Arctic TreeHouse Hotel provides a unique blend of luxury comfort in the heart of Arctic nature, local Lappish traditions and modern Scandinavian design. In contrast to the meticulously designed accommodation and nest-like cosiness, the panoramic views from the windows provide impressive spectacles of the forest and Arctic skies: the Northern Lights and Midnight Sun can be admired from the comfort of your bed. Our exceptional Rakas Restaurant & Bar serves culinary delights made from Arctic ingredients.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Every bit as glorious and luxurious as the photos of the “boxes of light” nestled on a hill, overlooking the forest. Service is warm-and-friendly as it is five-star. Front desk team Christina & Buddini —part of the international team here — are fabulous and responsive to whatever request you send via WhatsApp — from helping me to find the perfect nearby hiking trails as Buddini did, to helping me rent a car at the nearby airport as Christina did, calling them up and making sure someone would meet me there. Almir and the restaurant staff at brunch and dinner are brilliant, Esas drove me to Santa Village (an extra treat as they are only supposed to drive you to your rooms), and Abdi and team kept the fireplace stoked as I read by the fire in the evening. Thanks most of all to Mika Stengel, who used to work at the Finnish Parliament so my Helsinki diplomatic hosts recommended that I stay here, and Mika made the stay memorable. He can educate on local history, Finland’s foreign affairs, or explain how the owners designed the eco-minded green architecture and chose the exquisite design items on offer in the gift shop. Mika also treated me to a preview of the hotel’s launch of its “Lapland Luxury” brand experience, acting as my personal concierge to design every portion of my stay, from directing me to the best restaurant open downtown on a Sunday night, to arranging an amazing meal and sauna at Arctos by the lake. He even gave me a fall preview of Santa Park holiday cavern, which is part of the hotel property, now being decorated by busy elves for the holiday season — it’s the six-star version of nearby Santa Village! And it’s actually Rovaniemi’s main bomb shelter, rented from the city. How they’ve transformed it into a cozy ice cavern with Santa’s workshop is amazing. The experience is magic from start to finish!

What an absolutely amazing hotel, restuarant. Set in the midst of a Finnish forest with panoramic windows looking out through the trees at the snowy Arctic sunrise - absolutely gorgeous! The international staff are incredibly friendly and the Scottish chef fantastic (although his choice of football team is questionable :-) )

We stayed here for 3 nights. The resort is beautiful and staff is very attentive. This property is very convenient to Rovaniemi and has its own exit off the highway. There is a lot of hype about this property on social medial and you get the same vibe while you stay there. People tend to be more focused on taking selfies, setting up outside cameras and taking never ending pictures of their meals than actually enjoying their experience. Be advised that this property is directly next to a main road and across from the airport. If your focus is seeing the northern lights, this may not be the best location. Lights are kept on at all times across the property and the light pollution from the town/airport is not insignificant. If you want a very convenient/unique option very close to town and airport, this is very nice. If you want a remote spot, away from the city and tourist crowd, this is not for you.

Unique is the best way to describe our Rovaniemi experience. I last visited some 30 years ago as a very lucky family on Concorde. How the town has expanded and this wonderful hotels offers the perfect location from which to explore so many bucket list experiences. Peacefully set out of town, our splendid glass house accommodation overlooking the valley below. The deep snow and hint of burning wood was a reminded of childhood Winters...truly wonderful. We were able to enjoy a log fire and sauna from the comfort of our secluded cabin. Perfect. Breakfast was great....and they even had tomatoes, a rarity in the nowadays Uk!! Yes there were a few niggles, but we forget that we were in the Arctic Circle...but all soon rectified by the hardworking staff and delightful hotel manager. Thank you. The hotel prebooked three activities...personal guide and search for the Northern lights ...the amazing Joanna drove for endless miles...and yes we got the photos. Then the husky safari, such fun...and finally a night time snowmobile safari.....not for the faint hearted, but I now feel many years younger. Brilliant, I cannot put into words the exhilaration of the experience. Save now for next Winter, it is not cheap, but you will come back with a million dollar glow.

I can highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have beautiful large windows. The food in the restaurant is exceptional and the service is great. The hotel manager- Michelle, is very attentive, shes present and actively involved in ensuring customers are well looked after. Its a stunning place for couples and families. Its a few meters from Santa Park which is an awesome family centre where you can do a lot of Christmassy activities- our son loved it. The hotel is very helpful in arranging activities and they give great advise on what to do in Rovaniemi. Thank you to Michelle and her team for making this the most memorable trip ever!

While chasing the Northern Lights we spent three nights at the Arctic Treehouse. What an amazing place! From the nest bed for our 11 year old to the amazing breakfast buffet, we loved our warm and cozy room and the helpful staff. Our room was very close to the restaurant which made it a little less private perhaps, but oh so convenient when walking to breakfast each day. The view was stunning (for the three hours of light we got each day) and we loved it's proximity to other sights and the city of Rovaniemi . There is an underground Santa Village onsite. Our daughter was a little too old for it so we didn't go in, but if you have littles I would imagine that is a bonus activity.

We stayed 4 nights at this beautiful hotel over Christmas. The nest is beautifully decorated. Temperature is kept at very comfortable level in an otherwise freezing arctic environment. Hotel staff from check-in counter to concierge to restaurant are all extremely friendly and helpful. We have managed to book all the activities we wanted during our stay. Restaurant food is excellent and good selection of wine despite being in such a remote part of the world. Thank you for making our holiday very memorable

While the staff is generally helpful, there were errors throughout the stay (not cleaning rooms, our room not turned in on time). As mentioned in other reviews, we were surprised there wasn't a sauna at the property, and this could be a dangerous location for those with mobility issues. While the location is decent (within walking distance to both Santa Park and Santa Claus Village), and the breakfast was nice, I wouldn't return for the current price. If you have the means, the top-category rooms are amazing.
