa Claus village and had a chance to visit Santa Claus in the Arctic Circle and have a photo taken and send a post card from the post office home with the help of Santa elves and visited the souvenir shops.…

A hotel closed by downtown as well as the river. Convivence. Nice sauna rooms, male and female has separate rooms. You can walk to the supermarket and across the supermarket is the North-est MacDonald of the world and you can get a postcard there.

A very good, clean and quiet hotel in the middle of the city. Excellent breakfast and good service. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, excellent bed. The reception staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Exellent experience. Rooms are very very clean as well as the lobby and the restaurant. 24 hours front desk. The food at the restaurant is unbelievably good. The hotel is very centrally located on the main street and by the river. There are stores and supermarket very close to the hotel.

Lovely visit with three dogs. The dogs were as appreciated as us, or even more. Thank you! The room was clean and there was 3 bowls and towels for the dogs. And they were given bags with treats. Xxxx

The rooms were very nice and cosy and heated. The food was excellent and there was a big sellection to choose from. You can walk to all the places. We walked to search for the Northern Lights and found it not far from the hotel. Will definetely recommend them.

Second time staying at this hotel. Same as the first time. They keep the level. Room clean an comfortable, good sauna, nice breakfast, friendly staff. Located in the hart of Rovaniemi close to everything. From the river nearby the northern lights can be seen. All you need!

We stayed for two nights, last winter, at Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna, and although it is dated, the rooms hold a certain charm (but the bathroom), featuring Lappish decoration and their own northern lights, through the lighting fixtures effects, above the bed. Our room was kind of small to accommodate an extra bed, as we were travelling with our 7 years’ old daughter, but other than that, the stay was smooth. Breakfast was lacking the variety expected -from other Sokos hotels experience-, but it was good overall. The main advantage, however, is its location, standing almost by the Kemijoki River and just off the main pedestrian area, with its shopping and recreation options.

The hotel is oldish, but it seems that it has been updated. Double room was really cosy with quite comfortable beds, flat screen, fridge and tea/coffee kettle are in room. One thing I have never seen before, was the Northern lights imitation lighting in the room, how cool is that! Hotel have a small but good sauna and it's free for guests, check available times from reception. Hotel have also big restaurant. Breakfast was great and offered some lapland specialties. Staff polite and very helpful!

We stayed one weekend night at Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna Rovaniemi. The hotel's staff were friendly and willing to serve. Our standard room was nice, very clean and quiet. The room temperature was quite warm but we enjoyed it after the day spent outside. Parking in a garage was cheap (12 €/day) and the hotel's location was very good. The breakfast was also very good and included some tasty Lapland foods.
