Travellers' Choice
Arctic TreeHouse Hotel provides a unique blend of luxury comfort in the heart of Arctic nature, local Lappish traditions and modern Scandinavian design. In contrast to the meticulously designed accommodation and nest-like cosiness, the panoramic views from the windows provide impressive spectacles of the forest and Arctic skies: the Northern Lights and Midnight Sun can be admired from the comfort of your bed. Our exceptional Rakas Restaurant & Bar serves culinary delights made from Arctic ingredients.

Our room was brilliant and totally lived up to expectations. If you can, try to get a front row room so you don’t have any other rooms in your view, and you can get the shots you’ve seen on Instagram. We stayed for one night which felt like the perfect amount of time, but that may have been because we weren’t doing activities in Rovaniemi, as we went further north to see the northern lights. The restaurant was aesthetically lovely but the food was a bit disappointing - fine but not super exciting. But overall we were very happy with our stay!

This hotel is truly exceptional. The rooms are a little compact but are cosy, really well designed and decorated and the hidden kids bed is a delight. The hotel staff are excellent and we enjoyed the excursions booked through the hotel especially the visit to Santa which was so well done.

Rovaniemi is a small town located in the far north of Finland, in Lapland and almost inside the Arctic Circle (which I did actually get to cross into :-)) This quaint hotel has a selection of room types and I was really spoilt and was afforded a stay in the ArcticScene Executive Suite as well as the Arctic GlassHouse. Both room categories are absolutely beautiful, comfortable, warm, snuggly, romantic, and quite like nothing else I have stayed in. The bath in the ArcticScene suite is incredible! It has a huge window that overlooks the forest and when you want more privacy, a quick press of a button mists the window entirely. Very cool feature. I love being in nature and at the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel, that is exactly what you feel like, all around you there are pine trees, hares, squirrels and snow flakes. I was there on business, their SantaPark venue hosted an event for us, and I can speak true testament to the staff from planning, to check in, to the event to the food. I felt as though I was working with family. One final compliment I can give is for the restaurant RAKAS! They have a great selection of food and even vegan options including the Beyond Meat Burger!!!

I planned to stay at this hotel in March 2020 but due to this coronavirus outbreak I have to postpone my trip. Not that I want to postpone or cancel the trip but I will be asked to self quarantine for 14 days in Norway (1st stop in Norway then off to Rovaniemi) so this make the trip IMPOSSIBLE. The hotel is generous enough to let me change the date of stay but with the condition that I have to provide the new arrival date prior to my original one (which is like 5 days from now) I find it very hard to fix the new date with the time frame given. I understand the situation the hotel is facing also but I only ask for some more time. Not that I will cancel my stay since I already prepaid for it but I'm just just asking for some generosity during this difficult time but it just seem impossible. I guess I will just have to pick a date to stay with a very bad first impression even before my arrival.

We stayed for 5 wonderful days and cannot recommend it highly enough - everything about the Arctic Tree House is truly beautiful and so respectful of nature. You literally blend into the stunning environment of Lapland which creates a very special and magical experience. From arrival to leaving, we were impressed with the warm, friendly staff who deliver excellent customer service but are never intrusive - you can trust they are there if you need them but otherwise you are left to totally relax and enjoy the unique architecture and respectful approach to the environment - the whole resort captivates you and instils a deep feeling of tranquility and relaxation. The “nests” are constructed to a very high standard, you are treated to high end finishing - no expense has been spared on the furnishings, from the incredibly comfortable beds to the luxurious cosy throws you can wrap up in and enjoy the changing Arctic light and snowscapes from the warmth and panoramic aspects of your room. We divided our time between a front row suite offering a view directly into the snow capped forest and then to the amazingly spacious and highly luxurious Arctic Scene Executive Suite which perches high on the hill - it was from here we were blessed with the most amazing display of the Northern Lights which we could watch from the warmth of the room. Truly incredible. The food was of very high quality and the service in the Rakas restaurant and also in room dining was prompt and efficient - food choices varied and tasty and pricing very reasonable, particularly considering that the Nordic region is ordinarily very expensive. The inclusive breakfast is excellent with a huge choice of local delicacies to international options - you are spoilt for choice and will be more than adequately fuelled for your activities in the day ahead. You can truly detox from every day life here but adrenaline and fun are easy to find too - excursions from ice floating and snow mobiling to the staple reindeer and husky safaris are all within easy reach of the resort, so you can be enjoying your snowy, sunny and blue sky days or star lit evenings in next to no time rather than spend hours stuck in transit. Thank you to all the team, particularly Johannes and his colleagues (apologies I didn’t catch all their names) at customer services who were fun, friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. I had been in dialogue with the customer service team in advance of our stay to ensure arrangements were put in place for a special surprise birthday celebration - this was dealt with very efficiently, nothing was an effort and the surprise was carried out in a lovely warm manner. We loved every minute we spent here and left with a wonderful impression of our time in Finland - we will be back time and time again.
