The location of the hotel is good and is between the train station and the city center, both of which are within walking distance. Also, bus line 8, which goes to Christmas Village, is nearby, as well as the art museum. Unfortunately, no one was present when I arrived, and only to one of two numbers which have been stuck to the door from the inside someone answered, who then did not really speak English and then after a minute just hung up. Therefore, I then stood for quite a while in the cold, until then but someone came from the inside, showed me a piece of paper and asked if I was. With this he then went back outside to get the room key from the key box. Why am I not simply told the code for the key box beforehand, then this could have been saved? Since the hotel explicitly asked me beforehand when I was arriving, I can't quite understand this. The room was unfortunately on the first floor and had a floor-to-ceiling window front (even if the lower 40% are semi-transparent), which is why it was a bit like sleeping in a shop window. This also meant that there was a lot of noise from the street. The room had a very strange cut, like a piece of cake. The pillars in the room made it necessary to walk from the foot end to the bed, for example. On a positive note, however, it was really very clean and everything was in very good condition. The bathroom was very small and when showering, virtually the entire room gets wet. A towel rack would have been nice (there were only hooks next to the sink). The TV hung very high, which is why it is better to watch as a pedestrian in front of the window than from inside the sofa. I only found the breakfast by accident in a refrigerator in the closet, but a little more explanation or a sign would have been good. At the coffee machine, for example, there was such a sign. In the breakfast room there was something like cornflakes, but I did not know where to get milk. But since there was no staff present in the morning either, I could not ask. So if I hadn't searched everything when I arrived, breakfast would have passed me by. All in all, not a positive experience, even though it looked really modern and pretty at first glance.…
This hotel was chosen because to its closeness to railway station (morning train to Helsinki was in plan) and many good feedbacks, including excellent and quite position, delicious breakfast, adequate price etc. upon arrival we found ourselves among huge construction area , streets around were blocked and we were circling around in a car trying to get an access to the hotel's entrance. finally got our things unloaded and started to look for a parking place, which was not there. no any kind of sign or supporting note from the hotel's staff where to park. finally ended up to a parking place belonged to another house complex and leave a car there with a risk to get a penalty bill. note, there was noone at the reception, noone to ask, keys were left in a keybox.Next morning at 6.30 am the workers came and continued their job with a bulldozers and cranes! Good morning! again, no any kind of sign or alert from a hotel's staff about it. I would never book a room if knew about this construction work. and finally, breakfast, what supposed to be at 8-10 am and we counted on it due to my morning train. Noone showed even at 8.40am and we left to have breakfast somewhere else, though we paid for the hotel's breakfast. I took a train and left Rovaniemi but my husband returned back to a room to pick up things and continue his journey. A hotel lady has appeared only at 9.30am and on my husband's question about breakfast, responded that according to her information it was not paid by us, but in general, breakfast to be found in a fridge! Oh, what a lovely way to serve guests, open a fridge, help yourself. wait, are we in low budget bungalow in the middle of the forest or in Crystal Suites?! how about letting your guests know that there is a breakfast in a fridge?? any note, any sms, anything at all? and the most frustrated thing is that the hotel lady was not sorry at all. there was no word of apology, nothing. very poor service and very poor impression of staying there.…
Fabulous Fantastic stay Love it ❤️❤️😘😍😍😊😊 Don't regret staying here while in Rovaniemi. Suitable for family/groups because there is kitchen and indoor sauna. Smart TV connected to the Internet, helps a lot especially watching at night.
First be warned its not exactly easily accessible from the railway station like it probably looks on the map when youre getting there from the station. You have to climb through lots and lots of slopes (and with heavy baggages!) If possible getting a cab to get you there would be much easier at least for the incoming journey. I stayed at a double room on the ground floor. The interior is excellent! With thoughtful and fashionable nordic design, cute foxes and elves and elaborate picks for wallpapers and carpets and patterns sround the room. Toilet is SPARKLING CLEAN, I feel comfortable just sitting at the stand shower because the floor really is clear. Shampoo, conditioners and bathing soap is provided. Theres an air-conditioner installed. Also really nice that theres a mini fridge whete you can store food from grocery. Bedding mattress is a little too soft for me but that's a minor issue. Door lock is a bit hard to open too you need to push hard before turbing the knobs but it gets better with practice. Im completely blown away by the intricate and elaborate breakfast buffet. There's an array of food and you also get to try local delicacies like the herring fish and smoked salmon. There's a range of bread you can choose from to make your own open sandwich and theres a toaster for you to use as well. Many chooces of ham and salami, salad toppings, bacon and mini meatballs, and cereals and pastries. The blueberry sponge cake was super moist and tasty!!! For drinks you have a selection of tea, coffee, milk and almond milk. Staffs are really friendly and some of them live upstairs and are accessible most times. I was stuck at front door because my key didnt work and a girl came down after I asked for help in 5 minutes to help me in. Location is fair, it's a 10 minute walk from the city centre and the train station. There's a supermarket just across the street which is nice.…
With 2 adults and 1 child we spent 4 nights in a two bedroom apartment. It was nice and modern, small yet comfortable. There is very little room to keep suitcases open and the appartment had no cleaning supplies like dishcloth or tea towel or dustpan which we found weird. It's close to shops and it's only a easy 15min walk into the centre of the town. It's a easy walk to the train station and bus stop. This was a wonderfully conviant place to stay and would stay here again.
We stayed here for 4 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment. The rooms were nicely presented. Strange but the bedrooms don't have doors. Bathroom worh private sauna was a plus. Well equipped, including washing machine, drying rack, basic cooking utensils. Easy walk to train and bus station. About 10 mins walk into city centre. Supermarket directly opposite making self catering easy. Car parking on site. Cafe serving breakfast. We were there over Christmas- LOVED the extra touch of our own Christmas tree.
We booked two nights at Crystal Suites for it’s convenient location. It is within 15 minutes walk from the train station, as well as the Santa’s Express bus stop and also not too far away from the malls. There are supermarkets nearby and many nice restaurants around. The check in was smooth but room was not ready despite there was a confirmation from this property to note our early arrival. The room was spacious but no iron and ironing board. The first night we were told that there is no iron/ironing board available. Only the next day we were able to get one from the reception. There is a washer but no dryer. This make drying of clothes challenging especially in the Dec weather. The disappointing part was we found the room not properly cleaned. There were items in the cupboards and cabinets we believed to have left over by the previous occupants. Another rather major issue is security. We realised that the unit has no lock from inside the apartment. Meaning anyone with the keys can enter at will. Logically of course every unit has its own key. We thought so too until someone opened our door with his key by mistake. This is quite a serious matter in my view. The management of this property needs to work out a solution without further delay. We believe it is not difficult to add a door latch for safety reason. That said, overall it is a good place to stay and the staffs are friendly. We would recommend this property to travellers after the issue of security is fixed.…
