Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Stayed in a double room. Really good breakfast, comfy beds, good sauna (available one hour per day), nice staff. Can't go wrong - stay here. Only thing is there is no tea or coffee in the room, so buy some from the supermarket and use the kitchen for the hot water

Thank your for your review! It´s so nice to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and also offered a useful tip for the future guests. The common kitchen is indeed very practical for all the guests to use! Hope to have you back some day :)

Stayed in a 10 pax dorm during low season ( end Sep) , only few of us in the dorm. Comfy bed and duvet. They have the lockers at the entrance to the room instead of next to bed, which is a better arrangement, there are rooms for big luggage. There is a shared kitchen and lounge at the same floor, with all cooking utensils that you need. Shared Bathroom are spacious, unlike bathroom that I had seen in other hostels. There are few supermarkets and restaurant within walking distance, and also bus stop for buses heading Santa Village.

We stayed 3 nights spread out over our week in Rov. Each time check in was a breeze, each room was clean, warm, comfortable and the wet room had lashing of hot water. Perfect after a busy day of activities.
The breakfast was exceptional for the price. Try the buttery porridge it’s amazing and I’m 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Boiled eggs, meats, cheese, yoghurt and the best bread for toasting.
There is even a kitchen for guests to make their own meals and a funky lounge area. And not forgetting the large sauna.
All in this is the perfect base for a holiday,we even used the underground car park. Highly recommend this excellent place and it’s friendly staff

The staff seemed rude and unhelpful, the room was nothing special but you pay for what you get so all ok in that sense. When we arrived there was a used cotton bud on the carpet and the pillows and bed sheets didn’t smell fresh and had hairs on them. Breakfast however was ok. Nothing too much to choose from but satisfied after. This was close to a 24hour super market which was ideal and the location for restaurants was good.

My wife and I stayed for two nights. The hostel was great. The room was large and very nicely decorated, it was very clean. It was located in the centre of town. Breakfast was great, delicious food and lots of choice. We also ate lunch there which was good value. The staff were very friendly and helpful, giving local advice regarding taxi fares etc. We were able to lock our luggage away on the last day for as long as we wished which was helpful. We would definitely stay again.

I stayed there from 19th til 26th of January. May I say that the location is perfect, rooms are nice, everything you need after a long day of exploring the city. Breakfast was good, they have home baked bread and plant based milk, that goes perfectly with the best and tastiest coffee in town!
Staff is very friendly!
Tip: They don't have hairdryer in the bathroom, you have to ask for on at the reception for 5 eur (deposit, you will get it back!) for the whole time you are staying there.

Fabulous Hostel
The rooms are so comfortable with large lockers for your personal bags, the bunk beds were very comfortable and the dorm was pleasantly warm at a constant temperature. Shower rooms kept very clean and never had to wait always available. The staff were lovely and very helpful loaning me a travel plug for my visit,I have nothing negative to say about the hostel and would definitely return again. I did take an eye mask and earplugs although it wasn’t noisy but ensured I slept all night undisturbed

We booked a private double room. Location was excellent and decor was quite nice. Breakfast was nice but was the same limited choice every day. However cleanliness wasn’t the best we found a used ear bud in our room and the pillows didn’t smell clean at all. Also staff weren’t very friendly. Was ok for the money but not great

We stayed here in December 2022 haivng found the hostel on Booking.com. It was really good.

We had a private bedroom with bathroom which was clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water. The staff were friendly and professional and the kitchen/lounge is well equipped. There were guests from all over the world so the place has an cosmopolitan atmosphere. Breakfast is served in the cafe area - the choice is limited but the quantities are generous.

We walked over the Lumberjack Bridge at night which was magical

There are three excellent museums within easy, walking reach, the Art Museum, The Artikum and the children's museum. All are recommended

We've also recommended the tour group Beyond Arctic which is right next door

Hi there, And welcome to our place! At the moment the bike rental is 10 €/hour and 18 €/day. Our bikes are so called city bikes so during the winter time it might be a good idea to consider whether a mountain bike would be better.
Answer from Hostel Café Koti
Rovaniemi, Finland
Hi, thank you for your interest to stay with us. It is possible to have a late check in. You only need to contact us beforehand about that. Our breakfast starts daily at 7 am but if you have to check out earlier, it will be possible also. Hopefully we will see you soon!
Answer from Hostel Café Koti
Rovaniemi, Finland
Hi there! Yes, there is usually snow at the end of November in Rovaniemi and the hostel is located in the city center, where it is very easy to join any safari tours :) For experiencing the northern lights, we recommend to join some tour, so the professionals will take you further from the city lights. Although, it might be possible to see them also from the city center, but the best possibility is definitely to let the professionals to take you to some darker spot.
