We came here 1st week of March 2019 for our winter break of 4 days. The location of the resort is close by to the airport. Transport was included. We had a log cabin which includes a sauna. It is to be self catering which you can buy from the store. Only breakfast is included with the price, but you can also have dinner in the village or take the mini bus to town. Very good to experience the atmosphere of christmas and winter sport.
We had a pleasant stay with good quality cottages and the artifact of Santa Claus however our experience was not up to our expectations, not least because of the rates to stay at Santa Claus Holiday Village.
Our first night in Lapland we stayed here in a perfect cottage. All you need is available, the beds are very well, also the bathroom with a sauna in it, was okay. It's not a holiday season at the moment, butt we had a pleasant stay. When we came in the heating was already on, the cottage is near all the availabilities of father christmas. Also a restaurant is open. The breakfast in Santa's house was okay. Next time we stay here again !
Amazing experience. It was like a dream. Beautiful village, plenty of things to do. You can feel the Christmas all around the place. The staff was amazing, the breakfast was complete and the transfer from the airport is a highlight for those that are arriving and don’t want to waste time/money to get to the village.
Stayed 6d/5n with family incl. 6y & 1,5y kids. Period end February-early March. The motto “Our passion your holiday” should rather be “Our cash your wallet”. Aside a few helpful and sympathetic young staff we found the global quality low compared to i) budget and ii) expectation based on promotion and online reviews. Other guests’ verbal feedback noticed during our visit confirmed our opinion, questioning some of these reviews’ validity. Children’s attractions inside the domain were not worth the money, some being even a theft (e.g. picture with Santa, animal farm, reindeer short tour). Many shops had higher prices than in Rovaniemi city. Certain safaris outside the domain offered nice experiences: we do recommend Wild Nordic Expeditions. Parents of young children beware: the hotel’s kids corner (located in front of the disabled toilet) was ridiculous. Most shocking for a place supposedly welcoming very young guests: closest place to buy diapers located 6km/20€ taxi/25min bus away… One way! With the reception seemingly OK with it. Three Elves restaurant should be avoided for lunch and dinner; breakfast was acceptable. Bar served low quality drinks (few airport-like machines). We found some good places on the domain: we’d recommend Kotahovi and Salmon Palace for lunch, Nova and Glass Restaurant for dinner. Bottom line: nice place for a short visit, to feel Santa’s “magic”, if with kids, BUT be prepared to feel being fooled.…
Three of us went to the safari trip. It was a great time especially the reindeer farm. The owner was very friendly and informative. Fed the reindeers after the trip and allowed to take picture. There was a camp fire with grilled marshmallow. Also we tried glöki (hot juice) the finnish people local drink. Unfortunately we couldn't see the Nothern Light as did not appear on that day. It was a fantastic time.
Nice day with a lot of activities, huskies, reinder, fishing, lunch (salmon soup or macarroni) and they added for free snowmobile for children.!!! The team organizing the activities very efficient, kids oriented, very very kind. Thank you
Such a nice place with beautiful lightning at night time. You should stay over night to not only see the tourist attractions but also see the howl spot in the dark and to walk around without many people. The village is very good located for all transportation (car routes, airport, bus lines) and additionally you are close to the forest and can make beautiful walks. The santa claus village has lovely styled cottages and we even had a sauna - highly recommended. Breakfast is ok, but could be better. The only thing we can't recommend, is the reindeer safari. We really compared the different tours in advance and decided for a relatively long one - a 3 hours farm tour with 45min of reindeer sleight. In total we had 25 min of sleight experience, the rest of the time we spent in the bus or drinking hot tea.…
Good to visit at weekend, it takes us 3,5 hours to drive from Lulea, Sweden. Good experiences but it is quite expensive. No proper signages around. We booked Snow mobiling at hotel reception which we realized we were over charged 60€ when arriving at the snow mobiling park but anyway, not big deal cause we visit only once.
We are a family of 4 (children 10 and 7) that have just returned from 4 nights at the Santa Claus Holiday Village. Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The children were blown away by the magic of the experience. We stayed in the standard cabin which was very nice and had everything that you needed. It was clean and spacious and was always nice and warm. The sauna was fab too! Whilst we were there we did a range of activities including a husky ride, reindeer walk, reindeer sleigh ride, snow mobiles and snowman world. They were all great in their own unique way. We also saw Mrs Claus and arranged for Santa to visit the cabin (felt a bit weird in February, but the children loved it). The only downside to the trip was the breakfast, but to be honest this was a minor thing for us. I felt that they could offer more variety. Overall, a wonderful trip and would definitely recommend.…
