Wow factor, a unique experience with glass igloo house with glass ceiling. Warm and cosy with heated floor and fan coil heater. Everything is very clean, neat and new. Definitely worth it but can be expensive at 690 euro a night. Restaurant food is a bit salty.

An excellent location and an innovative idea for a resort. Wish there were alternate restaurants on the property. Food was not edible, drinks including coffee was below par and alcoholic drinks were not high-end. East Village eatery was far better than the west village. Activities were misrepresented. We booked ad paid for a 3-hour snowmobile safari ride which actually ended up being 75 minutes long on bikes and nobody even tried to justify why! Reservation system needs major overhaul with one man in Estonia in charge who only responds to emails in every couple 0f days! The system used to make payments is trough yet another unknown third-party company-system makes it difficult to trust with all the e-fraud going on. At check-in, in general, reception people are nice and are recruited from all over the globe, well-trained and diverse. That was a positive element of the resort. Go there ONLY for an astonishing experience in a small warm glass igloo when sunrise-sunset takes only 90 minutes, watch the moon the entire time, admire the nature and enjoy the cold and its creatures.

We stayed in the Igloos for 2 nights at the end of our memorable trip in Lapland. The experience was great and sleeping overlooking the star and the moon was magic. Unfortunately, we did not see the Aurora but the experience was worth. First of all we enjoyed the warm welcome and the festive atmosphere. Decorations, lights, music was all warm and perfect. I liked very much the architecture and interior design of reception, restaurant and Igloos. Everything was clean, nice decor and style, wood and stone all over. The people working there all very friendly, sming and polite. I was very surprised (positively), when at reception they told us that this week all the guests was given one complimentary meal choice from the menu, each day of stay. I booked with booking.com and they never told me this. I understood this is a brand valorization initiative and we were pleased. Food quality was top. Elk meat our favourite, together with fishcake. all the waiters always very professional, polite and smiling. Buffet breakfast top notch. Lots of choices and well presented. We definitely had a great stay and recommend this place. Only point if improvement: Dinner menu selection to be reviewed: only 3 choices of starter, main and dessert. Should be much bigger range for a busy place like this

Not real iglous. But small and non confortable rooms. Beds are just 2 stars hotel beds. No space to put 2nd valise. No reception (!) available all time. The New Year's Eve gala turned out to be fast food. At 22:30, they gathered all the tables around and waited for customers to leave. We also left, as civilized customers. We ordered drinks at the bar from a lady very unhappy to be waiting for clients who wait misfit on 31/12. Breakfast was a real shame. Shame on you owner / manager of this hotel. Hope your children also got hungry at breakfast and find nothing to eat. Shame on you ! There was no food left the children. No fruit !! No Croissant. Waiters are just poor inexperienced very young low paid employees. We wanted to see the manager. They said he’s on holiday. At highest seasons most expensive night this hotel charges in the year ; that day the manager is on leave. Leaving hotel in the hands of young inexperienced and low paid miserable employees. We (6rooms at hotel during our stay) will each of us report these issues to Tourism Office of Rovaniemi and travel agencies around.

Response from Suha Yesilyurt, General Manager at Santa's Igloos Arctic Circle
Responded 10 Jan 2023
Dear Inlawco, I am really sorry to hear your stay with us didn't meet your expectations. Our igloos have glass roofs with 180 degree view facing the Northern sky. Rest of the igloo is closed off for safety and privacy reasons. technicalities and bathrooms for example are not located under the glass roof. We understand your frustration about the lack of extra space for luggage. The glass igloos are special accommodation and don't quite work like regular hotel rooms. The size of the igloo is reported on our website and online booking channels. Premium Igloos are for maximum of 3 persons with the extra bed. Premium Igloo with Alcove has more space with the additional room. I am sorry to hear you feel like the Gala Dinner was a fast food. The children's menu contains fries, nuggets etc. Those ingredients are specifically for children. The New Year Eve Gala Dinner was a 4-course dinner well prepared by our chefs who worked on it all day. Fresh ingredients and local and Nordic flavors were a key point of the menu. The tables, around you, were cleaned up because most of our guests were finished with their dinner and the tables needed to be prepared for the morning. New Year's Dinner was served by our dinner schedule and was not meant to last until midnight. However we will keep this in mind when planning our next New Year's Gala. The breakfast starting and ending times are informed and mentioned in the welcome letter our guests receive on check in. Although, our breakfast finishes at 10:30, we do not start to empty the buffet at 10:30 as we try to make sure everyone can finish their meals in peace. We also do not refill the buffet after breakfast has finished. The exceptions can be done of course but simply sometimes it is not possible. Our breakfast has eggs, bread, bacon, beans, porridge, waffles and lot of local breakfast goods such as fish and reindeer. Our breakfast is versatile but if the kids did not find anything to eat, we could've prepared something for them by request. Because of COVID 19, the whole accommodation industry has been struggling all around the world. As hoteliers, we are doing our best to serve our guests as well as train the employees who are new in the industry. We have very international work environment, and it takes time for new hoteliers to fully understand of serving to different cultural backgrounds. Sometimes this can cause misunderstandings. I totally understand your frustration and also see on your comment about the employee payments. The salaries are paid according to collective agreement by Finnish authorities. All of our employees get properly paid as the laws require. Another point that I have to mention that we have had 3 managers on duty on New year's Eve when you were staying at our hotel. Again, according to Finnish authorities and collective work agreement, we schedule our working hours and even managers are not allowed to work 24hrs It is unfortunate that on that specific time, there was not a manager to talk with you but that does not mean the property was left to unexperienced employees. We went through your feedback with our team in order to improve our services. We found very good points to improve. Our team members were sorry to hear feedback about their salary and personalities to be described as miserable. As this does not reflect their experience at all. I see this feedback has been left while you were still staying with us. After handling the feedback with you on the spot and trying to compensate some services, I truly hope in the end our efforts changed your view and experience with us. We look warmly welcome you again in the near future. My warmest regards, Suha Yesilyurt Hotel manager

The hotel is not far from the Santa Claus Village and is easily accessible by walking (Just 10 min). First time staying in an Igloo and it is definitely worth the money. Room is small but clean and well-decorated. Breakfast has wide variety of selections. Staff is very friendly and she gave us an Igloo beside the forest which is isolated and quiet. Love waking up every morning lying on the bed enjoying the views of White Christmas Trees surrounding our room. The glass is installed with heater which can melt the frost anytime when needed. The only disappointed is that we didn't get to see Northern Lights for our 2 nights stay. Will definitely stay here again if back in Rovaniemi.

Accommodation was immaculate. Had an igloo on the back row with a sauna. Views were amazing. Nothing beats waking up under the stars with snow on the trees in the forest outside. Breakfast was very good with excellent choice. Bar and restaurant are classy and sophisticated.

My review is a little bias because we spotted the Aurora Borealis from there which was by chance and totally unexpected. The lights put on a show for a good 45 minutes. The hotel sends you alerts on the electronic devices in your room. The room was beautiful with the magnificent glass panels and ceiling, gorgeous to sleep under the stars if its not covered with snow. The amenities are extremely basic for the price you pay @700euros. Just a kettle provided with no cups nor any tea or coffee. Also disappointing is that there is no spa facility of even a basic sauna or steam. The breakfast served is nice and substantial but the restaurant is closed for lunch and open again only for dinner from 5pm onwards. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful and obliging which made the experience a little better. The hotel is very well located, close to the husky park and Santa's village. Overall a great experience but for the price you pay and amenities you get will have to rethink visiting again. Aniysha & Emil Seyfferdt
