We stayed in the self contained chalet on site called Kokki. This is a charming little 2 bedroom place, with kitchen/living/diner room and bathroom. The accommodation has everything you need, and is lovely and warm, even when it is -14c outside - the underfloor heating in the bathroom is so good! We stayed as a family of 4, 2 adults, 2 young children and it was the perfect size. Breakfast was served in the dining room of the main hotel building. There is a fair amount of choice, and the food was of a good standard. Location is good. Overall I would highly recommend the Kokki chalet as a great place for families
Ok rooms, breakfast 4/10. Very loud between the rooms. I think its greedy of them to not have coffe for the guest exept with the breakfast. 2.6€ for 1 cup coffe. Total score i would say 5/10 but i think i would choos another hotel next time
This hotel has good and points and things it really need to improve. Good points first: -price -location (close to the center, less then 7 minutes walking, and close to the lake were on a good day you can spot the Nordic light) -breakfast is fine and above average -the rooms are clean, but outdated (but not broken) Point the need to improve -we used the "do not disturbe" sign for one day till 1200. Result? Room was not cleaned at all!! -fire exit is blocked with a chair -the room doors are opening from inside out, not sure if this is common in Finland but could be dangerous if your walking on corridor.
I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this hotel. Excellent location. Less than ten minute walk to city center where you catch the bus to Santa Claus Village. Six-minute walk to Artikum and the Pilke. About 15 minute walk from the train station. It may take a few minutes more if you walk slowly in the snow like I did but it was absolutely doable. Very clean and comfortable. But front desk and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast that was included was good. Dinner buffet also have had a good variety and cost only 16 euros. Sauna was very clean and I was able to enjoy every night. Definitely recommend this place if you visit Rovaniemi. The only thing I wish they did was to give the ladies three hours to use the sauna like the men. Currently men get 6-9 pm and ladies only get 5-6 pm and 9-10 pm. …
Great centrally located hotel. We stayed for 2 nights in this reasonably priced for Rovaniemi with clean fresh rooms. The included breakfast was perfect and the staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
We stayed at aakenus apartments for 2 nights during our 5 night stay at rovaniemi. We previously stayed 3 nights at the scandic rovaniemi, which is right in the city centre. This hotel is around a 10 mins walk from the main city centre. The apartment rooms are very basic and a bit outdated. No daily room service was provided for the apartment rooms which was surprising for the price charged ( 500 USD a night). Breakfast buffet is very basic. Overall would rate this hotel as average in rovaniemi for a family stay.
A very good hotel in an excellent location, a 10 minute walk to the town centre. Friendly and efficient staff who were always helpful. The room was comfortable and warm. The breakfast selection was good and we had plenty to choose from.
OK so Rovaniemi isn't a huge township but The Hotelli Aakenus is just a short walk from the centre and most other things as well. A nice buffet breakfast was included in our package and ran for a respectable time each day....until 10:00 which is a good thing if you have been out chasing the Northern Lights the night before
Spent one night in an apartment in the Peura building, situated behind the main hotel building. Close to the city center, but a quiet place in the night. Window can be opened wide enough to get fresh air. Small bathroom with toilet, showers are separate and shared with our guests. Small kitchen (well equipped), big cupboard, big table and chairs, 2 separate beds. Enough space altogether.
This hotel is located in the Rovaniemi suburbs but, anyway, there where 10 minutes walk to the city center and 5 to the Arktikum museum and to the mall. The room were clean and quite spacious. Kind staff and good breakfast.
